The contact stated that a failure progressed in which the vehicle stalled with no warning. The contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine and the oil light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart and was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the ignition module failed and that the part was on back order. The dealer provided a temporary remedy of modifying the ignition switch and upon restarting the vehicle the dealer indicated that there was an engine failure after the dealers temporary solution. The vehicle was not repaired and was kept at the dealers for longer than three weeks. The contact was waiting on a response from the manufacturer to determine the remedy. The contact was also included in NHTSA campaign id number: 15v313000 (air bags) and was unable to determine when the part would become available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
