Engine first started making a knocking noise then after about two weeks , engine made a loud cracking noise , then a presentence constance knock engine light came on had the code checked came up as a misfire on the #1 cylinder. Had a tune up done knock got worse . Was informed by a mechanic of the possibility of a timing chain / camshaft problem called Chrysler was informed that the recall p01 doesn't apply to my VIN , my vehicle is a canadian manufactured car.

2 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem

Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the check engine warning indicator remained illuminated with a slight reduction in the engine power. The vehicle was taken to authorized dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. An unknown repair was performed and the warning indicator no longer illuminated. On a separate occasion the air conditioner, radio and rear view backup camera display monitor failed to function. In addition, a squeaking noise was heard from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for a second time where the battery cable was disengaged and then reconnected. After the repair was performed a ticking noise was heard from the engine. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000. Kmj.
