Six problems related to automatic transmission control module have been reported for the 2006 Chrysler 300C. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2006 Chrysler 300C based on all problems reported for the 2006 300C.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300c. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle occasionally lost motive power. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while the vehicle was idle. After each failure, the contact was able to restart the vehicle after several seconds. The vehicle had been taken to several dealers and independent mechanics for diagnostic testing however, the mechanics were unable to determine the cause of the failure. Several unknown repairs were made, and several parts were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact researched and found that similar vehicles were experiencing the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
Car continuously dies or stalls while driving. My wife has also been almost rear ended or hit multiple times due to this issue. Because the car will die while making a turn or at a stop light. The car will also cut out while driving on the freeway at 75 mph. The car will sometimes die and will not re-start leaving her stuck in traffic. I have taken the vehicle multiple times to the dealership as well as other mechanics and they keep telling me its the pcm which has been replace three times.
Problem: momentary loss of power, check engine and etc lights flash. Sometimes stalls completely (when very slow or stopped). It has stopped on me a couple of times while turning. To stall while turning across traffic is unsafe. Parts replaced so far: gas tank (recall) gas pump accelerator pedal diagnosis: apparent intermittent connection at the pcm. Last repair attempt(11/29/17) the technician repaired the connection by aligning the pins (apparently some had pushed through the board) & cleaning the connection. It has worked fine for about 2 weeks since then, but is failing again. The technician now says there is a problem with the pcm (powertrain control module), possibly due to broken solder joints on the board that cannot be repaired. There are currently no pcms available from dealers and there are 67 units on backorder in the past few weeks . . . Many with similar failure modes. From the repair shop: "diagnosed and traced multiple faults to communication loss at power train control module. Removed unit from holder and while engine is running if the unit it tapped or shaken the engine will stumble or stall. - contacted computer repair shop and this is very common issue for several Chrysler in last month or so . The main processor gets loose on circuit board but the contacts are so tiny repair is not possible. No local dealers have unit and there are 67 on back order in last weeks. ".
My 2006 Chrysler 300c srt8 6. 1l engine stalls randomly when stopped, coming to a stop or cruising speed. Sometimes it'll take months for reoccurrence then out of nowhere it happens while, engine stalled. Happens while make a turn at a light also. Starts back up and sometimes stalls instantly. After like the third stall check engine light comes on and the only fault code is p0700. Bought the car in 2015 and less than two months later is when I experienced my first occurrence. Took it to the dealership three times that year and they said they could not duplicate the problem or figure out what's wrong. About five months later (2016) it happens again, engine stalls out of nowhere on the freeway. This time it wouldn't start so I had it towed back to the dealership. After two months of them having my car they said it was the transmission control module so I agreed to replace it. Two months later same thing again so obviously the transmission control module wasn't the problem. Might I add that randomly while driving there is a hard "buck" from the transmission, like it wants to lock up. I've been in and out of the dealership with this problem for two years now and Chrysler claims to not know what the problem is. I am terrified every time I'm in this vehicle. I feel it is an accident waiting to happen. I'm still paying for this car but need to know what the issue is and how to solve it. Dealership says there is no recalls or updates available for my car.
My 2006 Chrysler 300c (hemi 5. 7) will stall at low speeds or when stopped at a traffic light. The car does restart. At higher speeds (e. G,, 60mph), the vehicle will exhibit a sudden loss of power (drop in rpms, followed by a chime sound) as if the engine is about to stall, before reaccelerating again. The stalling/loss of power issue does not occur all the time. Sometimes, the car will operate as long as a day or two without incident. The dealer performed a complete system diagnostic - retrieved code po700 - related to loss of communication with pcm to multiple modules. (they may have been old stored codes. ) then, they cleared the codes, road tested the car, but could not replicate the problem. The dealer returned the car and asked me to monitor it. They indicated that if the issue re-occurs, the vehicle will possibly need a pcm or ignition switch. My impression is that they are guessing at what the issue may be. The day after the car was returned to me, the same sudden stalling/loss of power issues reoccured although the engine diagnostic light has not come on. I will be returning the car to the dealer, even though they have not been able to pinpoint the problem to date. I am very concerned about the sudden stalling and loss of power. This is a very serious safety issue that can result in an accident. I am married with a 9 month old baby.
Engine intermittently stalls while either idling or driving. Stalls are increasingly more frequent. Unable to get a diagnosis of problem. Have replaced the pcm but no change in problem occurrence.
