The contact owns a 1999 Chrysler 300m. During an oil change, the mechanic noticed that the tread for the drain plug was wearing thin and the oil pan and plug needed to be replaced. Chrysler is aware of the failure and stated that it only occurs with the 300m and concorde vehicles. The tool that mechanics use to perform the oil changes is the cause of the failure because it damages the tread. Chrysler stated that she would have to pay $575 plus tax for the replacement. The contact informed them to tape the pan and plug instead. She filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The current and failure mileages were 94,815. Updated 12/12/2007 updated 12/12/07.

While driving at highway speeds of 65-75, car stops running. After pulling off the road, it restarted after 30 minutes. Mechanic could find no cause. No problems for 2-3 days of driving and it did it again stranding my daughter-in-law and her baby. Mechanic replaced fuel pump. A couple of days later it happens again. Mechanic now has the gas tank off the car. I have seen 9-10 similar cases for the 99 300 and later years. Help! this is dangerous and costly.
