3 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 2001 Chrysler 300M

Failure Date: 07/08/2003

2001 Chrysler 300m-noticed vehicle idling roughly, then about 2 days later the performance at take off was very poor, then at driving speed with constant rpm the vehicle would mis-out, shake violently and experince extreme lack of power, performance and response, virtually undrivable at low rpm and city driving. Vehicle has 47,748 miles. Chrysler has issued a service bulletin on this issue and have determined that the condition is weak exhaust valve springs. There claim is that I am not a client of theirs because I bought the vehicle used, original purchaser was a fleet operator, and that they probably did not perform proper pm for the vehicle and this was the cause of failure. Though there are no contibutory sighs of lack of schedule pm, worn rings (smoking) ,valve tapping, pinging or performance issue.
