Engine Stall problems of the 2000 Chrysler Concorde

Eight problems related to engine stall have been reported for the 2000 Chrysler Concorde. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2006

: the contact stated while driving various speeds on a city street, there was a loss of all vehicle power, and the engine stalled without warning. Afterwards, the engine would not restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop, who determined there was excessive oil sludge present, and the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not alerted.

2 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2006

: the contact stated while driving 60 mph on the highway, there was a loss of all vehicle power and the engine stalled without warning. The engine would not restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop who determined the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not alerted.

3 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2006

: the contact stated while driving 30 mph the engine stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop where they determined the engine needed to be replaced.

4 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2005

While driving approximately 30 mph engine inadvertently stalled. When taken vehicle to dealer for inspection it was determined that stalling was due engine sludge.

5 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2005

: the contact stated while driving 45 mph the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection. This is the second time the vehicle has been to the dealership due to the engine stalling. The first time the vehicle was taken to the dealership the engine was replaced. Upon inspection, the dealership determined the engine needed to be replaced again however, no repairs have been made. The manufacturer was notified.

6 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2004

While driving approximately 40 mph engine stalled. Vehicle lost power. Was able to coast to side of road, out of the way of traffic. Vehicle will be towed to dealership for inspection.

7 Engine Stall problem

While driving 35 mph, the engine stalled and the driver lost all power steering and brakes. The vehicle was serviced by a technician and stated that the engine needed replacement.

8 Engine Stall problem

Vehicle was being driven at approximately 45 mph when it suddenly stalled. Owner drove vehicle to a gas station, doing approximately 15 mph. When leaving the gas station, the motor accelerated very high . Driver had not touched the gas pedal. Driver later heard a clunk in the engine then motor stalled again. Vehicle had to be towed.
