The consumer contacted Chrysler, and the consumer stated that Chrysler did not know what the part was called. The consumer then called the dealer, and they had one in stock. The consumer did not plan on replacing the part.

The cowl panel replaced by hood molding 4805701ab, change of design from original molding that blew off. The consumer was driving. On a windy day. The cross wind from an open panel truck caused the cowl panel on the hood to come off. The panel hit the windshield but caused no damage.
Lost of vehicle hood cowl panel while driving. All 7 original cowl panel fastening steel clips were undisturbed
not the result of wear and tear, but inferior product or inadequate design. Nar the consumer stated while going 65 mph a large black object flew against the front windshield and over the vehicle. The consumer would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the repair.

The plastic piece on the hood blew off while driving 60 mph on the highway. The manufacturer stated that several other vehicles experienced the same problem, and the part #4805701-ab was on back order.
Traveling at 70mph on the highway, the plastic molding which is under the hood, part #4805701aa, broke. It hit the windshield and flew and damage the car behind who was driving the same direction. Dealer has been notified, and got a new redesigned molding. Please provide further information. Ph.

Body shop said entire hood must be replaced because it is coming from under the hood and not rusting from the top through the hood. Estimated cost was $950. 00. Chrysler has a 5 year warranty/100,000 miles on rust on this vehicle. Please advise as to what to do immediately. Thank you.
Consumer received recall notice 03v332000 on 14 November, 2003. Took vehicle to dealership on 12/5/03 for hood latch repair. Was informed by the mechanic that parts were not available. This was the third time vehicle was taken to dealer for this recall and still there were no parts.
