The thin foil film used on interior of car is flaking on inside of drivers door handle, of which I was unaware. Cut my left ring finger while I was driving at speed on a 2 lane country road. So startled me I went left of center before I could regain control and would have cause a head on crash had someone been coming the other way!!! very painful deep laceration!.

Back window glass of the soft top, became unglued and is leaking into the vehicle when it rains. Seems like a fault to me as the top itself is still in great condition.

On may 18, 2020 as I was driving at about 25 mph, I heard a scraping noise coming from the rear glass area. I pulled over to determine what was the problem. I then noticed the rear glass window had fallen into the car, held intact by the rear defroster cord catching it and loosely dangling in the breeze. I informed Chrysler of this problem (Chrysler customer hotline 1-800-992-1997, case number 76293394), but they offered no assistance, even though I have researched this issue and have found many complaints through google and your own website, NHTSA. Gov. If I had been driving at an interstate speed of 65 mph, the glass could have entered the vehicle and killed me! I have also learned that Chrysler gave a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty to owners of 2005 Crossfires with the same issue! I demand not only an apology from Chrysler along with a no charge repair of this condition, but also the same treatment 2005 owners received, the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty. This vehicle has been meticulously maintained since delivery, driven sparingly, and garaged nightly. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Rear window is loose and not glued down.
The rear glass window falls out of the convertible roof and into the passenger compartment. This is chronic with most Crossfire roadsters. Easily investigated and verified. It can happen while moving or standing still.

The back window has become detached and is hanging on by a thread. It becomes more detached when driving the vehicle. The silver seen in the photo is duck tape we applied to help keep it in place which is not working. This vehicle has been stored in a garage since purchase in new smyrna beach FL. Additionally, in the past two months the air bag indicator will not go off in the vehicle. Its like owning the bastard stepchild of chysler/mercedes nobody knows anything. Help!.
Tl the contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire. While driving approximately 35 mph, the rear window located in the convertible soft top detached and fell into the vehicle. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,177.
2005 Crossfire rear window seperated.
2005 Crossfire convertible,40000 miles, purchased new from a new york Chrysler dealer. The rear glass window has separated from the fabric top. The same model and year cars have a history of the same problem.
Convertible top rear windows detachment in florida vehicle.
Rear window detached while sitting in garage in tennessee. Purchased in kentucky as the 2nd owner. Has only 32500 miles on vehicle. Apparently a common problem. Had to replace ignition three years ago at only 28,000 miles. Another commonly reported problem. Pitiful with well-cared for vehicle.
Car was sitting in the driveway and back glass fell out and broke we had replaced this top once with our money as Chrysler and NHTSA wouldn't do anything about it this car has had recalls on this problem of the glass falling out and the glue failures but it seems only certain cars are repaired this car has been kept in a garage since the new top was installed and we took it out for a few days and the glue let loose what will it take to get Chrysler or NHTSA to fix this.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Crossfire. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph the rear glass window seperated from the convertable roof top and fell inside the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer szotts Chrysler located at 2565 e. Highland, mi. Who diagnosed that the entire convertible roof top would need to be replaced to repair the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 7,000. Jft.
Rear glass of softop has come loose from material. This is a dangerous issue since the car able to be driven safely. 2005 cars of same make and model has had an extended warrantee provide to it, with many owners receiving full replacement of soft top at no cost to them. This happended while the car was stationary, sitting in my garage, in jacksonville FL. I am the original owner of this car and this car was delivered in what 'Chrysler' has deeemed to be 'hot weather states' (FL) from their 2005 replacements of the same exact issue.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire. While driving 45 mph, the contact heard a loud wind noise and the rear window separated from the convertible top. The top was closed at the time and the failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that defective glue used was by the manufacturer and the convertible top needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but did not offer any further assistance. The contact was informed that a technical service bulletin was issued, but expired last year. The contact stated that he did not receive the technical service bulletin. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
We own an 2008 Chrysler Crossfire convertible with 8500 miles. The rear window came completely loose. I have talked to Chrysler customer service and they have refused to do anything about this top. The Crossfire has always been garaged. It does not stay outside. Hays Chrysler will not help either. I spoke to a local convertible shop and was told the window could not be repaired. I own an 05 Crossfire that had the same problem and Chrysler replaced the top. It makes no sense one would be repaired and the other rejected. This is an ongoing problem with many others. Please look into this problem for me and see what you can do!!.

I was driving my 2008 Chrysler Crossfire roadster when I noticed a wind sound coming from the rear of the passenger side. I noticed a separation in the rear window glass from the convertible top. By the time I arrived home the glass has separated more than half way from the convertible top. I will not drive this Crossfire anymore as I believe this separation mentioned above to be unsafe and could possibly fail completely and cause a hazard to myself and others or crash during driving.
I have a 2007 Chrysler Crossfire convertable. As I was driving I noticed a weird change of noise, I soon realized that the rear window was 75% detached and flopping around held by the defroster connection! I was able to safely come to a stop before it flew out or shattered. Chrysler explained to me that the 10 year 100,000 extended warranty for rear glass on Chrysler convertables does not apply to my VIN number? how can it apply to some and not all???? that is unacceptable there are many complaints for the same problem. They obviously know this is a known defect. Are they waiting to cause an accident where there is loss of life? please help.
I own a 2006 Chrysler Crossfire. My back window is falling out and it seems that Chrysler does not want to take ownership of the faulty adhesive and faulty workmanship of the convertible top. I cannot drive my car because the glass will come out and result in hitting another vehicle, pedestrian or other object. This problem has left thousands of Crossfire owners in a bad situation. Chrysler did issue a recall on the 2005's under TSB 23-035-11reva but not for any other model years. State farm insurance informed me the same top/manufacturer/adhesive is used on all Crossfire model years therefore it is not covered under an insurance claim. I've driven my car 3 times since noticing the window and the problem continues to get worse; becoming more and more of a safety issue. I want to know when Chrysler will be held responsible for the replacement of all of the faulty equipment they marketed and sold to trusting consumer. I am asking the NHTSA to force the recall on all Crossfire convertible tops, no matter what year they were manufactured or where they shipped. Faulty equipment is faulty equipment and the problem needs to rectified by the manufacturer. I am asking for the help from the NHTSA - there are many complaints - this is obviously not an isolated case. Until then, my car is not able to be driven.
The back window of the Crossfire has separated from the top. We saw this while we were walking around it in garage. I have called Chrysler and they say there is nothing they can do. We bought this car in 2008 and is kept in a garage. I only have 53000 miles on it. I know they have a problem with the windows falling out because they a fixing them in 2005 models but not the 2006 models. Is there any thing I can do because a replacement top is very expensive. We have had the window resealed twice and it will not hold.
Rear glass fell off top while driving. Completely separated. Only 55,000 miles on car and has been garage kept.
Back window fell out while at highway speeds. The only thing that kept it from coming completely loose was the rear window defrost wires.
Rear back glass falling apart from convertible top while parked in garage.
The rear window of the convertible top is falling out. This is a very common problem with this vehicle. My vehicle was built in October 2005, but is considered a 2006 model. Chrysler TSB 23-035-11 rev a covers the problem for 2005 models. This common problem effects more than 2005 vehicles. On 9-11-2015 Chrysler was contacted (case # 27856344). They denied responsibility. Claimed (1) tsa only applied to vehicles in southern states (I provided them with a repair order from westbury Chrysler in westbury, new york that applied the TSB & provided no charge replacement top. New york is not a southern state); (2) tsa only applied to 2005 vehicles (I provided them information where TSB had been applied to a 2008 vehicle). This vehicle is garaged most days and has only 34,590 miles. This safety problem is due to a manufacturing problem that manufacture is trying to avoid. Vehicle is in st. Louis, mo.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Crossfire. The contact stated when approaching the vehicle the rear window fell into the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact notified the manufacturer and the entire convertible top needed replacing. The failure mileage was 41000. Am.
Rear glass window adhesive failed and wndow is falling out. Glass window on convertable roof is separating from vinal. The window will eventially fall out completely causing unsafe conditions. Called Chrysler and was told no warranty or recall and that whole convertable top would need to be replaced for approx $2000. The car is always in a garage and has very few miles. This is obviously a poor design. Window could fall out and cause severe damage or accident.
My back window on my soft top was plugged out while am driving on motorway and I was able to hear the window coming out of the material its really dangerous how did they desinged it to be hangging like that.
I came outside to find that the rear window of the convertible top had come loose and was laying on the rear deck being held to the fabric in 1 small place. The car had been parked outside for 1 day. Luckily it didn't fall out while I was driving, potentially shattering the glass near my head. Until the car is repaired it is unusable in foul weather due to water running in the passenger compartment.
Rear glass has separated from convertible top for no apparent reason.
Back glass in convertible top falling out.
The rear window is slowly but surely separating from the convertible top.
While parked, the rear convertible top glass window separated from the from the fabric and is hanging down-- obstructing rear vision, preventing top operation, and making the car not weather tight.
It appears chryslet has extended their warranty on 2005 models for this very same problem. What ever fix they think they made for later models didn't work. They need to cover this safety issue.
When I opened my vehicle to get in, I heard something loud hitting the back panel. I then noticed my rear window had fell 3/4 of the way out and hit the back panel of my car. The adhesive on the rear window assembly failed causing the window assembly to partially fall out. I immediately left the car in park and will not drive it as the remaining portions of the window structure could come out causing an unsafe hazard to myself and others as the window may hit the driver or others on the road when it fully comes out. I onloy have 33,000 miles on the car and have had this car in my garage since the day I purchased it. This has been a problem with this vehicle since 2005, at which time Chrysler issued an 'extended warranty' which included the cost to fix this defect to those numerous 2005's who complained. However, since that year, the amount of Crossfires which were built and sent to the us has drastically decreased, which in turn, complaints decreased although nothing was done by them to fix the problem. In 2008, my understanding is that only 2000 Crossfires were built and sent to the us, of which there has been several complaints, however, Chrysler thinks the customer should take the expense of fixing their defects of using inadequate adhesive for something as important as a window. I was told the cost would be approximately $1,700-$2,400 to replace the entire convertible top, which is what they have to do to make this safe for the consumer. This presents an unsafe hazard to myself and my family and I am not happy with Chrysler's response.
On my way to work having just passed several cars, traveling @70+ miles/hr. On the interstate, I noticed wobbling & the loss of control & immediately moved to the right lane & steered towards the right shoulder of the highway, thanking god for no accident. I put the gear in~park~turned the ignition switch off & checked the exterior to notice my newly purchased rear passenger tire was prematurely blown(recently purchased tires). I called a tow truck(2nd time this March month because it wouldn't crank in my driveway): upon their interstate arrival, I learned that the electronic control system/engine had shutdown with an 'inability to put the car in neutral gear or any gear in order for them to tow it. This is the 3rd time the engine has locked like this. The car has been in the shop for 8(eight) months now since March 23, 2015 & the Chrysler mechanics are in 'awe' as it seems to be irrepairable. I have been without transportation since March, 2015. Chrysler company, please help me with this dangerous problem: I & others could have been killed on the interstate & I have been towed three times because the electronic stability shutdown, but this has been the longest & worst. In the past, I have had the hood-ceiling, ignition switch replaced & before this, I was about to have the silver outside window borders replaced. There has to be a recall on this electronic system just shutting down while I am in the midst of driving as this being the 3rd time shutting down & I do have a new battery, therefore that is not the problem. Help! help! help! [note: Crossfire in shop 8+ months/ I am without my car! please let me hear from you concerning this serious & dangerous matter! it is the mercy of god that there was no accident during the rush/work morning traffic on the interstate, Monday, March 23, 2015. Help! please!.
