1 Steering Anti-theft Device problem of the 2000 Chrysler LHS

Failure Date: 09/11/1999

Alarm system: when you get out of the vehicle and lock the doors by one of three methods (keyswitch, electric lock buttons, or transmitter) and not manually lock the door(s), the red light on top the dash is supposed to start flashing and the alarm is supposed to arm. This works only about half the time. Two different dealers called star at Chrysler and were told this is a known glitch, and that a TSB would follow. If you want to arm the alarm, you can wait about 5 minutes then relock the door(s), or put the key back in the ignition and turn it to run and back off, then get out of the car and arm the alarm again.
