Tl the contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Within less than 30 days of the contact owning the vehicle, the contact stated that the vehicle jerked and the transmission slowly shifted in and out of gear. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the sensors could be the cause of the failure. The vehicle was also taken back to the dealer it was purchased from and the alternator assembly was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was also taken to bergstrom used car super center of appleton (2925 n victory ln, appleton, WI 54913, (920) 749-3232) where it was diagnosed that the frame had extensive rust, holes, and corrosion that could affect the motor, rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
The electrical component on moving my seats failed years ago. I've had electrical lights/ glitches in the dash showing problems with the airbag. This past weekend, I took my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica in for repairs to the alternator and was informed the cradle/frame suspension on my vehicle is rusted through. The mechanic informed me that this framing should not rust through if it was coated properly and if it continues to rust through, the engine block will drop out. I was quoted over $2,000 to purchase a used part and to complete the repairs.
My vehicle began stalling while being driven on the street and highways, when turning and while stopped for light changes. Had to have battery "jumped" or charged several times. Battery had to be replaced twice because of discharged from alternator. Had alternator replaced. Battery continued to drained. Vehicle ran for one day and completely shut down while in motion. After jump starting the battery, vehicle ran for a couple of minutes. Was told by service mechanics, battery or alternator problems even after having those parts replaced. Finally had the vehicle towed to dealership that specialized in Chryslers and was shock when he stated it was the pcm (powertrain control module) which I believed and researched was part a recall for 2005 Pacificas in 2006. Told by the dealership that the fuel pump was fixed which is not the problem of this vehicle. The pcm is the problem, and the dealership is not owning this. I did not purchase the vehicle until 2010; so I honestly believed that this problem was not repair but claimed to had been. When referencing the recall notification (which I did not receive personally), the fuel pump problem was replaced for 2004 models not 2005 models. Pcm problems were that of the 2005 models which was not repaired or replaced for this vehicle. I have had my vehicle towed approximately 7 times now. I am still paying insurance for a vehicle that is unable to be driven. The dealership wants to charge me $1000 for repair, that is a little less that half of what the vehicle is worth.
A week ago I smelled an awful burning smell coming from my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. I took it to the mechanic for investigation and repairs needed. The car needed an alternator, water pump and serpentine belt. While they were fixing this problem I told them to investigate the rattling noise coming from the frontend. They found that the engine cradle was rusting away. The garage suggested that I contact Chrysler as this is a known problem with Pacificas but it has not been recalled. I did my research and found that there are extended warranties being offered for this issue. I called Chrysler directly and they told me because I was the second owner of the vehicle and they didn't know how the vehicle was treated and because of the mileage, they would not assist me in any way. Keep in mind I am a student and now have a car that is unsafe and Chrysler could care less!! the fight does not end here. Please contact me if you are having the same problem and what your outcome has been.
I have had so many things go wrong with my Chrysler Pacifica 2005. SUV. On Friday April 16 2010 the car stall coming off the exit ramp of route 80 in paterson ,during rush hour. On Monday April it was dead and required the battery to be charge. The battery had been charge on Sunday april18. The car had to eventually be towed Tuesday April 20, 2010. This car has been in Chrysler's dealership twice in March. March 3rd for a oil change that ended up costing 392. 80. March 24 it was towed in because it wouldn't turn over. You couldn't even jump start it. They replace ignition switch and cylinder. Again they replace the crankshaft seal . { this was suppose to be fix on March 3 2010 I paid for it. Which brings me to the present the car is still at the dealership, this is the fourth day, they still don't know what's wrong with it. It could be the alternator they tell me. Chrysler never offered me a loner car because they didn't have any. How about I rent a car? goodluck getting your money back. My car has many problems starting back to Jan. 2009. I'm sure you can get the car history. It was purchase at Chrysler Plymouth of paramus in 2005 brand spanking new.
Battery would die after having door open for short period of time for loading/unloading items. I had to get jump-started 4 times in a 1-week period. When taken to "autozone" to purchase new battery, they told me battery was still good that it just needed to be charged. But when it continued doing it, I got alternator checked and they stated it was bad. Now I have to wait until service dept. Can see me for service.
My 05 Pacifica will not start randomly, will just click click click. A small jump will get it going again. Battery, alternator, electrical all supposedly check out. Happens randomly. One it happened just 10 minutes after I had driven the car. Chrysler dealer claims it happens to many. It stranded me.
