Chrysler Pacifica stalled at a low speed while making a turn into a parking lot. Took vehicle took dealership the same day and they could not diagnose a problem.
: the contact stated while driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled however it would restart. This occurred on two occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who could not determine the problem. There was an open NHTSA investigation #ea06013 which pertained to engine, fuel system, power train and vehicle speed control.
: the contact stated while slowing down and turning left, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted with no delay. The dealership was unable to determine the problem.
1) I was driving on interstate and exited. Shortly afterwards when driving slowly my car stalled and I lost all control, fortunately, did not have an accident. 2) car stalled when driving slowly, shortly after driving on highway. Lost all control of vehicle. 3) restarted car and everything seemed okay. Now this has happened on 2 separate occasions so I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can identify source of problem as this could be very serious if it caused an accident.
'05 Pacifica touring 3. 5l stalls when in a slow speed decelerating left hand turn. Vehicle starts again immediately.
We purchased a used Chrysler Pacifica on 1/24/06 in savannah, GA w/approximately 20k miles on it. Approximately 1 month later, it stalled while making a u-turn. Took to the dealership and was told that it was perhaps a fluke because no message light came on to help determine the issue. It would occasionally feel like it was going to stall or rev itself but it went a few months with some abs wheel sensor issues but no stalling. Since July 25th 2006 it has stalled or attempted to stall on numerous occasions. On Thursday 8/10/06. It stalled 2 times and attempted to stall many more. The fuel gauge then dropped from @ 1/2 a tank to "e" and the message center said that the tank only had 32 miles to empty. I called the dealership and was told to bring it in ASAP. I fueled up and it only took 12 gallons to fill up. It was then dropped at the dealership. The dealership kept the car for 5 days and was unable to duplicate the failure. A few days later the same thing happened and the car went back again. The dealership told me to keep the car fueled above 1/2 tank and then bring it in on 8/21/06 with a 1/2 tank or less of fuel. I brought it in at a 1/2 on the mark. Once more, the dealership was unable to duplicate the error. They believe they know what the issue is but can't fix it until they can get a computer read or or personally duplicate the error. I got the car back on Wednesday 8/23/06 and again on the evening of fri, 8/25/06 the gas gauge plummeted to "e" with plenty of fuel in the tank and attempted to stall. Today, 8/27/06 the car stalled twice, once in the middle of a right hand turn and once while making a left hand turn. If I gas up, I don't have a problem until there is less than a solid 1/2 tank of fuel in the car. I need this car and I am scared to death to drive it anywhere without more than a 1/2 tank. I asked to dealership to drain gas if need to be replicate the issue but they are apparently unable to do this.
2005 Chrysler Pacifica stalled for the 4th time since lease purchase (August 2006). I drove ~25 miles to work and the car stalled while making a left turn into my work parking lot. The only warning light that came on was the oil light. After a minute of sitting, the car was able to be restarted. The dealership stated no fault registered on the car's computer, and tried to recreate the stall but were unable to. No repair was made. On 20 Aug 2006 the same incident occurred: car stalled while making a left turn into work parking lot. Same dealership had looked at car and made the following repairs: replaced idle air control and reprogrammed pcm. On two previous occasions (don't have the paperwork, but will request receipt copy) the car had stalled after driving home from work and picking up child from daycare, when making an attempt to exit subdivision (a left turn, which should have been followed by a right turn, but the car stalled before the right turn). I took the car to a different dealership at the time, but they found no fault on the computer and only attempted to recreate the stall. Unable to do so, no repair was made.
My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica fwd 3. 6l 24 v. Vehicle's gas gauge reads about 1/4 to 1/3 of a tank full, then suddenly drops to empty. With in a few miles of driving the vehicle after this happens the vehicle stalls out. The vehicle has also almost stalled out three other times and has stalled out 5 times now. The vehicle has been serviced twice once the bcm was reset and the second time the leveling units and sending units in the gas tank were replaced. The vehicle has had this occurrence again and the dealership has informed me they will contact me again this coming Monday to resolve the issue, even though the service department informed me that my vehicle is fixed and this problem would not occur again. I have only owned the vehicle for 5 weeks, and it has stalled out 5 times and the gas gauge has suddenly dropped to empty more then five times now, the most recent happening today 8/6/06.
Really was happy with my Pacifica but now I am afraid to drive it! managed to get through the whole left turn and the car stalls. But now driving down a straight road the whole passenger side window collapsed into the door for not apparent reason. It was on the side my daughter was buckled into her car seat and needless to say scared her to death as rain was soaking her!.
Car stalled without warning. Had just taken a turn to right. Weather was hot and humid. Car is 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Took to dealer next day, no error codes or other problem reported.
: the contact stated while driving at various speeds the vehicle stalled without warning. The dealer replaced the idler control motor but the problem persists. When the gas gauge reads a half tank, the needle would drop. The dealer replaced the sending unit, fuel level module.
About a month and a half ago, my Chrysler Pacifica 2005 started to have a couple of probably related problems, one of which can be dangerous. The car will stall when turning left. If a car is coming up behind me, I could get rear ended. The other problem is that my fuel gauge will show a half tank one minute and almost empty the next. When I have filled up, it would only take 15 gallons, meaning that there are still 8 gallons left. I have an appointment in one week with my local dealer and hope that they can fix this, as it is potentially dangerous.
I was making a low speed left hand turn when my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica limited stalled. No accident occurred but I understand this has been a frequent occurrence with the '05 Pacifica.
: the contact stated while turning left at various speeds on four separate occasions the vehicle stalled without warning. Upon inspection the dealership was unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was not alerted.
Car stalls at low speed turns to the left. On the brake, off the gas pedal. Does not sputter just shuts of in turn with no warning. In the shop 5 times unable to repair it. Happened over 20 times since car was new. Close calls of hitting objects.
I purchased the vehicle used in Feb 2006 and it had approximately 17500 miles on it. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, I went on a trip with the family to florida and this is when it first incident occurred. The first time that it happened I didn't really think too much about it. I was pulling into a parking space and the car had cut off. The car rolled to a stop and then I noticed that the car had cut off and I restarted and didn't think too much about it. Since then the car has cut off three times with my wife driving the car. This has occurred over the last three months and the last incident was on may 23, 2006 and I was sitting in the passenger seat when it happened with her. The last occurrence was scary because it was when we were making a right hand turn and another vehicle was coming. Luckily the vehicle had room to go around but under other circumstances this could have been serious. I called the dealership to make an appointment to have the car looked at because the last thing that I want is for my pregnant wife and kids to be involved in an accident because the car stalled while turning. After reading complaints from this website, I read that in a lot of instances in the other cases that the dealerships could not find anything wrong with the vehicle so I called Chrysler customer service to inquire about this on may 24, 2006. I spoke with customer service representative polly and she said her customer service number was hqd. She researched the problem and said that Chrysler did not have any record of complaints regarding this problem and referred me to the dealership. She also stated that she could not provide me with any phone numbers to senior management of customer service because that was proprietary.
I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica and on 4 different dates it has stalled while driving. It occurs when I have went through a round-about twice and once while slowing down to stop at a stop sign, the 4th time is while sitting in traffic at a light.
Vehicle stalled while turning into parking spot at low speed. Power steering was lost at that time making it difficult to maneuver vehicle. When vehicle was placed into park, I was able restart the vehicle and safely park.
I have owned this vehicle since June, 2005. As I am driving, suddenly and without warning ,this vehicle has stalled in the lane of driving. This incident has happened to me three times in these 11 months. The dealership cannot find a computer code to identify the problem and will not do anything to fix this problem.
1) driving the first time, and sitting in park the second time 2) Chrysler 2005 Pacifica stalled out for no reason, but was able to restart the car. Luckily the first time I was driving in a parking lot and not on the road 3) local dealership has no idea what the problem is and cannot replicate the problem.
: the contact stated without warning, at various speeds, the vehicle stalls. The vehicle is pulled over and restarts. The dealership has seen the vehicle twice for this, but is unable to determine a problem.
Vehicle has stalled/lost all power twice when making a slow left turn - once in the neighborhood and the other in a busy intersection. 6,574 and 8,639 miles. Service has been unable to determine problem as they have not been able to recreate or confirm the problem.
2005 Chrysler Pacifica stalled 6 times while turning left. I took the car to the dearship 5 times. Dealership says can not find anything wrong, but can find that the computer did reboot. Meaning that the car did stall, he said. I have three small children under the age of 6. I have a great fear for the safty of my family. This car is not safe to drive. Something must be done. I feel stuck. Please can some one help.
Vehicle stalls during turns. Usually this occurs when turning rapidly. Has occurred since the vehicle was new and still occurs 1 year later. Otherwise vehicle runs and smooth. When a stall does occur, is happens without notice and very quietly.
Entering a busy parking lot, after making a sharp left hand turn, the SUV stalled and died. This was not the first time, it has also happened to my wife twice before.
I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica awd 3. 5 liter and it will stall while in traffic if I turn left at a slow speed. I have had this happen to me and my wife while in traffic. I have taken it to the dealership 2 times, and they don't know what it is. They are pretty much guessing. This is a safety issue because 1 day someone will be stalled in front of a big truck and that won't be good.
Chrysler Pacifica stalls all the time.
2005 Pacifica 3569 miles has stalled 5 times when turning left every time with the exception of once it stalls twice in the same day, causing a loss of power steering.
Vehicle stalled while making a left turn. Was unable to make left turn due to power steering shutting off as well as engine, ended up stalling in middle of intersection.
The contact stated vehicle stalled twice. She was able to restart the vehicle. After two attempts the dealer was unsuccessful in locating the problem. The manufacturer was contacted, but offered no further assistance.
Last sept my wife and I purchased a slightly used 05 Pacifica. One week later my wife experienced the first stall while turning into a parking lot. I contacted the dealer and found that there are thousands of similar complaints and Chrysler would have a solution by Dec 05. We have since had around 7 stalling issues with this model, usually turning at low speed or backing up. After several calls to Chrysler and the dealership, we still have no answers. The dealer is trying to wash their hands of the problem and continues to direct me to the manufacturer. Chrysler will not admit to knowing the problem exists. I have a pregnant wife and a five year old riding in this vehicle and I'm concerned that this stalling problem will occur while driving in traffic and could potentially be harmful to my family.
The vehicle has stalled four times in the last five months while turning or going around a bend in the road. Fuel levels at the time it stalls are varied. We no longer feel safe driving the vehicle in traffic. The vehicle could potentially stall and cause a serious accident. Dealer service acknowledged that multiple Pacificas have been brought in for this issue but there was nothing they could do since Chrysler had not acknowledged the problem and had no fix. This is unacceptable for any vehicle regardless of price.
The consumer owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The vehicle stalled for no apparent reason. This incident occurred while decelerating and braking. There was no prior warning before this incident. The consumer put the vehicle in park and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle restarted properly. This was the first time this incident happened. The vehicle has automatic transmission. The dealership said there where no codes shown. Therefore, the dealership would not do anything about the vehicle. She was scared to drive the vehicle because she had three children. The vehicle had less than 3000 miles on it. She was traveling 55 mph before slowing down to make a turn.
My 2005 Chrysler pacfica stalled in the parking lot of my friends house. This is the second time this has happened. The car is brand new (got it in may) and there is only ~5000 miles on the vehicle. Both times the car stalled at low speeds (parking lots) while turning, and my foot was not on the gas pedal. First thing I noticed was the power steering was out, then eventually noticed the car was not running (stalled). Saw a recall on 04 Pacificas for a similar problem, brought the vehicle to the dealership I bought it at and they could not find anything wrong. Brought it in a second time and they made an adjustment to the throttle.
Car stalled on 3 different occasions. All three times occurred while making a slow left hand turn. When this occurred, the power steering, and brakes failed. Was able to restart the vehicle after putting it in neutral.
