Drove my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica to the convenience store drove normally went in did business came back out to leave and the shift lever would not move, had to be towed. Tow truck driver says he sees this 4 to 5 times daily with both Pacificas and 300's, had to have car towed to Dodge for repair of a plastic clip that broke, push key override would not work.

3 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

2006 Chrysler Pacifica -- axle clanks when I lift my foot off gas pedal when slowing down in traffic and then put foot on gas pedal at any speed. . Took in to Chrysler dealer and they said need new axle which will cost $1000 plus tax approx. Said this is common to Pacifica's and my problem was not as loud and as bad as other Pacifica's they have seen and worked on. I don't see why I have to pay for this repair when this is "common to Pacifica's". In fact my own mechanic looked at it and said the very same thing --- why wasn't vehicle recalled. What can I do? I don't have $1200 to fix this. And if Chrysler mechanics say this is "quirk of the Pacifica's" , then why is the repair on me? I'm worried this will get to the point where I cant drive the car.

4 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2008

Failure of cv joint resulting in a right front broken axle. The vehicle had just been to the dealer and had a 30,000 mile service which supincluded inspection of cv joints. The actual mileage was just under 30,000 at the time, which seem early for such a serious problem.
