1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2022

I got in the car started it as usual, shifted it in (d), pulled out of my church parking lot, got about 5 miles away from my church stopped at a red light. The light turned green I accelerated as usual. At this light is a slight incline about 15% ways up the incline it just stopped pulling. I pressed the gas heat the engine rev but no power to the wheels. So I shifted it in auto stick mode and it wouldn’t change out of second gear I left it on the highway for about 3 days. I went back trying to reset the trans by turning the switch on and holding the gas pedal for 30sec as seen in Chryslers forum and youtube yet still no power had the car towed back to alabama when I go to church in tennessee which was about 50 miles away or so. Get it home after paying a huge towing bill. Because my insurance only covered like 15miles. I got it home try to shift it in r, d, and the autostick. However, it finally started going back to 1st gear. Unfortunately it still wouldn’t pull. I’ve looked up the problem and there is a recall for this, however when I call Chrysler it doesn’t cover my vehicle.

8 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2019

Year2006 make/modelchrysler Pacifica mileageabout 99,000 driving for 13+ years; had been getting check engine and abs signs on dashboard now and then for about 6 years; in humid days recurrences were more than in colds. Va inspection, both emission and safety, passed every year, last one being in July 2019, without any issue. Since late July abs sign ceased to appear any more, and check engine light is appearing steadily. In diagnostics p0700, p0732 and p0720 codes were returned. Now a days, when I come to a stop/red light, on full brake, engine makes a jerk, and speedometer reading jumps from 0 to 20 mph. Also, break pedal experiences a push-back, causing tendency to drive forward. Over 30 mph gas pedal demands more compression, and engine motion roaring also surges, no rattling. What kind of risk I am carrying in driving the vehicle, what are my options, cost for remedy and is it worth to invest in fixing the problem(s)?.

17 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2017

My 2006 Chrysler Pacifica seems to have some very common and related issues to an existing recall. My vehicle experiences all kind of issues related to a faulty fuel pump/tank design and possibly software issues also. My vehicle can be very hard to start. My vehicle can shut off without warning. (no other known issues) my vehicle tends to think the gas cap is bad. Displaying gascap in the odometer area. We experience power loss, stalls, poor fuel economy, fuel capor smell on occasion that could ignite, if for any reason the fuel system is slightly overfilled by even ten cents worth of fuel it can poor fuel onto the ground. This happens on top of the tank. Not at the filler hose. Check engin light code points to evaporative system. My vehicle was manufactured in August 2005. I believe the fuel pump module is bad as well as possibly software. If you do your own research you will find this car is know to have evap system and fuel system issues. Lots of them. One that comes to mind is a connector on the pump or model cracking and allowing fuel /air to escape. I am terrified my car might blow up with my children in it. I can't give exact dates because this happens all of the time. Evap codes return, fuel smells, poor engine performance power loss, if it does shut off while driving it becomes hard to steer. Etc etc.

18 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2017

I was on freeway doing 60_70 miles per hour when I noticed my car felt like it was not accelerating and gas pedal felt stiff like when car is off. I had my whole family in car and I could of wrecked if I didn't notice in time to put car in neutral and restarted it some how before we got rear ended. I got off freeway somehow and turned car on and off again a few times and it seemed like it was a one time thing . A few miles later it did same thing and I was stalled out in middle of on coming traffic . Cars braked and swerved out of my way to avoid rear ending us . My children were scared cause of this happening out of the blue. I now have no desire to even drive my car with any of my family in it incase this happens again. I contacted Chrysler but they claimed my VIN wasn't part of the f44 recalls but I know it is same issues. . . I will be taking car to Chrysler first thing in morning to leave them car to find out why my family almost got in accident due to this issue. So in total it stalled out on me 6 times twice on freeway the rest on city streets just to get home . . . . This is a serious issue that could of killed everyone in my vehicle if I didn't react fast enough to avoid that from happening. .

19 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2016

The engine light came on. The car would not accelerate over 25 mph. It kept feeling as if it was stalling when stopped at light and trying to accelerate. Hard to go up inclines. After being parked for 4 hours we noticed the car was smoking. I called the fire department who discovered that the insulation and the engine was smoldering. It is now at excalibur being looked at. I was driving on a city street when this happened. When we discovered the car was smoking, it had been parked for four hours.

20 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2016

The engine mounts have broken, and been replaced, and broke again. The floorboard, has rusted through on the drivers side, and the frame is rusting out. The suspension is breaking and has now blow out 2 tires. The electrical panel /dash, doesn't work and causes other problems. I don't live by salt water and have been informed that this is not a new problem with this make/model. Gas fumes come up through the floorboard, and I have been dealing with this since I took it off of the dealership. I am a single mom of 3,and am not finding help from anyone. Can you please help me?.

21 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2015

Purchased car used with less than 85k miles. When I went to get it state inspected 1 week after purchase I was informed that the car is unsafe to drive due to engine cradle was rusted out. Repair estimates range from $3300 to over $4000. The car is less than 10 years old and under 100k miles. No help from the manufacturer. Many others with the same situation. This could be a potential life threatening situation for myself and my family. Car is worth as much as the repairs. The manufacturer should be made to make this right. Bad product. Even partial help with the repairs would help. Very disappointed in "american made".

23 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2015

I took my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica in to a Chrysler dealership because I couldn't pass the IL emissions test. I was told that my subframe was very rusted and holes were in it. He told me that they fixed my car so I can pass emissions ($900) and basically told me to drive it for a few months and get rid of it. I asked him how much it would be to fix it and he told me, it would be very expensive. I did my research and there are a lot of people with the same problem. There is a recall for 04-05 Pacificas and after looking at pictures of other subframes for 04-05 models, they look just like mine (rusted w/holes). 06 Pacificas should also be in the recall. I did not call Chrysler because I felt I would get the same response as others. So now I have to pray every time I drive the vehicle that the subframe doesn't break. I still owe on the vehicle and can't afford another. Please do something!.

24 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2015

Today I was told that the engine cradle of my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica with 125214 miles was rusted out and needs to be replaced, will not pass nys inspection. Online I read that Chrysler is only are covering the 2004 and 2005 models. This is a extreme safety problem just like the defects in the 2004 and 2005 that Chrysler needs to cover.

25 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2015

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The dealer informed the contact there was NHTSA recall campaign number: 06v432 (power train) but the contacts vehicle was not included. The current mileage was 84000. The vehicle had not been repaired. The VIN was not available. Rl.

26 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2015

The engine cradle is rusting through leaving holes, and flaking off even when just touched by hand. This is a problem with 2004 and 2005 Pacificas as well; Chrysler extened warranties for those model years, but decided not to for 2006 for some reason. Really these should all be recalled anyway as it is a major saftey issue since the engine support is rotten with rust which could easily cause major accidents.

27 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

When getting oil change mechanic pointed out front frame (engine cradle) rust. Frame rusted through. Not safe to drive.

28 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2014

29 Power Train problem

While stopped at a traffic light I heard a noise coming from under the hood. I put the car in (n), and listened for the noise I then noticed the speedometer moving from 0 to 20 mph while I was not moving.

30 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2014

I was at stopped at signal light in traffic at rush hour. When light turned green to go, I stepped on gas petal and vehicle started to snorkel and stall. It started jerking and continued to stall then it took off for a bit and started to stall again, then continued to go. Cars were honking and I almost got rear ened and hit on the side!. Another few times before that it would rev up on its own while stopped at signal light lunging forward. Few times almost hit vehicle in front of me due to this issue! recall most definitely needs to be enforced>>>>.

31 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2014

Had to have my vehicle towed due to my ignition switch. I am glad that I was not driving when this happened! getting this car repair will set me back in my bills and I just got this car 2 years ago!.

32 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2014

Car has rotten sub frame that cradles engine suspension! in looking at Chrysler complaints this appears to be prevalent in all the sub frames. My mechanic has welded in metal in place of rot. This sub frame is responsible for suspension of the front end and cradles engine mounts. There is no way a car design should allow for failure of such a critical job after 89000 miles and 8 years. These cars need to be recalled and or removed from the road before there are unnecessary deaths.

33 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2014

My car failed on us as we were on our trip towards brownsville texas. The electrical in my car started flickering and the motor kept accelerating itself. . Then the gas indicator went from showing half tank full to 10 miles to empty. . We were in the deserted part of the checkpoint ranch so we had about 30 miles until a gas station we thought we couldn't possibly just run out of gas, but as we continued 5 minutes later our car electrical just sounded a spark and our car starting shutting off, hard steering to pull on side of road. . But thank god we had no vehicles behind us so that prevented an accident from happening. . We called family member to go help us haul our car to a nearest gas station or mechanic. . Something I never want to experience with my children 3 and 1 in my car and the hot summer. . I have searched for my car if it falls in the recall category but it shows nothing. . Yet it showed to have similar defects as the ones being recalled.

34 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2014

I filled up the tank with gas and was on a long road trip. I had reset the trip at the time of fill up and I had tracked the highway mileage using a little less than 1/2 tank then refilled it then took how many miles I had gone divided it by how many gallons of gas it took to fill it back up. I was getting 21 miles per gallon. When the gas gauge reached 1/2 tank, it dropped straight to empty. I had only gone roughly 200 miles and figured at 21 miles per gallon I should easily get 350 to 400 miles before needing gas so I carried on. After I had traveled 220 miles on a full tank, (20 gallons) the motor just shut itself off. I pulled over and called for help. They brought 2 gallons of gas and put it in and it fired right up. I drove 2 miles back to the gas station and filled it back up and it only took 8 gallons to fill it back up. 10 if you include the 2 we had just put in on the side of the road. That is 1/2 a tank of gas. When I got home I looked up recalls and there is a recall f44 on my vehicle that describes this problem but when I called Chrysler, they said my vehicle was not manufactured within the dates of the recall. If my vehicle is having the issue shouldn't they cover it?.

35 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2014

Went in for regular yearly inspection to find out that my motor mount was almost detatched from my vehicle . The powertrain was rusted . So I had to replace the motor mount the powertrain still needs replaced. In the 6 years that I have owned this vehicle I have never been notifyed of a powertrain recall. At this point I'm very upset to find out that this was never brought to my attention. However this could have put my family at risk . I hope and pray that this can be replaced as it should have been since the recal. L please notify your customer before something tragic occurs.
