Failure Date: 12/15/2016

The front engine cradle is rotted with hole, when driving and transmission shift engine feels has it going to fall out. Because the cradle is week it wearing out the engine mont.

37 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2016

The engine cradle sub frame has rotted to the point where the car will not pass a NY safety inspection. All other frame components are in good shape, so it begs the question as to what was different about the manufacturing of the sub-frame? the issue is repairable, but it is a pretty costly fix (approx $2000) and it involves finding a replacement part from a vehicle outside of those states that routinely deal with road salt in the winter.

38 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2016

Driving 70mph on interstate, car suddenly feels as though it is hydroplaning but road surface is dry, no control over steering. Took to dealership who said rear suspension had collapsed the weight from this had shredded both new back tires down to steel belt $1200 repair bill. . . Also undercarriage is starting to rust out, have seen complaints of this on internet. . Chrysler will do nothing.

39 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/05/2016

¿excuse me, but I believe you dropped your engine back there. ¿ sounds ridiculous, right? and it is ¿ unless you own a 2004¿08 Chrysler Pacifica which has the dubious nickname of ¿engine-dropper. ¿ ok, I made that up ¿ but those cars do have a known issue where the engine cradles rust, rot and split apart to the point where the engine can actually fall out, so that nickname is entirely possible. But why these years specifically? and what is Chrysler doing to correct this dangerous problem? (spoiler alert: it¿s not much).

40 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2016

The engine cradle and the sub frame has severe corrosion and the mechanics told me it is no longer safe to drive and repairing it will require more than $5000. The car only has 60k miles on it.

41 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2016

Our 2006 Pacifica was making noise when turning and we took it in to be looked at. Turns out, the crossmember is rusting through and needs replaced ASAP before it causes major damage and a potentially life-threatening accident. It is apparently a common problem with this car made from 2004-2008, and it is due to Chrysler's negligence. They knew it was a problem and they have done nothing to recall or replace the problem part outside of a very narrow swath of 7000 cars. We are scared to drive our small children in this car until we get it fixed (and spend $2500 we don't have!).

42 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2016

Tuesday, October 25, 2016 the the engine cradle rusted through and the engine lowered and the cradle itself was dragging along the street. My wife was leaving our town of owosso, michigan to go to doctor appointments in lansing, michigan about 35 miles away. The Pacifica had 119,101 miles on it and was otherwise in excellent condition. We had purchased the car from a Chrysler dealership about 15 miles away about seven years prior with 42,000 miles on it. It had always been serviced at the dealership until the dealership was sold in February 2016. Without repair the value of the vehicle was just scrap metal, repair was an absolute to salvage any value, the repair cost $3214. 07.

43 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2016

I took my car in for a simple oil change. The mechanic told me the engine cradle is so rusted that he can stick his finger through it. He said it was dangerously close to rusting through to the point where my engine could fall out of the vehicle!.

44 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2016

My 2006 Chrysler Pacifica cradle is rusting out and the dealership that changed my oil said it is very dangerous to drive. I was also told by them that the 2004 and 2005 Chrysler Pacifica had recalls on this same issue but not the 2006. When I called Chrysler up to report this issue they told me that my VIN # is not on the recall and can not do anything about it. But as I read on here Chrysler should know about this issue. I have my grandson in my car a lot of the time and I hope and pray nothing happens to either one of us while I am driving this car. I can not afford to get this fixed because it is very expensive to repair.

45 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2016

We took our 2006 Chrysler pacific in for a repair. The mechanic called to report the engine cradle is severly rusted and unsafe to drive. Before this we noted some "clunking" in the front end but thought it was a suspension issue. We did not know that this vehicle had this engine cradle problem until the mechanic put the vehicle on the lift. We are face with a very costly repair because the vehicle is unsafe and essentially worthless. The mechanic said without warning the engine could have came loose and impeaded the ability to steer or brake. If we were on the highway we probably would have lost control and crashed.

46 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2016

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while at a dealer for inspection, the technician stated that the engine cradle had corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

47 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2016

The subframe of the vechile has corrosion. And is unsafe to drive. There are other complaints but I'm looking to see if has a recall.

48 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2016

Brought car in for repair and the shop would not even lift the car up due to the sub frame being in such poor shape. They advised me to call the dealership to see if there are any open recalls for the issue. Upon calling the dealership they let me know that as there are not any open recalls on this they do keep the engine cradle in stock as this is a very common issue. The part alone is almost $2,000. 00 and not even sure what the labor would be as of yet. As far as the rest of the complaints go looks as it will be over a $3,000. 00 fix. I have found out from the dealship that the previous years have been recalled for the same issue.

49 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2016

My engine cradle is almost rusted thru and my subframe is as well.

50 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2016

Sub frame which holds the engine has rusted through I several locations. Engine could "drop" at anytime while drive the car. 2005 models currently have a recall for the same issue.

51 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2016

Entered the freeway and after reaching speed of approximately 55-60 mph I heard a loud sound that sounded like a small explosion. Someone driving in the lane next to me began frantically pointing at the engine of my car. Immediately I saw smoke and flames coming from underneath the car's hood. I pulled off the exit that I was approaching, parked the car at the curb, jumped out the car, dialed 911. Fire department responded in a couple of minutes and by this time entire engine and hood was on fire. They put the fire out. Car was not able to be placed in neutral or any other gear, but was still towed to the dealership that performed repairs to fuel injectors and other components of the engine on February 2, 2016. During Feb. 2016 incident the gas pedal would not give power to make the car accelerate, car started smoking and giving off fumes that smelled like burning plastic. Car repairs were made in that incident. Going to have diagnostic performed to research if there is a connection/relation between February 2016 incident and June 2016 incident.

52 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2016

Vehicle had cradle rot requiring complete replacement of the assembly. Had brought the vehicle to a local nechanic to do some routine maintenance. Mechanic observed the rust/rot and was told that it was so severe that he would not allow me to drive the vehicle home because if the cradle broke completely through the engine would drop to the street rendering the vehicle 'totaled'.

53 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

The engine cradle is rusted out making this car extremely unsafe to drive. This car has been maintained throughout its life and is in excellent shape otherwise. However, the cost to replace the cradle has been quoted at $2500. 00.

54 Body problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2016

Front sub-frame has such severe rust that the car will no longer be able to pass a nys safety inspection.

55 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/29/2016

Well known issue with 2006 Chrysler Pacificas, the engine cradle rusts due to poor build and design. The car becomes unsafe to drive due to the possibility of the engine falling out of the car. Also will not pass an inspection. There is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue. Chrysler will not issue a recall. This is a safety issue! I have to keep putting "band-aids" on this just so I can continue to drive my car.

56 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2016

Brought our 2006 Pacifica in for a routine oil change and tire repair. Was told the subframe has rotted away. Our mechanic said he personally would not too many miles on the car and the repairs would cost anywhere from $3,000 - $5,000.

57 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2016

Subframe rot by the engine area. This is only on the passenger side. The drivers side is fine. I've read about legal action towards Chrysler regarding premature rotting and corroding for this car.

58 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2016

When we bought the car not 11 months ago we were never told about any structural damage. A week ago we noticed a bad thumping as we were driving, so we took it to a car shop and that's when they found over 4 inches of rust on both sides of the engine cradle and they told us it was unsafe to drive.

59 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2016

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While inspecting the vehicle, the mechanic stated that the subframe was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 138,000.

60 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2016

The center bearing/drive shaft is no good. I prepaid the dealer in March of 2016 for a new one. As of today Sep 18, 2006 it ha not come in yet. The car is undriveable. Excuse after excuse. I have notified the mass attorney generals office. There investigation. I also have a rotted sub frame. And the dealer wont stand behind it. I am looking to start or join a class action suit against Chrysler.

61 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2016

During an inspection of the car, it was observed that severe corrosion of the engine cradle has occurred. The corrosion is severe enough that it was recommended that the car not be driven. On the internet I note that there were recalls (or repairs) by Chrysler for 2005 model year cars but not 2006. The car is in excellent shape except for this cradle mount corrosion. I now have to repair the car for a cost that is more than the car is worth, or replace the Pacifica with equivalent for much more money. Chrysler should do something about this issue. Obviously, more than the 2005 cars are involved. According to the internet, there have been many reports of this problem.

62 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2016

I went in to get my oil changed in my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica that I've only had a year and a half the mechanic came out and got me to show me that our subframe and the rocker panels are all rusted out and he told me he didn't know how long it would last until the engine and the transmission and everything would fall out if the subframe would break why we were driving down the road he said you might want to get it checked out and so I took it and got it checked out and they told me that it would be up to $2500 to get it fixed if they didn't find anything else wrong why they were fixing it.

63 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2016

One side of my engine mount is rusting out badly as well. Would be nice to have a recall to repair this issue. I also have idling issues in which it seems like the car is going to die whether it's in park or drive. This has been going on for quite while now.

64 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2016

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for minor maintenance. The mechanic noticed that the passenger side frame that supported the engine was rusted. The mechanic advised that the frame needed to be repaired or the engine would fall off. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there were no recalls. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was 97,000.

65 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2015

The vehicle was stationary going through an inspection when it was determined that the sub frame, engine cradle is rotted to the point that it is unsafe to drive. The vehicle is less than 10 years old and around 100,000 miles. That is around 10k miles per year. The vehicle looks and runs great otherwise. If they know that it is a problem that places lives at risk, why don't they do the right thing and correct the problem.

66 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2015

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that the subframe was corroded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the subframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.

67 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2015

Engine cradle rusted and is unsafe to drive I called Chrysler they said too bad for me I have to pay for all repairs.

68 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2015

Took car in for oil change, mechanic told me that the engine cradle was showing some pretty severe rust issues. Was told that I would have to repair this soon, or risk having the engine drop out of the enclosing compartment. Repair estimated at $4500, which at this point is more than the car is worth. Contacted Chrysler, they said that there is no recall on this problem, so I was responsible for all repairs. Some research on the internet shows that this is a known and pretty widespread problem. Sorry to see that a company that I helped bail out a few years ago, doesn't stand by their product.

69 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2015

Engine cradle has rusted thru. Mechanic has suggested I not drive vehicle for my safety. Spoke with someone at Chrysler who indicated that there was a safety bulletin issued acknowledging and addressing the issue, but that the year of my vehicle was not included in the safety bulletin. Vehicle was purchased used from a Chrysler dealership.

70 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2015

The cradle rusted through on the right side of the vehicle. Was discovered during an oil change.
