Steering Column problems of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

My car on occasion had been feeling like it was cutting out, I thought I got some bad gas so I switched stations and noticed it less. Then about a month later, it just turned off in route. I was at a four way stop accelerated to go and it started out, I made it into the middle of the intersection and the car turned off. It gave a notice by steering column that it needs to be in park to start engine or something. It did it with about 13,000 miles on it. I was able to start the van after I put it in park with foot on brake and continue on. It happened so fast I was not sure what went wrong? now I read that many have had this happen as well. I am fearful now it will happen when I am going higher speeds, etc. This needs to be fixed!.

Additionally, there was a clicking in the steering wheel while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to steer. The contact also stated that the vehicle jerked while changing gears. The contact stated that the accelerator went to the floorboard however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact was concerned about rust to the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop and the vehicle was provided a rust treatment however, the rust spot increased in size after the treatment. The vehicle was taken to victory Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (45 naber dr, shallotte, nc 28470, (910) 356-9867) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The mechanic sealed the steering column with lock tight sealant however, the clicking sound returned and the vehicle remained difficult to steer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The approximate failure mileage 7,000.
