Electronic Stability Control problem #1

Driving on major highway at 70 mph, car suddenly lost power with no warning other than a message on dash parking brake may temporarily be unavailable, car did not shut off but gas pedal unresponsive. Pulled over, turned off car, restarted, put in drive, car did not move. New message: service trans, press brake when stopped, key off engine to engage park. Previous two days, had trouble ,took 4 try's to start car from key fob. Car has 30391 miles, I have owned it 2 months. Had to be towed to dealership.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

My van on multiple occassion has stalled in the middle of city intersections. While driving my car will have an electrical meltdown. All different warning messages will appear on dash, warning dings will go off, my wipers will go on without me turning them on, when I push the gas it will not drive. On one occasion the car accelerated without pressing the gas or if the gas was pressed it would accelerate more than the pedal was being pressed. All my buttons on my dash including a/c, auto start, back up camera/sensors will not respond. Its as though my car just dies. This occurrence has no common scenario that brings on the malfunction. I 've had times when it malfunctioned weeks apart and this last occurrence it was a year in between occurrences. I was told on a Chrysler forum to check my pcm. My batteries have been tested and passed. I currently do not have my aux battery installed as I do not want/like my autostart feature. This accident occurred all 5 times with my aux battery installed. My dealership said "too many electrical parts to check" and "we cant duplicate the problem/get error code to diagnose so take the van back till it happens again and call us while its happening and drive it in". First its unsafe and unpredictable. I have tried getting this fixed and they can't even/wont fix it or buy it back. No lemon law as I am second owner, not purchased new and the problems started happening at 34000 miles right before warranty expired. This vehicle is unsafe and Chrysler won't fix it/don't know how. No remedy after 2 years and 6/7 shop visits. I have opened a case with fca twice and they threatened me to pick up vehicle or they would charge me for the rental I had. Others have experienced this. Look at Chrysler Pacifica and voyager van on facebook.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

On four occasions, I started the van and it immediately became locked in park mode with a notice about electronic stability control issues. You can't turn off the vehicle or take it out of park. Chrysler is buying back the vehicle because they can't fix it.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

Car will stall out while it's in drive, but braking. Yesterday it did it as I was turning left in the middle of an intersection. It stalled and turned off the engine flashing fcw/ lanesense unavailable restart required. I then will have to shift to park and restart the car. This has happened several times and Chrysler has not fixed the issue.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

I returned home from driving a half an hour in my vehicle and when I pushed the start/stop button to turn the vehicle off it would not go completely off. The engine turned off but the sensors and radio would not turn off. Normally it shuts off when you open the door and it still would not work. So then I messed with things a bit and made sure all doors were shut. When doing so the back left door would not latch all of the way. It would go to shut and the open again before latching.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

My engine shuts off when it is idle. The start/stop battery was replaced 5 months ago.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Several times, while driving 20-30mph as well as when stopped at a red light or a stop sign, the car has lost power steering (steering wheel locks, brake seems to lock in place), unable to accelerate or decelerate, dashboard flashes some message along the lines of "stop/start required" or "shift to p then desired gear", but even when attempting to shut off the car and restart, sometimes this does not even work. At times it has taken 2-3 minutes to even get the car to shut off completely in order to try to turn it back on (as if the car is completely frozen). This has happened on side streets, as well as at a stop sign and a red light on a busy road, which left me blocking traffic for several minutes, unable to operate my vehicle. This has happened at least 5-6 times in the last year, most recently twice in the last week.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

26 June 2018, I leased the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica with the s appearance package VIN: 2c4rc1bgxjr293041 from ourisman Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram of alexandria, 5900 richmond hwy, alexandria, va 22303. First complaint: on Thursday, June 28th at 8:51am I reached out to mr. Bernard parker explaining to him the console was shorting out and at one point it had completely shut-off. . He instructed me to bring it back in and have it replaced so that Chrysler would have a record of the issue. -- this issue happened within days of purchase. Second complaint: on Monday, oct 1, 2018 the same 2018 Chrysler Pacifica with the s appearance package stalled, then shut off while driving home from real estate class (6 months pregnant). Suddenly for no reason, without warning the vehicle lost all electricity (including power steering, engine, interior and exterior light. ) right after flashing the following error: service electrical stability control, park brake unavailable, battery light, enter auto theft code, stop safely vehicle will shut off soon and other numerous errors. As the van slowed to a crawl, and passing vehicles drove by nervously trying to avoid hitting me, I edged off into a school parking lot. My vehicle was towed to ourisman Chrysler of bowie MD, 2406 crain hwy, bowie MD third complaint: on Sunday, Dec 8, 2019 the same 2018 Chrysler Pacifica with the s appearance package stalled then shut off on my husband, again, suddenly for no reason, without warning the vehicle lost all electricity (including power steering, engine, interior and exterior light. ) right after flashing the following error: service electrical stability control, park brake unavailable, battery light, enter auto theft code, stop safely vehicle will shut off soon and other numerous errors. Fortunately, my husband was able to coast it into the garage as it shut off, never to start again.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

My car will stall out on me while driving. The screen will flash stability control error and requires me to put it in park before restarting the car.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

Van will randomly not start after just being driven. Dash board lights up and engine clicks but will not turn over. Several messages come up for service. (see pictures attached. ) has happened once before about 2 weeks ago and there's no explanation as to why it started back up after about an hour of problem solving. Battery was fine. Headlights, horn, inside lights and radio all worked fine. When clicking on parking brake button, the lights flash on the dash and can hear clicks but won't turn on the brake.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

Power will be loss including radio frequently. When driving at low speeds such as in traffic the engine will stall and jerk.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

Car stops and sometimes it doesn't turn on.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

I purchased my vehicle 10/29/18 and its been a great vehicle til about July 2019. I have taken it to the dealership for them to fix a clicking noise in the front left side and everytime they change a bunch of parts but dont fix it. Now its a loud squeeking noise everytime I back out my driveway or pull off in drive. Ive taken 3 times and they cant figure out what it is. Ive have to rent a vehicle and the dealer also let me use a 2 door loaner knowing I have 4 kids. They keep saying bring it back Monday. Well thats only 1 problem. 3 times already when I put my car in reverse my backup camera comes on but dont go off when I put it in drive. So while im driving down the road my backup camera is on and is very distracting and dangerous. This past weekend my husband was driving while we were going somewhere, well we were in traffic on a very steep hill so he had to stop. When he went to step on the gas to go the car wouldnt go. It was like the car wasnt getting signal that the car was in drive. It was very scary. So many problems with this vehicle and the reason I purchase the 2018 Pacifica was because I heard it was a good car and dependable as I have 4 children that I have to get to and from school , doctors and sports. I really hope someone there at Chrysler can help me out.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

While stopped at a red light, the auto stop engaged. When taking the foot off the brake to disengage auto stop, the vehicle stalled out in the middle of the road. Multiple attempts were made to restart the vehicle. Hazard lights were enabled; however, the entire vehicle eventually shut down, including the hazard lights. This vehicle had been driving on the highway and city streets for the previous 20 minutes without any indication of the impending failure. Dealership service department initially believes fault lies with the battery, but how did the car get 20 minutes from home on a dead battery???.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

We have rented a Chrysler car for 1 day from budget rentals to take us from raleigh, nc to dulles airport, va. We drove the car to DC. We did setup the cruise control on 76 speed in 70 mph zone. The police stopped us on the I-95 in va and gave us a speeding ticket, according to him, we are driving in 86 mph. We did not realize the speed because not too many cars around, driving around 3am. We were so surprised about that ticket and how could this even happen. We thought that we were mistakenly reading the odometer readings. We received the ticket with reckless driving of 86/70 mph. We took deep breath and started driving again. We said ok let's setup the cruise control this time to 75 and watch it carefully. Within less than 20 seconds from setting up the cruise control, another police stopped us with speed of 85/70 mph, reckless driving. We had no idea what is going on. The two tickets were about 5 miles apart on the I-95, va. We decided this time not to use the cruise control and follow the cars flow around us. We did that for the rest of the trip, driving without the cruise control. All of the previous problems were nothing in comparison to the following. As we driving in va, around 7am where many cars on the I-95 to follow their pattern. We said let's just setup the cruise control for few seconds and compare it to the cars beside us. We setup the cruise on 75, we noticed a significant speed increase. I pushed the brakes, it did not stop this time. The car was driving in higher speed. While I was trying to act as fast as I could, I pushed the brakes and switched the stick from d to n. I tried to disable the cruise control this time, it did not work. We parked in a near gas station, took deep breath, turned off the car, went to the bathroom and got back on the road. Thankfully, the cruise control was disabled.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

Electrical and sensor issues. When my 2018 Pacifica is started in the morning I receive a fcw (front crash warning) after driving approximately one half mile and stopping at a stop light near my house. I have the gas saver on and my van will usually shut off. When I stop at the light, the console will flash fcw when no objects are in front or near me as well as two other censors flashing. The van completely shuts down and then flashes "start stop required". I then have to place the vehicle in park, turn it off, restart it, then shift back to drive all while in at an intersection. This has happened at least 12 times and creates a risk of being rear-ended. Since we purchased the van in August 2018, we have had: the uconnect center replaced on September 7 2018, the radio improperly activated or turned off incorrectly completely draining the battery requiring tow and service on April 12 2019, and the fcw was supposedly repaired on may 21 2019. Although it was "fixed" the fcw alert has occurred 3 times since it was returned less than 3 weeks prior.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

Two incidents which happened within 4 months of each other. I have had the car less than 9 months. Most recent was April 3rd, 2019. I was waiting at a traffic light when I went to let my foot off the brake to drive when all of sudden the car stalled. An alert came up on the screen to tell me the there was an issue with the electronic stability control. I had to turn the car off and back on again to get it to drive. I had two small children in the car both times it has happen. It's my only car. It says there is no recall for this. When you google this problem though apparently it's very common with this van and Chrysler has no fix. Many people had this happen to them while the car was in motion. This is extremely concerning & you should demand Chrysler fix this issue please.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

While car parked, turned car on, car stuck in "run" position, unable to change gears, unable to turn car off.

Electronic Stability Control problem #19

We bought the car as a certified used car from a dealership in February, 2019. The car is a 2018, and had 22,000 miles at time of purchase. The car first stalled in late March, 2019. It stalled while at a red light, and cars had to be directed around the car. My child was in the car with me at the time. An error message appeared with something regarding the stability control. Since that first time, the car has stalled at a light 2 more times. We are bringing the car back to the dealer for service. When we called to let the dealer know the issue, they said they've never heard of this happening. I find that hard to believe with so many similar complaints. I am very concerned that this is a known issue that is not being addressed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #20

My 2018 Chrysler Pacifica car stopped while I was driving. I had slowed down to make a left turn and it shut itself off. It quickly flashed a message about stability control and then showed stop, start, restart required. The car was still in drive. When I tried pressing the brake it was very hard and wouldn't move. I put the car in park and tried shutting it off and restarting it, but couldnt. I had a line of cars behind me, including a school bus and put my hazards on. I'm not sure how many tries it took, but I was finally able to get it to start and drive home. I have since driven the car without incident but I am very nervous that it will happen again. It seems like a huge safety risk.

Electronic Stability Control problem #21

Van will stall during low speed or idle. Stability/traction control will flash and van will need to be restarted. Has happened multiple times in intersections and once in stop and go highway traffic.

Electronic Stability Control problem #22

This complaint is just one of many I've had. Most recently, I've been stalled while waiting at a red light (thankfully) on a city street. I had an error message come on shortly followed by a prompt telling me that start/stop was required. So I had to put the car in park, restart and then car drove. This happened twice in one day and dealer couldn't find anything wrong. Left it has protocol passed all recommended checkpoints and that an engineer has to determine fix.

Electronic Stability Control problem #23

On several recent occasions, our 2018 Pacifica (with ~3k miles on it) has stalled on us at an intersection after an error in regards to stability control. This has happened to both me and my wife while driving, and has nearly caused accidents on multiple occasions. The vehicle message has instructed us to put the vehicle in park and restart, and this has happened to us while in the turning lane facing oncoming traffic. The issue has happened to me as we were slowing down just prior to turning. We have young children, and this is a serious safety concern for us.

Electronic Stability Control problem #24

On Sunday January 13th while getting off highway lost power steering while taking exit. Due to lack of power steering van went off the road up an embankment and damaged vehicle. I called Chrysler on 1/14/2019 and reported issue. Claim #57836097. I was told that someone from incident reporting team would be contacting me within 4-5 days. I have since called them again on 1/22/2019 and again today 1/28/2019. I have no choice but to drive vehicle because I am a 100% disabled veteran and in a powerchair. The van is customized for my powerchair and my only means of transportation. The power steering keeps going out intermittently and now other electrical issues are occuring now as well. The passenger side window comes down on its own, traction control light on dash goes on and off, stability warning flashes on dash and of course power steering light comes on and says service. Prior to the incident on the highway off ramp the steering went out for a few seconds. I brought it to bonneville dealer in manchester nh and they told me it was just a fluke. Obviously it was not a fluke and my van is now damaged. Drivers side sliding door does not close right and is bent upwards and not sure what else may be damaged. Waiting on Chrysler for next step.

Electronic Stability Control problem #25

My vehicle has been in for service at least 4 times for the stalling issue. I am either driving at 24mph or less and it just shuts off. Off. Sometimes im sitting at a light and it shuts off. I have almost been rear-ended 3 times. Police have had to direct traffic aroud me twice. My children are scared to ride in it. The media does not always work. A usb plug doesnt work the one used for car play. The rear sensors do not always work. This van is currently sitting in my garage. Useless to me. I am not putting my kids at risk any longer.

Electronic Stability Control problem #26

While car parked, turned on car, car stuck in "run" position, unable to change gears, unable to turn car off.

Electronic Stability Control problem #27

While driving my 2018 Pacifica in 45 mph traffic on a local road, the car flashed stability control and lost all power. The brakes went hard, the car completely stalled. The display read stability control then disappeared from the screen and it instructed me to put car in park and to restart the car. The second time this happened I was driving 50 mph on a state highway slowing to make a left turn when the vehicle did the exact same thing as stated above.

Electronic Stability Control problem #28

1. In motion on city streets vehicle has harsh shifting, jerks like its shifting into a different gear while driving under 40 mph. This started happening two weeks or so after purchasing this vehicle brand new and does this once to twice a week. 2. ) in motion on streets and freeway the stereo goes black randomly and will not turn back on, radio also will randomly jump from multiple stations including am/fm, carplay, etc. While driving. 3). In motion driving on city streets the vehicle antilock brake system kicked in while pulling out of driveway and stopped vehicle dead in its tracks with 3 children in the vehicle. I made multiple attempts and was unable to release antilock brake system for one hour until it automatically shut off and then was able to drive back into driveway.

Electronic Stability Control problem #29

The first incident occurred when I was in a parking lot. I got into my car and when I went to press the brake and push to start, my brake was locked and my computer started flashing service electronic stability control, park brake unavailable, enter auto-theft code and other numerous error messages. I had to have my car towed to the closest service and they didn't find anything wrong. Yesterday I was in traffic at a stop light and my car dinged, the check engine light came on, and my car said to put it in park and restart (this happened twice at the same light) then the error messages starting flashing (service air bag, service electronic stability control, blind spot alert unavailable, etc) today when I went to start my car the engine did not come on and the same error messages starting flashing as well as the check engine. This became an entirely new concern when this started happening while I'm driving. I have two small children in the car, and I'm pregnant. I just don't feel safe driving and this is our main vehicle, so we don't have much of a choice.

Electronic Stability Control problem #30

While driving approximately 35 mph, control panel stated "vehicle not in park" and then completely shut down. I had to coast into a parking lot. I put the vehicle in park and van restarted immediately. However, when I put the van into d (drive) the car reversed! I immediately braked and then preceded to drive forward. The "vehicle is not in park" has happened approximately 3 other times while driving but the engine never stopped. This is the 2nd time my vehicle has stalled while driving. It looses all power!!! the first time it was in the dealership, they could not detect any issues. It was very similar except the panel stated "vehicle is not in drive". This should not be happening to a brand new car! this is a safety issue and recalls should be placed as I have seen several other vehicles with similar problems. I have 3 small children and luckily they were not with me.

Electronic Stability Control problem #31

While car parked, turn car on, car stuck in "run" position, unable to change gears, unable to turn car off. (has occurred more than three dates/times).

Electronic Stability Control problem #32

Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica which was a trade in from another 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that within months of owning the vehicle the esc warning indicator remained illuminated which was the same failure from the other vehicle that was traded in for this vehicle. The dealer eastchester Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 4007 boston rd, bronx, NY 10466, (718) 547-5500 scheduled an appointment for next week to diagnose the vehicle. The contact was uncertain again if the manufacturer may not have a permanent remedy to repair the vehicle. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.

Electronic Stability Control problem #33

Tl-the contact owns a 2018 Chrysler touring plus. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact lost breaking and steering ability also, no warning indicators illuminated. The contact depressed the start button and the vehicle started normally. The vehicle was driven to a destination. The contact also stated that the failure occurred also on 05/19/2018. The vehicle was taken to the dealer naples Chrysler/Jeep/ram 6381 airport pulling road north, naples florida 34109,. The vehicle still at the dealer no diagnosis was render. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,300. Bp.

Electronic Stability Control problem #34

Power steering goes out while driving in service for second time with only 800 miles on it passenger front window rolls down while driving by its self passenger auto side door would open one day vehicle shut off and came to a complete stop in a parking lot with no notice or reason.

Electronic Stability Control problem #35

Bought vehicle on March 5, 2018, on the 2 hr drive home the cars main front center console starts rebooting and resetting over and over, the car then yanks us hard to the right and as I fight the driver assist mode to actually stay on the road, my husband and myself was plenty scared. We got the driver assist disabled, the heat was unable to be turned down, the steering wheel was so hot we had to put on gloves, the seat heat could not be shut down, we were with windows open in the snow, we had no choice. We attempted to restart the car, same functional issue. Contacted dealership following morning, informing them they said get in in right away, we took to local Chrysler on may 6th and they found nothing. They didn't believe us either. Happens again immediately the day after being there, again we took it in, they wanted it to continue when we pulled in we were told, I said it keeps taking us off the road. The 3rd time was the same only we almost side swiped another van by the skin of our teeth. Lucky we pulled hard and saved ourselves. It has now been at Chrysler repair more than 5-6 times same exact problem, their same exact excuses, no fix. Dealership where we purchased suggested we begin lemon law on it. I agree, I don't want to be the crash dummy. Chrysler has been notified online, they were insistent it can be fixed, its been a month, and they have had the car more than us, and they have put 1000 miles on it too, where as we barely got 450 with ride home. I have made first payment and have a rental now, a junkie one! please help us, this car is dangerous, and will cause a serious fatality the way it steers off suddenly. It is a catastrophe waiting to happen. On board computers fail on and off.

Electronic Stability Control problem #36

Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that within months of owning the vehicle the esc warning indicator remained illuminated. The dealer eastchester Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 4007 boston rd, bronx, NY 10466, (718) 547-5500 was unable to determine a remedy to repair the vehicle, the vehicle was not repaired and they provided a trade in of the same year, make and model. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and had no specific solution other than to trade the vehicle in for the same vehicle which was not a repair remedy according to the contact. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.
