Car Stall problems of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica - part 1

I was stopped at light going straight and when the light turned green, I pressed on the gas pedal but the van wouldn't move as it had stalled out. The shift knob was stuck on drive which started blinking and the start/stop warning light came on. I turned the vehicle off and tried to restart it but it still failed to move. I tried to restart it a second time and this time it did start to move. Extremely inconvenient and unsafe when stuck in the middle of an intersection. Also have had issues with the left passenger rear door continously opening back up after trying to close it. Nothing is in the way of the door which I had confirmed multiple times so I'm not sure if something is wrong with the sensor or if it's part of the electrical system failing.

The vehicle stalled in the middle of a city intersection. I was at a full stop at a stoplight, then when the light turned green, I proceeded forward into the intersection. After pulling into the intersection, the van stalled. I had to put the vehicle into "p" park and then restart the vehicle. Our family was in the vehicle and had a near miss with oncoming traffic.

My van on multiple occassion has stalled in the middle of city intersections. While driving my car will have an electrical meltdown. All different warning messages will appear on dash, warning dings will go off, my wipers will go on without me turning them on, when I push the gas it will not drive. On one occasion the car accelerated without pressing the gas or if the gas was pressed it would accelerate more than the pedal was being pressed. All my buttons on my dash including a/c, auto start, back up camera/sensors will not respond. Its as though my car just dies. This occurrence has no common scenario that brings on the malfunction. I 've had times when it malfunctioned weeks apart and this last occurrence it was a year in between occurrences. I was told on a Chrysler forum to check my pcm. My batteries have been tested and passed. I currently do not have my aux battery installed as I do not want/like my autostart feature. This accident occurred all 5 times with my aux battery installed. My dealership said "too many electrical parts to check" and "we cant duplicate the problem/get error code to diagnose so take the van back till it happens again and call us while its happening and drive it in". First its unsafe and unpredictable. I have tried getting this fixed and they can't even/wont fix it or buy it back. No lemon law as I am second owner, not purchased new and the problems started happening at 34000 miles right before warranty expired. This vehicle is unsafe and Chrysler won't fix it/don't know how. No remedy after 2 years and 6/7 shop visits. I have opened a case with fca twice and they threatened me to pick up vehicle or they would charge me for the rental I had. Others have experienced this. Car will stall out while it's in drive, but braking. Yesterday it did it as I was turning left in the middle of an intersection. It stalled and turned off the engine flashing �fcw/ lanesense unavailable restart required. � I then will have to shift to park and restart the car. This has happened several times and Chrysler has not fixed the issue.

The van stalls at all different speeds. Losing all control ad having to coast off to the side of the highway because the car has completely lost power. When I am accelerating, the vehicle is jerking around 10-20 mph, almost like a violent jolt. (at times seems like someone is rear ending us) the dealership says that everything is functioning as it should be. This makes me extremely concerned for the safety of my family and my kids. This has happened numerous times. Also the sliding doors open and close on their own. My 6yo was nearly caught in one as it closed. I have video of the car stalled in a parking lot as well.

Vehicle stalled out while driving. Emoted a burning smell. Made it to the side of the road and saw smoke. Opened the hood and saw the catilac converter was glowing red. Huge risk of fire.

The vehicle stalls and has trouble starting at times, the steering pulls and caused 1 accident and almost caused 2 more accidents, sliding door doesn't open with key fob or push button in vehicle at times. Brought to dealer 2 times for issues to date. There r recalls for these issues but not for my specific van. It's affecting more than th one listed for recalls.

2018 Chrysler Pacifica. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle stalling. The consumer stated the battery was dead upon purchase. The dealer replaced it. A week after purchasing the vehicle it would not start. It had power, but the key fob could not be detected. The sliding doors reopened after being closed. The vehicle applies the brakes when reversing or going forward as if to stop a crash. The vehicle jolts/lunges and rolls a little when shifting gears. The engine rattles for a few seconds after the vehicle was shut off. The vehicle stalled/idled and shut down while at a stop sign and in traffic. The dash displayed engine stop start system malfunction.

When stopped at a stoplight, my car used the stop/start function. When I tried to accelerate, the car stalled and wouldn't let me turn it back on or turn the dial to move it to neutral. It stayed like that for a couple minutes and then I was able to start it, but now I have a light on my dashboard indicating that the stop/start isn't available. I was traveling 500 miles from home on vacation with my family.

On may 25, 2019, as I was driving on a highway at about 40 mph with two little children in the car, my Chrysler Pacifica suddenly stalled and the engine died. Two error messages came one a picture of a battery and one a picture of a turtle. The car died in the middle of the highway and it was extremely dangerous, especially in rainy conditions. I had to wait for a tow truck in rain and in dangerous conditions to get it towed to the dealership. The engine would not engage even after being jump started.

On two occasions, the vehicle has stalled at a stop light with the auto stop/start disengaged. On both occasions, the vehicle information system said to put the vehicle into park and restart it. I've checked with the dealer and they have never heard of the issue before.

We bought the car as a certified used car from a dealership in February, 2019. The car is a 2018, and had 22,000 miles at time of purchase. The car first stalled in late March, 2019. It stalled while at a red light, and cars had to be directed around the car. My child was in the car with me at the time. An error message appeared with something regarding the stability control. Since that first time, the car has stalled at a light 2 more times. We are bringing the car back to the dealer for service. When we called to let the dealer know the issue, they said they've never heard of this happening. I find that hard to believe with so many similar complaints. I am very concerned that this is a known issue that is not being addressed.

Vehicle stalled multiple times requiring shift to park and manual restart. Vehicle was at idle in left turn lane of major city road with 4 occupants. Vehicle has stalled at low speed in parking lot immediately after stating to move from a stop with 4 occupants.

On several occasions while driving, the vehicle has stalled. Forcing us to put the car in park and restart the engine. This has happened pulling into busy intersections and once occurred on train tracks. My wife and I are afraid to drive our brand new Mini van.

Intermittently when stopped , the car stalls. Messages flash saying "fcw unavailable" and "acc unavailable" "lanesense unavailable" service required. The car has to be restarted. I have had it at dealer several times and they cannot fix. It's dangerous as I have almost been rear ended at stop signs or stop lights since it's stalled. I happens usually right after stopping. There is no pattern but happens about 25% of the time I am driving.

On multiple occasions the vehicle has stalled out while waiting for stop lights and just in a stopped position. In order to restart the vehicle it had to be placed in park. It does start immediately however is a serious safety concern leaving us to wonder if this will occur during actual driving.

Pacifica was coming to a stop after a military checkpoint and the vehicle stalled while coming to a stop. The speed was less than 30 miles per hour the vehicle showed a service electronic suspension and needed to be placed in park to restart. It did restart immediately.

Van will stall during low speed or idle. Stability/traction control will flash and van will need to be restarted. Has happened multiple times in intersections and once in stop and go highway traffic.

When driving the van turned off completely & shut down in traffic. Had to put it in park and restart the van then the van was stalling and did not run normal it was pulling like it was going to die again. In motion on the highway was scared had my 3 kids with me. This is not the first time that the van felt that it was going to die. Week before it didn't want to get speeding while trying to enter the free way. It slowed down then caught speed.

The car stalls while driving. This continues to occur after the NHTSA recall 18v-332 has been completed. The dealer cannot reproduce the problem.

The engine start/stop feature of this van is faulty and Chrysler knows it. Because they do not have a fix for this issue they cannot place a recall. This issue is not limited to my personal van. Our particular vehicle has less than 13,000 miles and has been in the service department 5 times. 3 for the same issue. We have stalled out in intersections 4 times. One time we (wife and children) were almost struck by a truck. This is a serious safety issue. Again Chrysler is aware and only offered an extended service agreement.

While driving my 2018 Pacifica in 45 mph traffic on a local road, the car flashed �stability control� and lost all power. The brakes went hard, the car completely stalled. The display read �stability control� then disappeared from the screen and it instructed me to put car in park and to restart the car. The second time this happened I was driving 50 mph on a state highway slowing to make a left turn when the vehicle did the exact same thing as stated above.

While stopped at a red light, and the auto shut off feature shut the car off, the vehicle would not start up again. This caused the car to be stalled out in middle of the road on a city street. Only a few minutes later did the car start up again.

An independent mechanic stated that the horn was built without a fuse and that one needed to be installed. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle lost power without warning. The vehicle was taken to dadeland Chrysler Dodge (16501 s dixie hwy, miami, FL 33157), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed and assigned a technician. The failure was escalated to a higher office of the dealer. The failure mileage was 18,600.

I have experienced my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica stalling at varying speeds, including while idling, making turns and traveling under 40 miles per hour on municipal roads. When it does stall out, the dash displays �electronic stability control. Requires restart. � I have almost been in multiple accidents due to this issue. I have brought it up with the dealership and they have said Chrysler does not have a fix for it.

The vehicle was taken to phillips Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (located at 3440 s pine Ave, ocala, FL 34471, (352) 732-7577) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure or retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 7,000.

The start/stop fuel economy system does not work. I have taken it to the shop 3 times to get this repaired. Once to have them identify the problem, then order replacement battery. Twice a new battery has been installed and the system still does not work. I have approximately 3000 miles on this vehicle and it has never worked after the initial test drive. The dash board gives various reasons why it can't work but none of these conditions or situations but none seem related to actual, current operation of the car: engine is not warmed up or the steering wheel turned to sharply. I purchased the vehicle with 60 miles on the odometer in August 2018.

If they could not diagnose it in two days, they would have to return the vehicle to the contact . The manufacturer was called and immediately transferred the contact back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 8,000.

6/20 the engine light came on. The dealership claimed that they performed the dtc inspection and a system update (to prevent vehicle from stalling). The vehicle was returned on 6/23 and it broke down on 6/24. The car went from 10mph to 43 mph when pressing on the gas and then instantly stopped at around 10mph. The vehicle turned off and was unable to start and had to be towed back to the dealership. I hit a curb and if I was not an experienced driver I could have killed someone or myself or my 3 children could have been harmed if they were in the vehicle. I have provided a video of the incident on my youtube and the documentation from what the dealership said they performed on the vehicle. This car needs to be recalled and off of the road. Please save lives because this was very scary and I fear getting back into the vehicle if they fix it. I do not want it back. I want safety for my children and myself. Tl the contact leases a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled numerous times when attempting to accelerate from a stop. The contact took the vehicle to sterling heights Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (40111 van dyke avenue, sterling heights, mi 48313, (586)-939-3900) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump control module and fuel pump relay failed. The vehicle was not repaired; however, the dealer replaced the start and stop engine battery. The failure was not remedied. The dealer also test drove the vehicle and was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 3,000.

The contact lost breaking and steering ability also, no warning indicators illuminated. The contact depressed the start button and the vehicle started normally. The vehicle was driven to a destination. The contact also stated that the failure occurred also on 05/19/2018. The vehicle was taken to the dealer naples Chrysler/Jeep/ram 6381 airport pulling road north, naples florida 34109,. The vehicle still at the dealer no diagnosis was render. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,300. Bp.

Within 2 months of buying the vehicle, the minivan stalled and died on a highway (I-80). Luckily it was early morning (6 am) and there wasn't anyone behind me or next to me. So was able to maneuver to the right shoulder. Car was towed to local dealership. Problem was supposedly fixed, but not assurance from Chrysler. Did I get a lemon? are there others who have had similar issues with this minivan?.
