36 Headlights problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/15/2007

Headlight bulbs keep burning out. At least 6 times since 2007. The first time both lamps were replaced even though only one had gone out, the rest of the times they were replace individually and every time sylvania bulbs were used. I feel this constitutes a safety problem and not normal maintenance. Also the drivers door lock mechanism broke in Dec. 2009 where the door would not latch close and had to be tied shut the take it for repair. I feel this is also a serious safety failure.

I currently have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica touring fwd that was purchased on June 28,2008. Since the time of purchase I have had to replace my driver's side headlight bulb 3 times. I have placed a call to the dealer I purchased the car from and also Chrysler's customer service. They tell me that my VIN number does not appear on any recalls that they have. I however, do not understand and have never had a vehicle that has needed a headlight replaced those many times in one year.

Headlights and dash lights alternate erratically from bright to dim at lower engine speeds. Sometimes almost off then very bright. Some times think will go out all together.

Failure Date: 01/15/2007

Low beam head light burns out at 34k miles. Replaced h7 (oem) lamp myself because dealer claims it is a maintenance item and not covered under warranty. Upon installing new lamp the other low beam lamp expired. I believe there is a defect and checked my car stats to verify any reports. I see I am not alone.

Headlights stopped working on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica , and the 2005 Pacifica was recalled for the same problem. But, the dealer said this vehicle was not covered under the recall because a different part was replaced. Also, model year was not part of the recall. The headlights would not work.
