36 Seats problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/21/2021

This vehicle comes equipped with stow n go middle seats. It is a useful feature for sure. However, upon placing one of the seats back into its locked position, the headrest would no longer stay locked in its upright position. Upon taking the headrest apart to try to fix the issue, I found a very cheap plastic mechanism inside that had snapped. This very flimsy plastic piece is very much liable to fail in an accident, and cause the headrest to flop forward and not provide the support required.

38 Seats problem of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/01/2019

The third row bench seems easily capable of popping off its attachment to the floor with a bit of pressure. When we installed our baby car seat in the third row for the first time, we locked it in place with the seat belt and then tightend the seat into place by using the electric recline to squeeze some extra room and make sure there was no give. At some point we tightened the recline too much and the base of the whole third row popped off of the floor. Everything seemed fine once we started over and reset the seat in place. I also disconnected the power recline button in that row so that our son wouldn't be able to re-create that issue. However, a few weeks ago my wife was putting some large items in the car and she was trying to put down the third row passenger seat using the recline buttons in the trunk. She accidentally pushed the recline button for the half of the row the baby car seat is in instead of the side of the row with an empty seat. Again, the whole third row popped apart from the floor at its base. To fix it I uninstalled the car seat and then reinstalled the third row bench and then the car seat again. This second incident got me wondering how much pressure it takes for the third row to detach from the floor? I'm concerned that in an accident the whole back of the car would become very dangerous and seat belts and car seats would do little to protect anyone from a floating bench. By putting the car seat in place and tightening the recline we must be putting a lot of pressure on the floor attachments and any added pressure potentially pulls it right off. That seems like a huge design flaw. In the manual all it says in a collision, you or others in your vehicle could be injured if seats are not properly latched to their floor attachments. Always be sure the seats are fully latched.

39 Seats problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/24/2018

The engine start/stop feature of this van is faulty and Chrysler knows it. Because they do not have a fix for this issue they cannot place a recall. This issue is not limited to my personal van. Our particular vehicle has less than 13,000 miles and has been in the service department 5 times. 3 for the same issue. We have stalled out in intersections 4 times. One time we (wife and children) were almost struck by a truck. This is a serious safety issue. Again Chrysler is aware and only offered an extended service agreement.

40 Seats problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/23/2018

I had a problem with the electronic injection for more than 3 times, and a piece that was solved was replaced. A short time later, on my alternator, it had to be changed. Now I'm having trouble with my air conditioner, which freezes and stops to freeze suddenly. Probably an electrical problem or some part that does not start and does not start the compressor.

41 Seats problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/02/2018

3rd row Pacifica seats have a button to recline seats back and forward within reach of children in car seats which causes car seats to become loose and no longer installed properly. This is a family vehicle and I am concerned this will cause injury because there is no way to disable or child lock the seat recline. Attempts to contact the dealership and Chrysler customer service has led to no immediate resolve or acknowledgment that this could cause injury to children in car seats. The button is available for use while the car is in motion or parked.

42 Seats problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/19/2017

The 2nd and 3rd row are not compatible with proper car seat installation.

~tl the contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. When a child seat was placed in the middle row seat and a passenger in the third row pressed the lever of the middle row seat, it would cause the seat to move forward. The manufacturer and a local dealer were contacted and stated that there was no locking mechanism to prevent the seat from moving. The contact felt that this was a safety hazard in the event of a crash. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 21,930.

44 Seats problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/11/2017

I was driving my Pacifica and my grand daughter pushed the driver side stow and go button. The driver's seat moved forward and crushed me against the steering wheel. This function (the stow and go) should not work when the car is in motion. Chrysler said they could not fix this unsafe situation. Gastonia Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram said they can not fix this defect.

45 Seats problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/09/2017

I have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While you are driving, if someone pushes the driver's side stow and go button, the driver's seat will move forward and push the driver into the steering wheel. This stow and go function should not work while the car is in gear. It is a very unsafe situation. Chrysler says they can not fix the problem. There should be a recall on this problem or someone is going to get hurt.

49 Seats problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/24/2015

The electrical component on moving my seats failed years ago. I've had electrical lights/ glitches in the dash showing problems with the airbag. This past weekend, I took my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica in for repairs to the alternator and was informed the cradle/frame suspension on my vehicle is rusted through. The mechanic informed me that this framing should not rust through if it was coated properly and if it continues to rust through, the engine block will drop out. I was quoted over $2,000 to purchase a used part and to complete the repairs.

50 Seats problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/01/2014

Purchased the car Aug, 2014. Previous owner also had same issues. Has been in shop several times, unable to pinpoint cause/remedy situation. Seat controls do not work, remote keyfobs do not work, interior lights, head lamps, no electrical function present unless key is in ignition, in the "on" position. When shutting off the car, all lights on the dashboard light up and the only way to shut them off is to push on and then off the hazard lights. This will cause all electrical to go out, including the head lamps and all interior lights. If you do not turn them off by using the hazard lights, it will kill the battery. We have replaced the fuses in for the seats several times. They work for a bit and then blow out again. The mechanics have gone as far as to replace the wiring assembly and still no remedy. I don't know how there is not a recall on this vehicle.

51 Seats problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

My car seats move while I am driving automatically. With my seat belt on sometimes I cant touch the pedals. Also, my car is stalling and it eats oil nonstop. I have had it checked and nothing is shown as wrong. I see there was a recall for this model and it was done so why is this still happening. Seat issue is very dangerous, I have to drive and hold the button forward on the door to stop it from moving.

52 Seats problem of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate and the brake pedal became jammed. The contact applied excessive force to the accelerator pedal before it became dislodged. Additionally, the contact was unable to adjust the front driver¿s seat. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

53 Seats problem of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/29/2012

Both electric seat adjusters just stopped working. The driver's side seat is so far back that it's not really safe to be driving, and both seats are stuck in an uncomfortable position. The driver's side seat is stuck in the "exit the car" position, so it must have stopped working last Sunday when I drove it and then parked it for the night. Now it's too far back for me to operate safely and I am sadly disappointed in Chrysler. This should be fixed for free in my opinion, because I see many complaints online about the same problem. What a piece of junk.

Failure Date: 06/27/2009

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. Since may of 2009, the contact has noticed white foam on the floor of the vehicle. She discovered that the foam was falling from the back padding of the driver's seat. The seat was intact, but the contact believed that the foam was dry rotted. The vehicle was taken in to have the dry rotted foam repaired; however, the contact did not want to pay for the repair. Chrysler stated that they would have paid for the repair if the vehicle had less than 36,000 miles. Chrysler admitted that there was a defect, but would not cover the repair due to the mileage on the vehicle. The failure mileage was 46,000.

59 Seats problem of the 2008 Chrysler Pacifica
