When the weather is hot and the air conditioner is on, the car will shudder when idling (not in park). The shuddering can get quite violent, and if I'm making a tight turn, switching gears, and making another tight turn the car will sometimes die. Thankfully, this hasn't happened in traffic, but I fear that it will. This has happened a few times since I've been driving this car.

The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. The contact stated that after inspecting the vehicle he noticed the air conditioner accumulator leaks water onto the fuel lines. The fuel line had rusted through and was leaking fuel. The contact stated the fuel line needed to be replaced and a shield would have to be installed between the air conditioner accumulator and the fuel line. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 96,086.

I have had this 2006 Pt Cruiser for over a year and a half. Within that year and a half, I have now had to replace the tires, brakes. The air conditioner just went out. This car has been horrible. I can't blow the horn without pounding it. The lamp assemblies hold moisture, the thing drinks gas and right now with gas prices this is a problem. Yet, nobody wants me to trade it because it isn't worth a penny because nobody wants them. They need to recall the fact they lied on the stickers about gas mileage. I may get 17 miles per gallon. Horrible car. I hope people stop buying them until they fix the problems they already have.

I kept smelling this stench odor in my car, it appeared to be coming from the air conditioner. I though maybe either a cat or baby squirral got up in the engine & died. Could not find anything, so we took it to the dealer, since we could only smell it when we turned on the fan. The dealer in tampa knew right away what the problem was, said mold was growing in the air vents, and flushed a chemical in there to kill the mold. That only temporarily solved the problem, so I took it to a different dealer, closer to my home. Told them to fix the problem, not just mask it with chemicals. They claimed the car was coming from something other than the air conditioner & air vents, and refused to fix it. I called the Chrysler ho, and they sided with the dealership.
