We took our beautiful Pt Cruiser into las vegas #chapman Dodge Chrysler on 10-13-17 because the #engine light was staying on. They installed an expensive �defective� Chrysler #mopar totally integrated power module (tipm) and an expensive �defective� mopar Chrysler power train control module (pcm). Between 10-13-17 to 11-21-17 (approximately one month) I had to return my Chrysler for repairs five (5) times & they installed three (3) pcms & two (2) tipms which were no good!!! my car's engine light came on again on 12-11-17 and my car accelerated by itself, and we crashed!!! this was only nineteen (19) days after my car's very last visit to las vegas chapman #Dodge Chrysler on 11-21-17. Our car sustained great body damage. It cannot be driven. Thank father god no one was killed!!! we had no idea what happened until we read an article about Chrysler's defective totally integrated power modules problems titled �Chrysler tipms causing power problems - updated October 15, 2016� Chryslerproblems. The contact stated that she constantly had to refill the power steering fluid and was unable to determine what was causing the leakage. The contact was included in NHTSA campaign id number: 04v268000 (steering) but did not receive notification of the safety recall and was to check with the manufacturer and the dealer to determine when the recall repair would be performed. The manufacturer was notifed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 155,621. Dyd.

While driving the down the highway, the entire rear quarter window on the passenger side including the frame and the glass separated from the body of my vehicle and went into the roadway. This is already a recall issue for the 2005 and 2006 models of the Pt Cruiser, but since it is not an existing recall issue with the 2001 models Chrysler refused to replace the window that fell out or the remaining rear quarter window on the drivers side, which could potentially do the same thing at some point. Fortunately, the window that fell off my car didn't injure anyone, but it certainly seems like a pretty serious road hazard.

When we got the car back we noticed that the airbag light would stay on for a minute or two and then go off. This continues to happen. The car repair shop checked seat belts and such. The air bags did not deploy as this was a rear end collision. I feel like this is a safety hazard. The repair shop has had to repair work that was not done right. Faulty firewall. The firewall around the clutch master cylinder is twisting and splitting. This is a safety issue. If this can happen around the clutch, it can happen around the brakes. This needs to be looked at and fixed.

The contact was able to open the door by opening the window and then the door from the exterior. The failure also occurred on the front passenger side door and the rear driver and passenger side doors. The contact noticed a plastic piece on the door would over heat and cause the doors not to open from the interior. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the technician stated the door panel had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

2005 Pt Cruiser convertible 5 spd manual. Have been very unsatisfied w/ car's performance. Bearings in both front axles had to be replaced at 61,000 miles b/c of significant wear, making car unsafe to drive. Right front wheel squeaked when I turned or just drove straight, and started making thumping noise in axle as I drove. Also, roof has a minor leak into trunk when it rains hard; cannot find the source where it is leaking.

My 2001 Chrysler Pt Cruiser has discolorations (white stripes) on the dark gray front and back bumpers because the auto maker put plastic and tape on them to protect them in delivery. The adhesive in the tape has destroyed the finish on the gray plastic. This started to show up after 6 years of owning it when it sat in the sun. Most of the time I have owned this vehicle it was parked in a garage. For the past year it has been parked outside. This was when the stripes started to show up. Chrysler is aware of the problem and says they have a "TSB" on it but says they are not willing to fix it and that I (the consumer) have to go buy products to fix it myself, which I don't understand how you can make sun bleaching and fading go away, it's permanently damaged. They stated that under no circumstance will this be covered under warranty. I have driven around to see if other pt's are having the same problem and every Pt Cruiser I have seen with a gray plastic bumper has the same defect. I have taken photos of 5 different ones just today. This is irresponsible for Chrysler to deny they are at fault when clearly they caused the problem by putting tape on our bumpers. If my car had been in to a repair shop and they had placed tape on the bumpers they would be responsible and liable for their actions. I am frustrated that they won't do anything to fix this problem. These discolorations are a permanent problem and are sun bleached, they won't just go away. I would like my bumpers either replaced or painted to match the rest of the car. I am also spreading the word to other Pt Cruiser owners, in hopes that Chrysler will see that this is a big problem and is not going to go away on its own. This will cause a financial hardship on my family to repair this ourselves.

The car sits too low to the ground. I am a cautious driver, but the bummper too easily scrapes when driving over bumps or slightly steep inclines/declines, as well as when parking, too easily to scrape over curbs. This has caused the bumper to crack on the left side, over the head light, completely detached from the car in along a 6 inch line. There is no way to fix without replacing the whole bumper/grill cover. I am in constant fear of the bumper falling off as I struggle to save enough money to replace. I truly regret purchasing this vehicle!.
