Three problems related to check engine light on have been reported for the 2002 Chrysler Sebring. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When ur driving down the road the engine just shuts down like u turned off the key. It isn't over heating and no check engine light so I cannot figure out why it keeps doing this and it has a new battery . I just bought the car.
: the contact stated the motor stalled while the vehicle was in gear and would not restart. The check engine light did not illuminate prior to the incident. A mechanic determined that sludge built up in the engine caused the motor to stall. The manufacturer determined that the vehicle's proper oil levels have not been maintained, however the contact disagreed.
I was driving me car and the engine locked up. I had no warning from the oil and engine lights. I had it towed to the dealer, and they said a bearing in the piston had spun from engine sludge. I saw on line that they are having problems with this and won't do anything about it.
