The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign numbers: 07v414000 (latches/locks/linkages) and 07v240000 (air bags) but the VIN was not included in both. While driving on a highway at high-speed, all the electrical instruments began flashing on/off. The airbag light began flashing and a chime could be heard. This occurs intermittently (3-5 times per year) and Chrysler cannot properly diagnose the problem. With this latest incident, the dealership told me it would cost $800 for a new power control module. I researched online only to learn there are thousands of people with identical complaints about their Chrysler vehicles, while NHTSA refuses to order a recall. I refuse to allow Chrysler to perform work on this vehicle unless they can guarantee the repair and cap the cost. I purchased this vehicle new and Chrysler failed to disclose two auto body repairs performed prior to sale - I discovered this on the Chrysler website and since spent over $1,500 to repair it because Chrysler refused to accept any responsibility after the lemon laws expired.

The airbag light has come on and off for the last couple of month. I took it to the dealership and also did some research online regarding the light only to find that this is a more than common, irreparable issue. On 2/10/2015, while driving- specifically coming to a stop, I saw a swirl of what appeared to be smoke, coming out around the steering column. A woman, with only my son in the car, I was fearful, pulled the car to the side and had it towed. I have since been advised that what I saw was not smoke, rather, powder from the airbag which is apparently leaking. That has not been repaired. I resumed driving and after about a day and a half, the air bag light is back on.

Air bag indicator light constantly beeps and stays on for periods of time. When I'm on the on-ramp entering a highway and driving in a curve the brake indicator light comes on. Sometimes it comes on while driving on a flat surface. Since I've had this car, the right front tire pressure has never read. It just reads -- where the number should be. I have had to replace my crank position sensor twice. I lost acceleration while driving. The second time I had to replace the electrical throttle something (etc) as well. Now it is out a 3rd time. Luckily I was in my driveway this time! please recall!.

My airbag light keeps coming on depending on the position of the passenger seat. It came on the beginning of the month and I took it to the used car place I bought it from and they don't know what they are doing there so I took it home and was playing with the seat and if the seat is pushed back the light goes on but if it is forward the light comes on. Sometimes it takes a minute or you will start driving and it pops on. What should I do?.

I have experienced steering problems and an airbag light on since I purchased this used 2010 Sebring in June 2013 at the "naples Dodge/Chrysler" dealership. The car had/has popping creaking noises that came from the front end. I did some research and found out that Chrysler has recalls on 2010 Sebrings regarding the power steering (NHTSA campaign # 10va75000). I took in in to be checked. The naples dedge service manager told me that my car model was not involved with the recall. Naples Dodge did find a problem with the steering and replaced the steering gear, rack and pinion and adjusted the toe and alignment. The used car warrantee paid for it except for my $50 deductible. Since this repair the airbag light remains on. I was told by the dealer serviceman that the light would go off after a while. It has never gone off. I had it checked twice and have been given two opinions on the air bag light. 1. It's ok ignore it 2. I have no airbag protection. I trust #2 mechanic and feel unsafe in this car, unlike any of the cars I've had in the past 45 years. To this day the steering feels funny, makes little popping noises, and the light is still on and Chrysler has a new recall for airbags (NHTSA 14v35400). Lets see if the Dodge/Chrysler dealership takes any responsibility? I have had numerous expensive repairs with this 2010 Sebring. I used to own a 2005 Sebring and I had few problems and loved the car. Since fiat took over Chrysler there are numerous complaints, according to mechanics and the general public. I believe the car has been engineered to fail. I have about $4,000 in repairs to prove it. I will never buy a Chrysler again.

Air bag light came on as I was pulling out of a parking lot. Turning the steering wheel, it made a bit of a crunching sound. Light stayed on; sound happened whenever steerting wheel turned. Called mechanic and was told the car is unsafe to drive as the air bag may deploy. Further diagnostic revealed the need for a replacement clock spring for the air bag which is an expensive repair but the car was deemed too unsafe to drive as it is. Some time back, I was hearing a squeaking while turning the wheels very slowly and thought it was a tire issue, but nothing appeared to be a problem there.

Warming the car in the driveway and both airbags deployed. Private driveway, no collision or other possible shock. The air bag indicator had been lit for approx 2 months and I had scheduled repairs but had not had them completed. Car was at idle after approx 10 minutes of idle running.

Attempted to start vehicle in the morning, turned the key to crank motor and the engine would not start but continued to crank. Eventually it stopped cranking, I attempted to start vehicle again then it started. Began driving my car down the highway and the air bags light started going off and stayed on for the rest of my drive. Also while driving around corners the brake light will go off as well as going down some hills.

However when I call Chrysler I was informed my VIN does not match the vehicles that were in the recall, therefore it is my responsibility to correct this repair. When I asked kelly with whom may I speak to I was informed no one. She will enter the information in her system.

When my husband drives my car, he moves the seat back. When I drive my car, I move the seat forward. This action causes the airbag light on the dash to come on. When I move the electronically controlled seat forward/backward, the airbag light will "sometimes" go off. The NHTSA ref 07v240000 references a recall for the front seat track position sensor. I contacted Chrysler to see if my car is one that has been recalled. I'm told that it is not. I think it should be.

My airbag light came on and the dealer wants $550 to fix it. I think it is a safety issue and should not be so expensive to fix. I am now driving with no airbag due to a bad clockspring in the stteering wheel. On my 1996 it was a recall and the dealer had to fix it for free, why don't they do it on this newer model. The cost is way too high for the part and amount of time it would take them to replace it.

Front driver seat started feeling loose, airbag light came on, low tire light came on and check oil light would come on every time car is started. A few days later the car didn't feel right and started making a loud knocking noise, took it to the mechanic and found out that tensioner belt became loose causing damage to the car. I was charged $120 for diagnostics and I was told it was an airbag sensor that would cost upward of an additional $450 to repair. I found there was a recall issued by the national highway traffic safety association for this problem with the 2007 Chrysler Sebring back in June of 2007. The recall campaign # is NHTSA-07v240000. I called diamler Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 to get the problem resolved and to recover the $120 I paid to the goldstein dealership for an issue that was covered in a recall. Diamler Chrysler said they had no recall for an airbag sensor on the 2007 Sebring. I called back the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 and confirmed the recall was in fact issued. I filed a case with the NHTSA, and they referred me to the federal trade commission at 1-877-382-4357 where I also filed a report. The ftc also referred me to the nys consumer protection board. Complaints to them must be filed in writing. I requested a complaint form. I called diamler Chrysler back and filed a case. I contacted the dealer customer service management back, where I sensed there wasn't the least bit of sympathy or concern for my family's safety.

The air bag light for passage seat do not go off when starting vehicle.

There was no incident, but I'm trying to find out why Chrysler stopped the recall for faulty air bags (front seat sensors?) on the 2008. I have a 2009 that the air bag light keeps illuminating and beeping. I called Chrysler, and they were very rude saying that the recall does not apply to my 2009, and wanted alot of money for me to bring it in for a diagnosis. I feel this is wrong. If the 2008's were faulty, then there's a good chance that the 2009's are also. I have only owned this car for 3 months, and have had nothing but trouble with it!.

On one occasion while travelling through the mountains of western pennsylvania on the turnpike at night in the rain the entire car went dark for about 10 seconds. It appeared that the system rebooted. Original owner.

In December of 2011 I took my car into moss bros. Chrysler of san bernardino due to the air bag light for the drivers seat going on and off. They checked the problem out and determined that when the drivers seat is all the way back that the seat adjuster spring is broke and damaged wiring to the seat track sensor. Recommended to replace seat adjuster and wiring. These are the words used by the mechanic as to what the problem is. Chrysler was contacted with a request to repair the problem at their cost, and that was denied. I have made contact with Chrysler concerning this matter and was told the same thing, that I would have to pay to have this problem repaired. Over the last two years the problem has come and gone. Now the problem has come back up again. I am in fear of the air bag going off on its own or not operating properly if involved in an accident. I am tired of pursuing this matter with Chrysler and finally just gave up. After talking to a mechanic friend of mine he told me to contact your agency to see if you can get me some sort of solution to this problem. Right now I am having the air bag light problem daily and am very concerned about my safety and others that may be in my car with me. I do hope that you are able to help me get this problem taken care of. I can not afford to pay the $1000. 00 plus dollars that I was quoted for the repair. I am a disabled senior citizen living on just my social security disability and do hope that you will be able to resolve this problem for me. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostics. The mechanic stated the clock spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 25,600.

Car has tmps and airbag lights constantly coming on for no reason - they stay on for days or weeks and then shut off. Both chrylser and independent mechanic have never been able to diagnose. Also, engine will lose all power while in operation at both freeway speeds and low residential speeds along with auto-start randomly not working. Chrysler and independent mechanic were not able to diagnose. Tried replacing alternator and still happened. Replaced crank shaft sensor after looking at online forums of similar stores from other Chrysler Sebring owners and still occasionally happens. Airbag light is now back on for no reason. . . Again. I know gm has been having numerous recalls yet mine has never been included in recalls for both my model and other makes/models having these issues. It is incredibly scary driving speeds of 75mph to lose all power. I have to pull brake, put the car in park and shut off/restart. I am constantly fearful of it happening and getting into a crash that could be fatal.

I have a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. While I was driving to work, the car idled down and was about to cut off, as when I stopped on a red light the car completely shut off. Air bag light came on and stays on. Upon calling company it will take several thousand dollars to repair as it is a common problem in the steering column. Sure enough, common enough that there is indeed a recall on this - but only in certain states!!! I am in arkansas, the states are directly to the south of me, TX, al, ms etc. . . How crazy is that? it is a defect, but only in a couple states?? even though my VIN number is right in there??? I got this information by calling the recall hot line. . . Yes, if my car was in the recall states, it would be paid for. . . Very shaddy.

2005 Chrysler Sebring gtc conv. At 3:00 o'clock in the morning, I awoke to my horn just honking away. The air bag light is on all the time. It happened another time in the middle of the night and then happened when I was stopped at a light. Everyone was looking at me as I *dramatically* pounded on the steering wheel. I don't think the pounding is really helping, as it seems to just stop on it's own. The last time it happened was yesterday. As I pulled up to my friends house, and was just about to shut it off, the horn started honking short honks then progressed to looooonnngggg honks. Being labor day, needless to say all the neighbors came out to see what all the racket was about. After pounding on it for a few, I decided to drive away as I was sooo humiliated by this time. It stopped about 6 houses down the street. Go figure. However, it was the first time I was aware that there was a ticking sound coming from the area where the control panel for the mirrors were, on the left side of the front of dashboard.
