Underhood Wiring Problems of Chrysler Sebring

Regarding my 2000 Chrysler Sebring lxi, I'm having serious electrical problems withthe wiring under the hood. It started sparking and burning all by themselves starting a small fire under the hood that was put out very quickly, but also leaving me stranded. I am scared as to why my electrical wires would start to burn by themselves. I am glad I was there because my car could have caught fire!!!!.

When it rained, water leaked inside the vehicle. Dealer repaired drain hoses at rear. Burning wire smell with heater on. Lack of power. Radio inoperative. Erratic operation of the dash lights. Mirror lights stayed on when vehicle was shut off. Dealer inspected electrical connections to heater. Checked wiring under dash and found ok. Disconnected sterio power amp and reset body control module.

Vehicle has been in the shop 4 times since bought six months ago. First: housing holding electric motor comes loose allowing fan to tear radiator. Second, sensor light comes on. Third; ais motor fails while vehicle travelling 60 mph. Motor controls idle speed while deaccelerating. Failure cause computer to kill all power to vehicle. Vehicle lost power steering, power brakes, and all electrical including lights and swerved into oncoming traffic at night. Fourth: speedometer will not work and vehicle will not shift gears. Through out ownership, there has been black tar dripping out of doors, dealer has addressed this problem 3 times only to have it reoccur.

Wiring behind left side of engine rubbed against manifold and caught on fire. Fuel line near by was also weakened.
