Six problems related to front air bag sensor control have been reported for the 1996 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Air bag sensor light remains on. Criuse control and horn are inoperative. Dealer notified. Feel free to provide any further information.
While vehicle was at dealer's for check up air bag indicator light came on. Dealer noted that air bag spring clock needed to be replaced.
Transmission made grinding noise under 30 miles per hour. Told it was the differential. We had the "towing package" and have never towed anything. Replaced at dealership for $2100. Air conditioner evaporator has a hole in it. Have not repaired yet. Other minor problems: oxygen sensor replaced, water pump replaced, windshield wiper control replaced, air bag component replaced.
Horn failed to work properly when trying to use it. Also, air bag light comes on when vehicle is started & remains on throughout. Air bag light would flicker as if going out. Problem is intermittent.
Airbag sensor light illuminates while vehicle is in motion. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified.
Consumer called complaining about having problems with the clockspring on her vehicle. Also stated that has contact the dealer and the manufacture and they have stated that they wont cover her recall because the vehicle has more than 70. 000 miles so she is out of luck. Ts.
