Eight problems related to tank filler pipe and cap have been reported for the 1996 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Fuel tank leaked gas around seals. Filler tube connected to tank, the seal failed. Dealer contacted and aware of problem. Repairwork done at owners expense.
Consumer noticed fuel leaking from the filler neck of the vehicle, consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer stated that the leak was due to over filling of the tank.

Fuel filler tube recalled and repaired, however failed three times after repair, (fuel leak), after third repair they replaced the fuel tank.
Fuel smell in cabin. Dealer found crack in tank filler neck - no action taken - awaiting pending recall.
When driving fuel would leak out of pipe. Also, whenever vehicle was filled with fuel, could smell fumes, and fuel would spill from t top and drip down to side of vehicle. Dealership refused to repair vehicle becaus eit was not bought there.
There is a gas leakage when filling up the vehicle from the bottom of the tank where the filler meets the tank.
