Parking Brake problem #1

The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler town and country. He stated that the parking brake was covered with rust which caused the springs to break. The rear wheels also displayed a piercing sound as if there was metal rubbing together when he drove in reverse. The dealer stated that the repair cost was $2000. The manufacturer was not notified. The current and failure mileages were approximately 85,000.

Parking Brake problem #2

The contact stated the emergency brake locked. The vehicle was taken to a dealership, and they explained to the contact that this was a result to water getting into the rear drum and freezing. On December 21, 2004 the emergency brake was repaired under warranty. The problem recurred. Updated 01/25/06.
