general problems of the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country - part 2

Cars ignition is shutting off randomly and not starting intermittently also.

Our 2010 Chrysler Town & Country touring 4. 0l v6 has now, on 7 different occasions, just shut off while driving. When this happens, all power is lost. . . Electrical, engine, lights, and the ability to steer and use brakes. . . Everything.

Van will just shut off while driving. No warning, no lights. Have had the recall fixed twice but problem still hasn't stopped. Doesn't it doesn't matter if the van is cold or warm or what speed. It has done it on the freeway at 70mph. Dealer can not get it to duplicate the problem had if for 3 weeks in the shop. I can not keep driving this vehicle if no one can find what is wrong. Chrysler built the car why can't they find out what's wrong.

Car stalls while driving.

Chrysler town and country 2010 the wireless ignition node is problem r03/NHTSA 14v-373 but I call Chrysler said my car is not incluse recall, but 2 day ago my car suddlely engine shot down on the highway.

Driving down the road and the car shuts off, check engine light comes on, esp light comes on. My car shuts down on both street and highway and in motion.

Water leaking into passanger side floor board , soaking carpet after a rain and causing blower moter to quit.

While driving at low speed, rpms between 1000 and 1500 the vehicle stutters and at times shuts off. We have to put in park and restart the vehicle. It has been happening for awhile now but it is now more frequent. The date below is when it last happened. I would say it has been 4 times in the last month.

Several attempts to start. The windows make clicking noise and "gear malfunction" type noise when attempting to open or close windows. When letting go of the window button the noise "grinds". When opening the back hatch using the button, some of the other windows make the same 'grinding' type noise. This only occurs when vehicle is stationary. This has been happening for about 6 months.

Engine shuts down while driving making it a very dangerous situation in that you loose steering and brakes. This is on highway driving also.

I recently started having problems with the ac in my Town & Country. It started making a hissing noise then a day or two later it started blowing warm air. I took it in just thinking that the freon just needed to be recharged. They did that and it worked for about a 1 � wk before going out again. So then I took it back in and they tested all the lines with the dye to see if they could find a leak anywhere- no leak. They recharged a second time and it worked for about 2 weeks. Then back to hot. I then took it to a different place and they replaced the rear evaporator core, which seems to be a major common problem with these vans. . Repair pal has hundreds of these same complaints.

When driving in town the rpms will suddenly drop to 0, the van is unable to accelerate and the power steering locks up. Sometimes the esp message pops up on the dash. I have to pull over, put the van in park, and turn the vehicle off and then back on. So far this works but it will do this multiple times in the same trip. Has happened when moving, while stopped and when turning through an intersection. I'm absolutely terrified this will happen at a critical moment and cause my children and I to get into an accident.

My van will stall without any warning while driving. It happened first going 45-50 where my starting wheel tightened up and had to stop and restart van and then again coming to stop sign no signs again and had to restart and then again it did it while driving and had to stop and start van again.

The minivan shuts off with no warning when driving or stopped at lights. Completely no power no lights no steering. Can't even get the key out.

While driving under 40 miles an hour the car will stale with no warning at all. I've taken it to the dealer and there is no error code. I have read reviews of a possible bad egr valve but that this may not be the problem. Took it to another mechanic and he thinks it could have something to do with the ignition switch slipping. Not sure the issue but is not safe to drive as is. The car looses power steering and power brakes when it stalls. Had the catalytic converters replaced last year because the dealer said that was the issue but problem has still persisted over the past year but not all the time so it's been hard to detect. This problem never happens when the car is stationary or driving over 40 mph. It's always while city driving under 40.

Van was parked and being unloaded. Left side door begin to open. It opened about two thirds of the way, then reversed and begin to close. A box was being unloaded from behind the front seat. As the door closed it contacted my wives arms and continued to close on the arms and box. Force had to be used to get arms and box clear of door. In the process of forcing the arms clear, the door begin to click and stuck open. The safety reverse did not engage to reverse the door or work at all. The door was jammed open and would not open or close at all. Drove to the body shop to have the problem investigated and fixed. Discovered the plastic coating on the wire had peeled off and began to bind in the pulley mechanism. Both the pulley had damage between the cable races and the wire had torn coating. This combination damage rendered the safety reverse to not operate and could have caused serious injury to an individual who was not strong enough to overpower the door.

Vehicle stalls while driving constantly. It seems to be worse at slower speeds, but does happen at higher speeds. When the stall occurs, you often see the abs light come on. The car loses power steering. You have to pull over and restart or sometimes can put it into neutral and restart while driving. There are other times car seems to surge forward for no reason. It's often difficult to start.

The car has cutoff a few times while driving down the road. I would have to wait a few minutes before it would start up. When you turn the steering wheel so far it makes a wining noise.

For the last several years I've been dealing with mechanics on fiquiring out why just during the summer if I drive the van much it won't start later. I'll have to wait for 15 to 45 minutes before it will start. A few times it hasn't started. I've contacted Chrysler to no avail. Its been diagnosed as a wcm problem but no one is for sure and Chrysler give the same issue of its not in a recall.

Car turns off completely randomly at a low speed while driving. Turns back on. Its very dangerous. It has happened on streets as while as on the freeway. Not safe while driving, especially with children in the car. I did some research and this happens a lot with this particular vehicle. I have taking it into the dealership 3 or 4 times now. Some people say that the egr valve is the problem. I feel like this needs to be addressed before someone is injured or killed in accident due to this defect.

Van kept stalling while driving down the road, on the highway, and while turning, it also stalled out on me 5 times in the parking lot while picking up my sick grandson from school, took to Chrysler dealership to have it checked, needed 2 O2 sensors replaced, still kept stalling, told me it needs the pcm replaced, wrote to molar about the issue, got blown off. I am not the only person with this problem, on one website there is 49+ other people complaining about the same issue, van is still at dealership waiting for the part and cannot guarantee me that will fix the problem.

Vehicle stalls at different times and under different conditions. Dealer could not troubleshoot or repair the issue. Van will stall driving at low speed (20-30mph) and occasionally at higher speeds (40-50mph). Vehicle completely shuts off and has no power. Extremely dangerous to drive.

The engine turns off while the car is going down the street.

Random , unexpected shut down of vehicle and stall, 3 times now since purchasing a year ago. All three times from a stopped position and then acceleration - stall/shut down. Had the win recall done earlier this year. Without warning, usually from a stop position and into accelerating, the vehicle will shut down. No power steering, no brakes major accident waiting to happen. My wifes vehicle transporing our children and the children she babysits. I see thousands of complaints identifying the same problem, local dealerships unable to identify and Chrysler not investigating ? the "well, it could be this" scenario is costing a lot of money that I don't have for a problem that isn't getting fixed. Insurance will not cover a vehicle in the event of an accident occurs, if known to be driving a vehicle known to fail. , what then? I want my wife and children safe.

Takata recall: vehicle was driving down a public road when there was a very loud exploding sound. The passenger side airbag then blew out into the cab of the vehicle followed immediately by flames.

Dash lights on instrument panel/cluster are not working. Can not see how fast I am going unless I hold a light to the panel. Took it to the dealer for diagnosis. Instructed that the instrument panel needed replaced. Part at the dealership is $500 plus 3 hours of labor. Vehicle can be in motion and stationary and I still have no dash lights.

Several ignition problems and engine shutoff while driving. Often key is turned and vehicle does not start no accessory nothing. And twice while driving engine quit both times on city street. The date given below will be the latest of these incidents.

This vehicle has given problems with the electrical since I got in brand new in winter 2009. When driven for more then a couple hours, all the electrical will flash off for a few seconds, to include my power steering headlights, dash lamps, etc. I had the recall done which replaced the ignition switch which supposedly was the problem. Now that this recall has been done, my key gets stuck in my ignition, the tire pressure system randomly turns off, and to top it off the electrical still flashes on and off after driving for more then an hour or two. The dealership has stated they don't know what causes this as it never happens when they test drive it. Another problem that I've had since day one, is with the transmission. When you slow down to make a turn and press the gas to speed back up with the wheel still turned the transmission will jerk into gear. This also has been looked at multiple times and the dealership did not know what was causing it.

Esp warning light continues to come on while the vehicle is in motion. Have taken vehicle for repair multiple times and it still comes on.

Braking problems. Car shakes when braking at higher speeds. Growling noise when braking at times. Vehicle rotors have been replaced twice.

Have had three separate incidents that lead me to believe th tipm is faulty. I've had two incidents where the vehicle engine shuts off while driving. Each time I put the trans in n, turned the ignition, and continued driving. One incident, while driving on the expressway, where the tpm system light came on, then an error message stating "check tpm system" came on, followed by the psi readings for each tire changed from 38 to -- one by one. . . Then just as quick, everything went back to normal. Yesterday had an incident where, after driving around all day, I shut the car off then almost immediately tried to start it only to have the classic "click, click, click". After a couple attempts of turning ignition back and forth, I got a jump and then the engine started without issue. After the jump I shut the car off and it started right up.

Trouble starting vehicle, front window rolls down and lights turn on when the vehicle is off.

Safety recall l25. I have contacted driver's village Chrysler dealer on 3 occasions (January 9, 23, and February 19) to inquire about replacing the win module and 2 fobiks and have been told on each occasion that the manufacturer has not sent enough replacement parts in order to fix my vehicle. The recall states to contact you if "the dealer fails to remedy this defect within a reasonable time. " it has been 6 weeks and I am concerned about my family's safety.

My 2000 Chrysler Town & Country 2010 model will not start. When I try to turn on the car one click happens and all other electrical things work and gages turn over but the car will not start. I wait 5-10 minutes and then the car starts. I have replaced starter and battery still the problem occurs. This has happened several times over the last 3 years.

When the minivan was placed in park the key fob was not able to release or turn off car because the ignition switch would not turn to the off part and car would not completely shut off. In order to preserve the battery of the minivan it was disconnected and there is a message on dash board of bad key without key even in the ignition switch.
