The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that after activating the headlight switch, the headlights would blink off and on twice before turning off. Several weeks ago while driving at night the headlights suddenly went out creating a very dangerous situation. When I tried to turn the lights back on they blinked a couple of times and then remained off. Over the next several days the lights would come on sometimes and other times they would not. I changed the light switch but that did not help. I sent the tipm in to a repair center but they have been unable to identify a problem with it. 09.
The headlights will go off and stay off unexpectedly while driving at night in the dark. Lights will not go back on for days. Then they will work for a random amount of time, then stop working again while driving in the dark again. You may examine this vehicle if you would like. I think that driving in the dark and the lights unexpectedly going off definitely puts my life and the lives of my family and other drivers at great risk. This problem has been confirmed at my local firestone auto repair center. Neither the police or the manufacturer have inspected the vehicle yet. The tail lights, the dash lights, everything else works just fine. Neither the headlights or the brights will work. This has been going on for a few months. Why so long? the lights will work for weeks at a time, then unexpectedly shut off and stop working for days. Right now they are not working. I see from doing research on the internet that this seems to be a common problem with these vehicles, and I think that ntsb need to do something about it, like issuing a recall. This is a flawed design!.
Headlight switch was turned on and headlights came on then went off. Turned light switch off and then on again and the lights came on and then went out again. This happened about dark time and I was 30 minutes from home. Cannot trust vehicle to drive at night as this has happened several times as I test the switch at home. Contacted dealership and all they could tell me is there is not a recall on this issue. No warning lamps came on. Can only drive during daytime as I cannot trust lights.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the headlights would randomly turn off, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. When the failure occurred, the headlights could not be reactivated. Additionally, the braking system would randomly malfunction causing an extended stopping distance. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the tipm was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. Previously while driving at various speeds the vehicle had experienced jerking and shaking. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the transmission. The failure mileage was 151,000.
In attempting to turn north on to route 29 from the kroger gas station in chilicothe, IL the vehicle entirely shut down when partially through the turn. The lighting turned off, the engine shut down, and power steering did not operate. I was able to shift the vehicle into neutral, and attempted to the vehicle. It started but instantaneously shut down again. I attempted once more and it started and I quickly shifted into drive to avoid being struck by another vehicle on the 2 lane roadway.
I experienced the following issue which is addressed in a recall however, my vehicle was not included in the recall. I replaced the part, out of pocket, and am attempting to recoup the cost. I took the van to a Dodge/Chrysler dealership and the van showed no codes, etc to indicate the issue. I simply went out on a limb to guess if this was the problem. I have receipts showing purchase for the repair. This should be covered. My family was in danger every time we drove and Chrysler refused to do anything about it!!!! the new win module solved the issue and it has not stalled once since the new one installed! First problem is the drivers side back door does not open. It stopped working electronically and manually as well as the window. The lights on the dash flicker off and on, radio turns on and off, the van door dings, and it dies while slowing down or even when driving. It happens in town or on the highway.
When our town and country was driven at night the head lights shut off. They would turn on for a few seconds then would turn off and stay off. Even if the car is restarted or the lights turned off and back on, they stayed off.
Dash lights on instrument panel/cluster are not working. Can not see how fast I am going unless I hold a light to the panel. Took it to the dealer for diagnosis. Instructed that the instrument panel needed replaced. Part at the dealership is $500 plus 3 hours of labor. Vehicle can be in motion and stationary and I still have no dash lights.
Vehicle stalls while driving. Radio turns off while driving. Unintended acceleration. One occurrence of not shifting out of 2nd gear. Clicking noise heard from outside of vehicle when off for extended period of time.
The head lamps stopped working an evening. They turned on and off for awhile and now they just turn on for 1 second when I satrt the car and then go off.
Trouble starting vehicle, front window rolls down and lights turn on when the vehicle is off.
While driving down the road my head lights flicker then go out, very dangerous. Have taken it to dealer and they dont know what causes this, they say they have never heard of this, we replaced switch, not fixed. Dealer is telling me to replace tipm, $800 to $1000. I bought this van 6 months ago. Wow any suggestions?.

I purchased the car in January of 2014, about 3 months after, the vehicle emergency light intermittently flashed and the alarm remained on, until the battery was disconnected. After reconnection, the problem seem to have gone away. But two months later the car battery died. I replaced the battery with a new one that the dealer recommended. Two weeks later, the battery was dead again and the dealer recommended we change the alternator. The old alternator was removed and replaced with a new one. A week later, the battery dead again and the battery was replaces again. A week later the battery was dead. And the dealer decided to do a complete diagnose of all electrical component. The dealer claimed the dash cluster have to be replace. I don't truth the replacement of the instrument cluster will solve the problem, I don't truth the car and I am frustrated. Chrysler group llc has been contacted but they have not return any call back.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 26,000 and the current mileage was 26,400. Updated 03/05/lj also, there was a problem with the interior lighting and the passenger window. Updated 03/18/14.
The head lights no longer work, the car cuts off at random, radio windows are possessed. This has all be attributed to a faulty tipm.
About a year after purchase the automatic doors intermittently stop working and rear inside lights would remain on. This didn't effect operation or safety of vehichle so I didn't complain to dealer. No further incidents until September 2013, while on a roadtrip to texas, air conditioner and directionals stopped working. No local dealership in the area so I was forced to bring car to local firestone auto center. They were unable to find source of issue but issue seemed to resolve itself. While away that following December car was left unused for several days and battery was dead. Battery was replaced. Electrical issues continued in March 2014 and pulled car over emergently into sts auto center. They couldn't find source of electrical drain however problem again appeared to resolve itself. Brought car to dealership repeatedly since then. All gages fail while windshield wipers remain on. Dealership has replaced instrument cluster, then a defectove dome light, then claimed the battery was bad and replaced that again, then it was the instrument cluster again. Now I'm supposed to trust this car is going to be reliable and I'm being told be Chrysler that there is nothing more they can do or feel obligated to do. I called in today to file complaint and reported my car is functioning. I just went out to my car and all gages are flashing at me. I must have jinxed myself!.
