1 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2020

The headlights stopped working. They flicker when starting the car, but then shut off. Standard and high-beams are both inoperable. Tried replacing the headlight switch, to no avail. Fog-lights work, which is my only lighting at night. Checked online for a solution. Apparently this is a very common problem in the tipm. Tried a hard reset, but again to no avail. There is no fuse or relay that can be replaced to resolve this issue. This originally began in June, 2020, while I was driving at night the headlights just shut off. The headlights functioned intermittently for a few weeks, and then failed completely. They still flicker once when starting and then go out.

2 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2016

We were driving at night on 8/13/2016 and the headlights shut off while the vehicle was in motion. They then began to flicker. We thought maybe if we switched on the high beams, the lights would work, but they did not. Turning the van off and on again did not work. This has happened two separate times, with the second time being more severe because the lights would not even flicker. The first time it happened, we were in motion on a residential street, about to turn into our driveway. The second time it happened on 8/17/2016, I was driving on curvy farm to market roads. Additionally, the first time, one light would turn on and the other would stay off at random moments - without touching switches. I have found that prior years' models had this issue, as well, but because mine is a 2010, Chrysler says mine is a-ok and they are not including mine in the recall. I did not feel a-ok the other night while I was driving home in the dark with only my hazards guiding my way.

3 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2016

While driving at night on a four lane street, with no warning, both headlights went out. The brights did not work either. Turned the switch off & on, nothing. Turned car off for 10 minutes then back on, but headlights would not come back on. Had to drive home in the dark, and of course I got pulled over by the police! thankfully only received a warning! for the last 2 weeks the headlights & brights are working intermittently, no rhyme or reason as to when they'll work or not. They will work and then just go out while we're driving; or sometimes they won't switch on at all. Never know when it'll happen again! fuse & relays are fine. Very dangerous!.

4 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2015

5 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2014

After starting car headlights flashed on then off 2 or 3 times then remained off. After turning headlight switch on and off several times lights came on. This has continued since the date of first incident. While driving on the evening of August 3,2014 the headlights went off, do not plan on driving at night again until I receive reply from Chrysler. Called Chrysler customer service to complain today at about 11:30a. M. And only was told there was no recall on this vehicle at this time. I asked to speak with supervisor to help resolve issue and was told that supervisor will call me by closing on August 5,2014. This is a serious safety issue tag apparently occurred in the 2005 and 2006 town and country minivans and is obviously still not resolved. The Chrysler dealer I went to today, university Dodge didn't seemed to concerned and offered no help.

6 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2014

First incident was in may 2014 -- when we turned on the headlights, they would almost immediately go off. Since we obviously couldn't drive without working headlights, we took the car to a dealership. After checking all of the wiring relating to the headlights, and the wiring to /from the tipm, the " probable" cause was a faulty tipm. While discussing this with the service manager, a mechanic kept fiddling with the light switch and apparently the system somehow reset. Since there was no way to know if this was a one-time incident or the start of more problems, even the dealership was reluctant to advise spending $1200 or more to replace the tipm, especially since they could offer no guarantee that a new module would work better. In September, we again experienced the same problem with the headlights, and once again the system seemed to re-set. In November, we used the key fob to unlock the doors -- and both front windows rolled down (obviously, there is no window control on the key fob). The vehicle seems to have a mind of it's own, and learning of the other problems that could occur, we no longer feel safe driving this minivan, especially with our grandchildren. Since may 2014, we've only driven this minivan 1200 miles, and even then have been very cautious -- only during the daytime and never on the interstate.

7 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2012

Headlights flashed quickly then would not come back on when starting the vehicle, it has happened 3 or 4 times intermittently. Moving the switch makes not different and shutting off the vehicle and restarting makes no difference as well.

8 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2010

2005 Chrysler Town & Country van headlights will not turn on. Switch has to be turned numerous times and even then, the headlights won't stay on. This is dangerous when it happens at night while driving!!! please issue a recall on this problem.
