Traveling east bound on I-24 about 20 miles west of chattanooga while in the stat of georgia I rear ended a car that had stoped for a line of cars in front of him. The front of my car was badly damages with the frame showing on the left hand corner. The air bags did not function. My wife hit the seat belt cracking her sternum. The car appeared totaled although their was no damage to the interior. The minivan ended up being repaired. Contacting our local Chrysler dealer their thought was that the sensor was not in the right place to employ the airbags. There is no way to verify my speed at the time of the collision as I was braking at the time.
