~tl the contact owns a 2011 Chrysler town and country. The contact received a recall letter in 2012 and the vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall. After the repair, the contact attempted to start the vehicle, but the ignition would not turn over. After a few moments, the vehicle was able to be restarted. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle slowed down and the rpms went to zero. Suddenly, the vehicle accelerated independently and then decelerated without depressing the brake pedal. The check engine indicator illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to sears auto center where it was diagnosed that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to a Chrysler dealer. The failure mileage was 79,949.

The car is having major issues with the fuel pump continuing to run. In the last 30 days it is not wanting to start in the morning. I have read on this issue and Chrysler has had several hundred complaints about the tipm being bad causing the fuel pump to continue to run or the van not to start on cold mornings. This has also cause the van to stop running while you are driving the vehicle down the road.

From what I've researched my problem is with the tipm. Several months ago I started having problems with starting the vehicle. Push to start nor key would start the vehicle after several attempts. Then all of a sudden it would start. Dealer found no codes to diagnose and claimed they could not reproduce it. Dealer flashed something but did not make a difference. A month ago, the car stopped on a major highway, I was fortunate to be able to make it to the shoulder. Had it towed. Diagnosed as fuel pump getting no power. They replaced the fuel pump. Still having intermittent issues with starting. Now, with no warning the vehicle justs shuts down completely as if no power. Radio, everything goes dead for a fews seconds. Then radio, lights come on with no intervention. Car cranked up both times. Has done this twice in the last two weeks. Someone will get hurt or god forbid, killed if Chrysler does not stop lying and take care of this defect. Consumer's should not be forced to pay to replace this part.

Intermittent isues with not starting when the key is turned or the remote start is pressed on the key fob. There is a click that cam be herd but engine does not turn over,after several attempts it will eventually start. Not sure it is a safety issue but more of an innocence and inconvenience. With all I have read about this issue it would seem that Chrysler corp. Would have a fix for it by now. The van was usually parked in my driveway, sometimes over night other times after driving it to the store and back, then trying to go someplace else like a dr. Apt. Sometimes it sat only a few minuets other times after an hour or so. It has a new battery and is in good condition with no corrosion on either post.

This is a faulty part on all Chryslers for several years and they know it! but when I get done with this class action law suit I am about to start I hope all paying Chrysler and Dodge customer get money they deserve!.

Bought the van in 2011 and since then, the vehicle began to having problems starting in 2014. I pressed the start button, but the engine would not turn over. After several hundred tries, it would start. This happened 20 times since then and the dealer does not know why. Today, 4 oct 16, the vehicle will not start at all. I'm a deployed service member and my wife and three children use this van. The faulty ignition system will leave my family stranded. I researched this and there is a recall for other models with the same tipm system, however, there is not one for the town and country. There are hundreds of owners experiencing the same problem. Please have Chrysler admit there is a faulty tipm and that this needs to be recalled.

I believe my issues started when my battery was dead after being shut off upon my arrival to work, within 3 1/2 hours. Battery was charged and started and made it home. 3 days later, without any notification of an issue through the onboard computer notification system, vehicle would not start. Tries to turn over, and did start after a lot of different efforts about 7-8 times(by fully depressing gas pedal when it would turn over to start and maintain rpms 3-4000 for a minimum of 5-10 seconds) and now will not start at all. After last attempts to start, and vehicle not running, you can still hear the fuel pump operating and smell of gasoline. Battery drain was noticed with 24 hours, and dead with in 2 days. When vehicle had started and able to drive a short distance, it would shut off while driving, or shut off upon stopping for a sign or red light. This is dangerous situation, as I am trying to take my 4 year old daughter and teen age son to school when this happened. I have been without a vehicle for over a month now, as this started 8/18/2016. Have lost work time and put my job in jeopardy, as I am in sales and need my transportation. I do not have the time to be running back and forth to dealers to only find out they know nothing to fix this recurring problem with their Chrysler vehicles, nor the thousands of dollars to spend on them trying to "guess" at what the issue is. Vehicles should be fixed if Chrysler actually knows what will fix it, or buyout the vehicle plus 5+% so people can replace this awful vehicle. In the meantime, gm financial still expects monthly payment on a vehicle that is worthless.

I own a 2011 Chrysler town and country with 97, 000 miles, mostly highway. I take good care of my van but lately have had several issues. The vehicle will randomly not start. I can place the car in neutral sometimes and it will start other times it will not. I have had it towed 2x to the dealership where they state there are no codes and it starts. It has cost me over 1000. 00 in tow, service and garage fees. The vehicle is in the stop position when it will not start.

We had trouble starting car, wife was out in town and car would not start. Jumped off and started. Had battery replaced after talking to cry service. Car kept not starting with multiple fobs. Problem reoccur ed and dealer checked out car, nothing found - intermittent problem. Problem reoccurring, had battery changed again on warranty. Problem keeps reoccurring, changed batteries in key fobs, still having problem, dealer worked with us over phone tonight and got car started in neutral then ran fine. Bringing car into dealership again tomorrow to be diagnosed again but this is still happening. From reading the various forums and compliant. Com it sounds like a tip problem.

Vehicle parked in homeowner's driveway erupted in flames at approximately 12. 45 am on September 3rd. Vehicle was shut off for over four(4) hours. Engine was relatively cool as it was only driven for five minutes prior to 8 pm on the 2nd of September. Neighbor who called the fire department reported seeing sparks emanating from under the hood before it burst into flames which destroyed the car. This also damaged the other vehicle parked ahead of the town and country.

Car will not start normally either first thing in the morning or during day. Will take 5 to 10 minutes of attempting to get car started. Battery will die for no apparent reasons if left un-driven for a few hours or days. Car is currently at Chrysler service center for now 4 weeks with no solution on hand. They claim it is caused by a electrical draw and need to work on every relay and system to identify its source. I contacted Chrysler corporate for additional information on how to resolve, no response yet; it has been over a week. I have suggest that problem can be related the broader tipm issue affecting many Chrysler/Jeep vehicle. Service adviser had no interest and stated they must check every system as stated by manufacturer.

I had to have the clyinder head repalces on my t & c pentastar 3. 6 v-6 enegine. In reseaching this I see that it is a limited number of cars but the t&c is not mentioned. I am reporting this because perhaps it is a much larger number of enegines and there has been no recall. For individuals who have the issue and end up out of warrenty will the dealer still honor the warrenty.

After about 4 months of purchasing the vehicle, I had issues with the brakes, system had being replaced already 4 times (in less than 2 years), I had pay out of pocket for the work, still having issues. There is a noisy from the engine every time you change either from parking to drive or drive to reverse. Had it checked already 3 times. My power window and lock control is always having issues and get's pretty warm. Summarizing my experience with this vehicle it had being a complete nightmare, I don't feel safe driving the vehicle and had spend more money out of pocket than my previous Mini-vans. Another issue is that sometimes the side doors open by themselves, without us even touching the controls, or they open half way and we must place in park the van, turn it off and start it again in order to close the side doors.

I was cleaning my windshield on the van when the engine suddenly started (within the closed garage). Apparently the automatic-start function was triggered when the key-fob remote in my pants pocket was inadvertently activated when I leaned against the car. This is very scary! if I had been leaning against something inside the house, would my car have been running all night in a closed garage attached to my house?. I have often accidentally triggered other functions (such as door opening, door lock, etc. ) when working around the house, but automatically starting the engine is especially troubling! I believe there should be a separate interlock safety button located on the side of the remote key fob so an accidental engine start would be much less likely.

While traveling southbound on texas state highway 195 approximately 5 miles south of florence, texas I engaged my vehicle passing gear and passed another southbound vehicle. I reentered the southbound lane and took my foot off the accelerator. The vehicle continued to accelerate and at approximately 85 mph, I began applying braking pressure on the brake pedal. I continued to apply and release braking pressure and was able to maintain control of the vehicle and the speed at around 85 mph. There were no other vehicles traveling southbound in front of my vehicle and after approximately . 2 mile, the passing gear released and the remainder of the trip was unremarkable. I am a retired military aviator and retired police chief. I was also an faa certified flight instructor (multiple rating both fixed wing and rotary wing. I was always taught to, and also taught students to maintain control of the aircraft (vehicle). I'm certain this training and experience helped me in this situation.
