Tapping noise coming from top of engine diagnosis multi cam shaft rollers.
The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that an abnormal ticking sound could be heard coming from the engine while driving at various speeds with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to be inspected by an independent mechanic who linked the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 11v487000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the vehicle was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer had been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
At about 100k miles, the van began to make a ticking sound. It wasn't until I passed 150k I had an issue with a misfire on cylinder 2. . . Turns out, they had an issue with the pentstar v6.
