At 50,000 miles the transmission valve went out - causing the van to stall while driving. It was replaced. Again after another 50,000 miles this transmission valve is going out and the vehicle is again stalling while driving.
Transmission went with 56000 miles, getting the car back in almost 4 weeks. Now car just stops dead. Had to tow to dealer again same problem. Scared to drive because after getting car back engine �rolls�. Feels like stopping. I stalled yesterday at intersection and got towed to dealer. The fixed trans but now I have just stopping problem. Looking the problem up I find it's a problem with Chrysler. I can't afford to keep a lemon. Please check it out.
I was driving about 45 mph on a main roadway in ohio while on vacation. Suddenly, the vehicle went completely dead and stalled. All displays went black. I had no steering and limited braking ability. I was able to leave the roadway safely. Then, I put the vehicle in park. I was able to restart the vehicle, and drive back to our vacation home without issue.
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler town and country. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and various unknown service indicators illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and functioned normally. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
Stalls without warning under all conditions. Engine and all electrical components (engine, lights, power brakes, power steering, interior lights, dashboard lights). This used to happen once and a while. Now it happens more than once a day. This is a major safety problem. Last time the car was at the Chrysler dealership they were unable to diagnose the problem. Do not buy a Chrysler minivan until this is addressed, they take responsibility for this daner, and there is a recall. Car has less than 40k miles. Most recently happened when travelling at about 20mph, while pulling out of a parking lot and into traffic on a busy road, temperature outside is 40f. City street. Car was already warm (had been driven about 10-miles prior to this happening. I'm only allowed to check three items for part of the car affected, but other systems were also effected including lighting, peed control, wipers, power seats, steering, elec stability control, air bags, tire pressure sensors, and other electrical systems.
*note reporting three different discrepancies dates included* after driving vehicle approximately 1 mile, vehicle which was in motion began to stutter and eventually stalled out. The stall caused the vehicle to lose brake function and power steering. Vehicle was put in park and restarted, vehicle resumed with normal function and operation. Incident occurred 12/1/17 while driving on a highway, the vehicles transmission became stuck in 3rd gear and would not shift. I was forced to drive vehicle at an extremely high rpm to maintain highway speed in order to exit highway at a safe location. Again I put vehicle in park and restarted it. The vehicle resumed normal operation. Incident occurred 11/24/17 while stationary the vehicles left passenger sliding door will not go in to lock position while attempting to close causing door to cycle repeatedly. It is a necessity to manually push the door closed or it will continue this cycle indefinitely. Incident occurs daily.
Vehicle stalled when operating on highway. All power lost. Restarted without any problem. No error codes from computer.
When driving the van stalls, losing control and wheel locking up. I have to put the van in park to restart. This has been happening since Nov 2015. The current mileage is 29,000 miles. The van has been taken to the dealership for diagnosis and repair twice. The first trip resulted in no codes since they had been overwritten and the problem hadn't occurred in a reasonable time. The dealer placed a device in the car to take a snapshot when it happens. It happened and the codes p0016. The dealer replaced cam phasers-bank 1 (rear head). Then the car was ready for pickup and my wife didn't even make it out of the parking lot before stalling again. According to the repair statement dated on Jan 18,2016, nothing else had been accomplished. The dealer had been working with star technician support center to resolve this issue. My wife then stalled again this morning on Jan 26, 2016. This matter is very serious and should be handled before a life is lost driving. According to other complaints, there are 7 around the same mileage of the same make and model year of this van.
The van stalls a little bit I went and had a diagnostic done on it and the catalytic converter keeps clogging up causing the van to slow up or to switch gears. Also the doors don't close all the way the sliding doors do not close all the way you have to open and close them sometimes it will say that their clothes and then they come open. Also the ac system does not work in the back of the car the door from the ac that goes to the back of the van closes and will not open to it gets extremely hot in the car even though the ac is on full blast. Also the dvd system my van is 2 years old the dvd player went out and the company would not fix the dvd player I had to spend over $1,000 just to get a new replacement for the dvd player. Also the wipers will fog up the windows causing a hazardous where you cannot see and the wiper cord for the rain-x comes undone.
The vehicle stalled unexpectedly while driving. Had to come to a complete stop and put vehicle in park to restart. Very dangerous condition for someone without the strength to operate the steering and brakes with no power assist. Will be taking vehicle to dealership to document problem. Vehicle has only 28000 miles on it. Vehicle did not indicate any service engine codes.
