The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle would not restart and was towed to an independent mechanic, who originally diagnosed the failure as a fuel pump relay failure. The fuel pump was replaced however, the failure recurred. The map sensor was replaced and the failure recurred. The vehicle was then diagnosed that the totally integrated power module (tipm) was faulty and needed to be replaced however, the part for repair was not available. Garden city Jeep Chrysler Dodge ram (283 n franklin st, hempstead, NY 11550) was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that they would not be able to diagnose the vehicle for at least another month. East hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram srt and westbury Jeep Chrysler Dodge ram service & parts (111 bond st, westbury, NY 11590) was contacted and informed the contact that parts were not yet available. The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, instrument panel illuminated as the vehicle was turned on however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact attempted to start the vehicle several times using the push to start and manual start feature however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact had the vehicle towed to south oak Jeep Dodge ram Chrysler (4550 Lincoln hwy, matteson, IL 60443, (708) 747-7950) who were unable to identify the cause of the failure. The dealer started the vehicle and the contact drove the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle failed to start the following three days. The contact had the vehicle towed back to the same dealer who was then unable to restart the vehicle or identify the cause of the failure. The dealer informed the contact that at times the fuel pump seemed to be running without the vehicle being turned on. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 97,000.

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated she had received a recall notice under NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000(electrical system, air bags). The contact then took the vehicle to asheboro Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram(1709 e dixie dr, asheboro, nc 27203) where she had the recall service. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that the vehicle would fail to start up intermittently as the check engine would also illuminate intermittently when the failure occurred. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective module that needed to be repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted and the contact was informed that the original dealer would repair the vehicle for the failure. The contact then had the vehicle towed back to the same dealer where she was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. Once the battery was replaced, she was later informed that they would not perform a diagnostic due to the vehicle starting with a new battery. She was also informed that due to the check engine light not illuminating, the would not be able to properly diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was 98,000. Jo.

I recently purchased this vehicle, within a few days the car completely froze, unable to start the engine, I must say the temperature was normal about 70 f. There were no check engine lights on, nothing I could do to start it up worked. I simply waited for help that never showed up. Today, wed Feb 26th, 20, it has happened again, the same thing, the engine wouldn't start up, I must say without any engine lights on. . I waited for 45 minutes and the engine started running like normally does. I am afraid to be stranded away from the nearest repair shop, or it may happen again in the middle of the night. I would really appreciate it if you would look into this mechanical. Problem. I must add, I replaced the car battery yesterday 2/25/20. Please note this problem happens when I'm stationary, without the car moving, no warning lights on.

Van began having trouble starting up at around 100,000 miles. The issue was intermittent until a week ago. While the vehicle was stationary, the vehicle wouldn't crank. The fuel pump will not engage and start the vehicle. My battery is good and when we bypassed the tipm, the vehicle cranks properly. This is an indication that the tipm is faulty. After researching this issue, it seems that it's a known problem for many Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep models in 2011. This a definite hazard because the fuel pump continues to run even while everything is turned off.

For weeks car would not start in the mornings before work or after being parked for several hours. Car battery needed to be boosted/jumped in order to start, after a few weeks of this battery drained, bad battery (had to purchase new battery and told this was the issue. ) even with the new battery car would not want to start after being parked a few hours or overnight, especially in very cold weather. Car cranks but not start until after several tries of turning would start to run then shut off after a minute then would start after a few times of stalling or turning off. Car has stalled and/or refused to start several times with my children in the vehicle leaving us stranded a few times and inconvenient and unsafe for my 4 and 5 year olds, especially my 4 year old who is a type one diabetic. Car has had difficulty accelerating and has stalled on major streets and highways and I have required roadside assistance on three occasions in the last two weeks concerning this issue that I have taken my vehicle to three different mechanics and all say the fuel pump relay and one said possibly the fuel pump or fuel pump relay and there is a history of this issue with this vehicle and there have been recalls in 2012 concerning the same issue and part the fuel pump relay, however there has been no recall for the 2013 town and country yet the Jeep grand cherokee and Dodge ram already offered recalls for the same issue and year. Many people with the 2013 town and country are experiencing the same issue with the fuel pump relay and we should be offered a recall as well for this faulty part which is dangerous because it can cause a vehicle to stop and /or not start at anytime.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle did not start, nor was able to open the door with the key fob. The contact toweded the vehicle to an unknbown independent mechanic. The vehicle stayed in the lot for few minutes and then it started up rightaway. The contact stated that the failure happened also in 2016 ( did not remeber what month ). The vehicle was not taken toi the dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not rrepaired. The approximate failure mileage was106,000. Bp.

Car would not start from park. Towed to dealer. Diagnosis , win module bad. Why is there no recall on the 2012? it will cost about $1500. 00 to fix. In addition, this is a safety issue. The right rear sliding door will not lock. This seems to be an issue when I looked online. The doors either do not lock or lock and are unable to open. Again a problem with the computers.
Van has had a few times where it will not start, you can turn the key all the way to the on position, all the lights/radio and air will come on but the engine fails to start, does not make a noise. After a few tries it will start. Recently the key got stuck in the on position to start and the engine tried starting 4 times while stuck in that position before it finally started and almost quit. Did not dare to turn vehicle off due to the possibility it would not start. Research states the tipm is the cause of this along with multiple electrical issues. This should be recalled.
The car dies when coming to stop. Intermittent car can not restart, there is no electric power to restart car, totally no electric can not even turn on hazard lights. Was struck in middle lane with cars coming on 55 mph road. Very dangerous. Could of been killed.
My 2010 Chrysler town and country has experienced the dangerous problem related to the ignition switch recall (r03). My vehicle date falls within the stated included vehicle dates on your website, yet my vehicle id brings up no recalls! the vehicle has stopped operating while driving on a city street, highway, and during a turn to exit a highway. Luckily we were able to put it into neutral and restart the vehicle before it caused a crash. This has happened intermittently. I do not understand why my vehicle was excluded from the recall even as your website shows that it should be included. This has been on ongoing problem with these vehicles, as this is the second recall for the same problem. They even expanded the years of cars included for the second recall, yet my vehicle with a manufacture date within both recalls does not qualify for either fix. Why should they not correct this dangerous situation they have put us in when there is a recall on this very thing? no one has explained to me why this vehicle is excluded from the recall. Currently the car will not start at all. It needs the ignition switch this recall would replace. It would be very expensive for me to cover the cost of replacement, and the r03 recall has established it is a defective part. What am I to do?.
Car wouldn't start, then would start, then wouldn't start and now repeatedly will not start. Took it to my local shop who charged me for a repair but that didn't resolve this. Took it to a Chrysler dealer shop and they were unable to initially diagnose what was going on. I've asked them to do no work pending conversations with the original shop. All the documentation that I have read points to the tipm so I believe that this is the cause.
Vehicle would not start. Acted like it was not getting fuel. Battery would drain overnight. Sliding doors would not operate correctly. Took to an independent shop and was told the tipm had a couple bad relays. Ordered a external relay kit from Chrysler per a service bulletin. Repair solved the fuel pump problem.
Tl the contact owns a 2009 Chrysler town and country. While driving, the check engine warning indicator remained illuminated. In addition, the instrument panel started to flicker. The vehicle stalled and the driver was able to coast into a parking lot and power off the engine. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to dewey Dodge Chrysler Jeep (located at 3175 se delaware Ave, ankeny, IA 50021, (515) 289-8700) where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness was faulty under the instrument panel and hood. The contact was stated that the clockspring in the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 153,000.
4. 0 l v6 engine 1) while turning right from a stop onto highway, the power steering failed. - I drove into the passing lane, luckily no one was in that lane at the time. So the car was speeding up 10/30/18 traction control light briefly on 2) car in motion, decelling from 35 mph, turning left across on coming traffic, the power steering & the power breaks went out. Hard to turn & hard to break, barely stopped in time. Had to turn off & back on again 11/17/18 traction control light briefly on 3) for the past 6 months, there have been occasions where my car would not start until like the 7 or 10th turn over of the fob. Car not in motion.
Car would not start when parked in the driveway, had it towed to mechanic. They first said that the fuel pump needed replaced, then after replacing this part, they stated that the totally integrated power module also needed replaced. After 5 days without our vehicle and paying thousands of dollars, we are furious. I have been reviewing this problem with this vehicle and it appears to be a problem for many, many people, but nothing is being done by Chrysler. This is the exact issue as part of "safety recall r09 / NHTSA 15v-115 fuel pump relay". The town and country was excluded from this recall despite using the exact same part and having the exact same issues.
When driving on highway vehicle would turn off and sometimes turn back on in a short period of time. Vehicle will not start. There have been hundreds of times that it has done this. Happens at various times.
Car will not start, will not stay started, or shuts off while driving. Or. . . The fuel pump will stick "on" while the car is off. This is due to the faulty integrated relays in the totally integrated power module failing. This is the exact issue as part of "safety recall r09 / NHTSA 15v-115 fuel pump relay". The town and country was excluded from this recall despite using the exact same part and having the exact same issues. I would like to have the proper parts put into my car for safety reasons. The dealer wants to put the faulty parts back into the car after charging me a lot of money to fix this obvious safety issue that should have been recalled with the others.
On September 2018 while driving on the highway my 2013 Chrysler town and country started stalling notice that it was losing power I barely made it home when I try to open side doors notice that none of the power side doors wouldn't open they were stuck we can't open the doors and once we turned off the van it wouldn't start we thought it was the battery so we got a new one, but the battery wasn't the problem. Because when we connected the battery it turned on but once again we shut down the engine it wouldn't start again. . . We notice it started making a noise and losing power and the engine shut down and it wouldn't start again so we decided to disconnecting the battery so we can see if it would turn on the next day and it but so that it what we have to do everytime we would go somewhere. But than we started having problems with the transmission it started failing so now we are also having to deal with the transmission. . . All this is driving us crazy never had problems with my other 2 to van's that we bought before, but this one is a lemon if its not one thing it's another last year we had problems with the engine had to take it in to the dealership and now all this electrical and transmission problems I actually don't know what to do. . . . Please help that is my only vehicle to get to work.

The contact mentioned that the vehicle needed to be cranked multiples times in order to operate. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the totally integrated power module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, while attempting to start the vehicle, the defroster failed to operate and numerous warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic who stated that the ground wire defrost circuit needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired; however, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic who stated that the electrical injector needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,900. The VIN was not provided.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that they lost power in the vehicle and now the engine will not start. The contact was driving 35 mph the vehicle and the engine shut off. They had to pull over by the side walk, they poped the hood, and took the battery appart. Then placed the battery back in its holster started the engine and the vehicle turned back. Multiple warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was driven to marshall Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (859) 824-3300 140 spears ln, crittenden, ky 41030 where they were informed that a bad "tipm" device was the reason for the electrical and engine shortages. The manufacturer was contacted and they informed that the contact should call us. The failure mileage was 75,000. Jw.
Vehicle will not start. Tipm needs replacing. Upon investigation into the issue, there are countless complaints of the same part, but with very concerning safety issues such as vehicle stalling while driving or airbags randomly deploying or not deploying at all during an accident. The NHTSA denied the petition to investigate this widely occurring issue. What the hell good is this organization if they don't place consumer interest and safety first???????????????.
The fuel pump relay inside the tipm (fuse box circuit board fuel pump relay) the vehicle would not start sometimes and died a few times out driving it out on the highway. I bought a new relay and had it solder in to my tipm and it works great now then a engine light came on and it say's it's not communication with my pcm then it's working again. Vehicle runs great now and starting. I hear Chrysler 2011 town and country vans are having a lot of problems with the same issues but no recalls on the tipm box modules.
Car will not start intermittently leaving me stranded multiple times having to tow. Bad tipm is what I am told by others with similar stories; dealer says they cannot find anything definite problem started at approximately 70,000 miles but would start after 2-3rd try; occurring much more frequently taking 8 hours to start again. Last time they said my brand new battery was "faulty". Replaced and now occuring again.
Every three to five days the vehicle will not start. There is a constant 2 amp draw on the battery. They kept the vehicle at the dealership for almost two months. The tipm module, win module, right door module and radio have all been replaced but none of these things have fixed the problem. The problem can not be resolved and you have no idea when this electrical failure is going to occur.
Tipm (totally integrated power module) failure. Symptoms include fuel pump not running, or running irregularly. Vehicle will not start, vehicle stalls soon after starting. This part is common to several models and causes problems across model lines. It has since been redesigned, and the dealership is installing the "new" module in our vehicle at my expense.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently. The vehicle remained parked due to the failure. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer advised that the vehicle be taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and diagnosis to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000 (electrical system). The manufacturer provided no recommended solution. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Driving along and all of a sudden the car turned off, steering became tight, and steering wheel locked. After checking into the situation, the ignition key was in the off position, upon trying to restart the engine it says bad key and vehicle would not start, wheel wouldn't turn and vehicle was disabled.
Car will not start sometimes no shut off tipm issue no recall yet.
Our 2011 town and country is in the shop for what we thought was a fuel pump issue. After spending the money for a new fuel pump the van stopped working before we could even pick it up. Come to find out the problem is one that Chrysler has known about for sometime, total integrated power module (tipm for short). The repair shop is saying that this fix will cost $1200. We have also replaced the battery twice because of this issue. The van has been having issue for 2 years, when it only has 40k miles. At first it was intermittent and the repair shop couldn't figure out what the issue was. Most of the time the problem was that the car wouldn't start. A couple of times it would start to start and we would put it into reverse and it would stop. I have opened a case with their corporate office. When talking to the lady (man, I wish I would have gotten her name) she told me that she has never heard of this problem before and "you can't believe everything on google". Really!!! I'm not stupid!! they have been sued about this issue and settled. All of the repair people I have talked too were surprised that they would say that since they all know about it.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle registered the incorrect gear. Prior to that, the vehicle could not be DE-powered until after numerous attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission and the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the vehicle could not be started three weeks later. The vehicle was towed to the dealer again where it was diagnosed that a 13mm net was loose, the bolt needed to be tightened, and the wire harness needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: 31511387. The contact tried to return the vehicle for trade-in or reimbursement, but was informed by the manufacturer that Chrysler would continue to repair the vehicle under warranty until the warranty expired. The failure mileage was 64,002.

The issue began with our van frequently requiring more than one attempt to start the engine. This progressed until we were unable to start the van at all. I feared it was a bad fuel pump and the local dealer came up with the same diagnosis. After a few days we were informed that our van was ready to be picked up. We arrived at the shop the next morning only to find that the car wouldn't even start. Apparently our town and country had a bad tipm which caused the fuel pump to burn out. Total cost for the tipm, fuel pump, and labor was over $1600.
Bought the van in 2011 and since then, the vehicle began to having problems starting in 2014. I pressed the start button, but the engine would not turn over. After several hundred tries, it would start. This happened 20 times since then and the dealer does not know why. Today, 4 oct 16, the vehicle will not start at all. I'm a deployed service member and my wife and three children use this van. The faulty ignition system will leave my family stranded. I researched this and there is a recall for other models with the same tipm system, however, there is not one for the town and country. There are hundreds of owners experiencing the same problem. Please have Chrysler admit there is a faulty tipm and that this needs to be recalled.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start without warning. The contact mentioned that an abnormal sound emitted from the vehicle as if it were going to start. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the totally integrated power module needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The VIN was not available.
