The contact owns a 1998 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving she drove over a bump in the road and started hearing a scraping sound. She stated that after pulling over she noticed that one of the fuel tank straps had come off and the tank was hanging off of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who stated that both of the straps needed to be replaced due to corrosion. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 149,000.
