I took my car in for a recall on an ignition win module recall. The car was given back to me with several electrical issues and is now very unsafe to drive. Dealer replaced the part 4x now says its my issue!! my car was working properly when it was given to the dealer and was not returned to me in the same condition. The dealer experienced and witnessed this issue and says they cant find anything wrong with it. The only way they will help me is if I pay. My car will randomly light up the dash like I just turned it on, wipers go on by themselves, I have no dials on the dash they all bottom out to zero so I have no idea how fast im going, my turn signals and head lights go on and off, even in the dark! my car doesnt register in park so my doors wont open. After I take the key out it will light up as if key is in it and its not. Not safe for driving but I have no other options at this point! attached is a link to show a video of just a small bit of the issues with my van since part replacement. . Read more...

My 2010 Chrysler town and country was taken into a Chrysler dealership for a routine repair in 2011. During that repair visit, the dealer checked for any open recalls and performed NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000. I never had the condition this safety recall was intended to repair. . . Until they performed the recall. When I went back to complain. . . I was told the recall could not be "un-done" by law. Over time, this ignition switch became even worse, so that it became extremely difficult to turn the key (the design of this "key" is actually the square-ish plastic tip of the Chrysler key fob rather than a traditional key. . . There is no actual key in this design. . . The fob itself is required to turn the ignition switch). This has, over time, destroyed both original keys. When I recently was forced to replace (over $200) my last functioning key so I could operate the vehicle, the new key made the turning of the switch even more difficult due to a newer design. I contacted Chrysler, they had the dealer re-perform the "detent-ring" install for 11v139000. . . This changed nothing. Chrysler then had the dealer order a new "win module" to fix the issue. . . And offered to reimburse me for my one key I had paid for. While waiting for the win module to arrive at the dealer, Chrysler called me and the dealer the next day to tell me that they had reversed their decision. . . That my case with them (Chrysler case id# 26457034) would be referred to their internal "special tracking unit" and that this recall was being expanded (I assume this is for 14v373000) and they'd let me know if the situation changed. Meanwhile, I continue to drive a car that has the safety issue still. . . And it's ruining my new $200 key. Since the condition allows air bags to be deactivated and the engine to cut out unexpectedly, I do not allow anyone else in my family to drive it since 2011. Please make Chrysler fix this.
After almost a month at the dealer, replacing the wireless ignition module twice and the battery. . . Running all possible tests, today they believe the issue is related to the bad tipm. . . My van was not part of the recall for the tipm yet I have the same problem as everyone else. My van dies every 4 days and has been sitting at the dealer for almost a month, I was called 3 times to pick it up after being fixed and it was dead in their parking lot, and died an additional 4 more times in their possession. Like clock work, it dies every 4 days. Let's hope this time they really found it and if they did why was mine not part of this nation wide recall for this issue? car dies, won't start, no power every 4 days.

This is my third complaint of this issue, and its 7th occurrence. First time at dealership they could not find problem, only tested battery and said it was good and sent me back on my way. Second time at dealership, they think they found the problem and put in an entire new wireless ignition module and two new sets of keys, go to pick it up tonight all *fixed* and its dead. . . Again. . . Same as before. . 7th time in two weeks, third time at Chrysler dealership. Car will not start, no power, no nothing, no attempt. Everything is turned off nightly, all interior lights, cabin lights, radio, nothing plugged in locked and checked and dead in the morning. Why must I keep going through this. How many times am I going to be stranded and sit and wait hours to be towed and go through this over and over again??? this is a safety issue, what if next time I am stranded with my young children? but Chrysler can't find anything/?.

I have received (3) individual recall notices, going back to around 2014-15 concerning an "important safety recall" concerning "wireless ignition node module defects. I immediately contacted the local dealership I purchased the car from, friendship Chrysler in bristol, TN, and was told I would be placed on a waiting list. Today's date is January 23, 2016, I have since received two additional notices, but have only been told by the dealership that the part is not in and I am on a waiting list. This is a major safety issue involving a van that is typically purchased to "safely" transport families. I think the delay is insane. Please tell me what the holdup is?.
Vehicle in a parking lot. When I tried to re-enter the vehickle it would not open. Used emergency key to enter car but it would not start. Had a friend take me home to get second key. This did not work either. Called road service and vehicle was towed in. Results win module internal failure installed 68105739ab receiver: wireless ignition installed 56046704ae transmtr: integrated key fob total cost to me $1215. 59.
I am still waiting on parts for this recall that was issued in 2011 and its almost 2015 and now my entire keyfob cannot be removed from the fobik as it is stuck in (acc) mode and Chrysler is trying to charge me $600 for a replacement. Upon starting your vehicle (VIN: xxxxxxx), the frequency operated button ignition key (fobik), may not fully seat in the “on” position. If not fully seated, under certain operating conditions (for example bumpy roads) the fobik could inadvertently move to the “accessory” mode. This could cause unintended engine shut off and increase the risk of a crash under certain driving conditions. What your dealer will do. . . Chrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will inspect the win module and install a secondary fobik detent system if required. The work will take about ½ hour to complete. However, additional time may be necessary depending on service schedules. What you must do to ensure your safety. . . Parts to complete this recall will be available in dealerships on July 15, 2011. At that time, contact your Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer to schedule a service appointment. Ask the dealer to hold the parts for your vehicle or to order them before your appointment. Please bring this letter with you to your dealer. Until this repair is completed, the vehicle can be driven. However, as a precaution, all drivers are advised to remove all objects from the fobik (such as additional keys, key chains, etc. ) and ensure that the fobik is securely and correctly aligned in the “on” position and not aligned between the “on” and “accessory” position before driving the vehicle. If you need help. . . If you have questions or concerns which your dealer is unable to resolve, please contact the Chrysler group recall assistance center at 1-800-853-1403.
