Prior to this incident, there were no issues with the vehicle. No service lights were on and the vehicle seemed to be operating normally. At 11:00 pm on the night of the incident, I looked out our window and saw our van on fire. The fire was located in the front of the vehicle, primarily on the passenger side dashboard. The windshield and the passenger side window had been blown out as a result of the fire. The fire department responded and put out the fire. The vehicle was damaged beyond repair and is a complete loss. The fire fighters on the scene looked for signs of arson and indicated that there was no evidence of arson and no accelerate was noted or smelled. The report we received from the fire department indicated that the cause of ignition was failure of equipment or heat source, the heat source was electrical arcing, the item first ignited was electrical wire, cable insulation and the type of material first ignited was plastic. It also indicated that the factors contributing to ignition were mechanical failure, malfunction. The car was towed to the nearest dealership, which happened to be where we purchased the car five months earlier. The dealership refused to provide a loaner car even though our vehicle in under warranty through 36,000 miles. It currently has approximately 29,000 miles. The event remains under investigation and the dealership has indicated they believe we should file a claim with our insurance company. We have refused to do this as it is our belief that this issue occurred due to a defect within the vehicle and it should be covered by the factory warranty.

Ignition lock gets stuck, can not start the van. On two separate occassions got stranded with an infant in the car, was not able to get the van started because of an ignition lock not working properly.
Between 09/25/05 and 01/25/06 I have spent over$9,000. 00 in repairs to my 2001 town and country. All electrical related. Van has stalled and left us stranded numerous times. Fuses, fuel relays, electrical harness damaged, overhead console replaced, rear door switches replaced, transmission module. Speedometer, doors will work one minute and not the next. Check engine light comes on everytime and is on now. . . . I see there have been numerous complaints on these same issues. I wonder how many more are having the same problems that don't get reported. I have also spent hundreds of dollars on rental cars everytime the dealer has the car for weeks at a time. After 2 different Chrysler dealers worked on it you would think it could be fixed. It appears they are more interested in trading me out of it than admitting they can't fix it. I wish they had told me that $9,000. Dollars ago.
While vehicle was parked, steering column locked. Felt as if I was using the wrong key. Van was towed to dealer, and key column replaced. Driver's window works sometimes and sometimes doesnt. Air conditioner broken, need to replace condenser, but can't afford it.
Long cranking before starting.

Vehicle stalls while driving, without warning. Loss of all power is extremely dangerous and can result in an accident. The dealer is unable to locate and correct problem which has occurred about nine times since the vehicle was purchased. We have taken the vehicle to the dealer five times. Because the problem cannot be specifically identified, the dealer and Chrysler will not accept any responsibility. We can no longer drive the vehicle because of the safety concerns.
