This vehicle was subject to recall for ignition switch replacement which was performed in February 2016 by briggs Chrysler in lawrence KS. We had experienced no problems with the car in 100,000 miles prior to recall. After the recall repair, we have experienced 2 occurrences of engine stoppage, both at slow highway speeds (~55 mph), once on interstate 70 (illinois) and once on missouri state route 5. On each occasion, the engine stopped and all electrical systems turned off. Due to low traffic volumes the incidents presented no hazard. After stopping the vehicle, a restart was done in both cases and the trip continued. The first was in April this year and the 2nd was 2 weeks ago. The total mileage driven from date of recall work performed to the first stoppage was approx 4,000 miles. The mileage between the first and second stoppages was approx 3,000 miles. I contacted both the dealer who performed the recall and Chrysler corp cs. The dealer service rep said there was nothing they could do about the issue. Tonight a Chrysler cs rep told me it had to go to a dealer for a diagnosis (at my expense). I find both answers unsatisfactory. In the first case on I-70, if we had not been in a construction zone with low speed limits and single lane traffic, there would have been high potential to add myself and my wife to the 57 deaths already associated with this ongoing problem.

I am the operations manager for a livery service on cape cod that uses Dodge and Chrysler minivans for public transportation service. I've been trying to get the parts for the ignition switch recall since June 2015, and my local dealer keeps telling me the parts are not available. Fca keeps sending me notices, and I find it disgusting that anyone should wait over nine months for the parts for this vital recall. Fca should be ashamed of themselves for not making these parts available in a timely manner.
Upon purchase of the vehicle (Feb 2015), we received a safety recall notice on the ignition switch (r03/NHTSA 14v-373). Went to dealership (dick meyers Chrysler/Dodge in harrisonburg va) in may 2015 and was told that we were "on a list" and would be notified. Never heard from them. Did a follow up on Jan 28, 2016 and was told the same thing - "on a list" due to backordered parts. This delay seems ridiculous and obvious to us that Chrysler doesn't want to swallow the cost and hoping people will just give up.

I was driving down the road and the van stalled as I was driving. I had no power steering, no power brakes, etc. Luckily there was no one behind me and was able to muscle the van to the side of the road. This is the 3rd time this has happened to my wife and I in the last month. We have not had this issue before. After I parked the car, I was able to restart the engine and drive it. Upon further investigation while driving I noted that I could turn the key fob from the "on" position to the "acc" position as I was driving with very little effort! I did some research and found that there is a recall for 2010 t&cs for ignition switch issues similar to mine. When I called Chrysler, however, they informed me that my 2010 was not covered under the l25 recall. Please help. This is obviously extremely dangerous and I have to drive my 2 kids and my pregnant wife in this thing.

When exiting my vehicle Sunday, it would not shut off nor would the key come out. I was finally able to turn the engine off but not get the key out. This meant that the acc mode was allowing power to remain on. Because the dealership was closed on Sunday, the power remained on until I could call them Monday morning. I was told to jump the vehicle off and bring it in. When driving to the dealership, I realized the radio no longer was functioning because of the power failure caused by the ignition switch that was not working. They replaced the ignition switch free of charge but will not fix the radio. I am confident it was caused by the failure of the key and the subsequent power drain. All of this was caused by the failure of the ignition switch. I am not a mechanic but a teacher so I may not be using correct terminology. I hope you understand what I am trying to explain. Also, for over a year, I have been corresponding with Chrysler about an issue I have been having with the ignition switch. The same ignition switch that I am speaking of above will (numerous times) become disengaged and shut off. Because of this I never allowed my children to drive it. Chrysler on many occasions told me to "be very careful and take all precautions" because the parts were not available to complete this repair. I know that all of these problems are related.

I received a safety recall on the ignition switch around April 2015. We made a booking at the local dealership, dick meyers Dodge in harrisonburg va. I've made repeated inquiries for getting the work done, but every time get the same answer in that Chrysler is slow in getting them the supply of replacement ignition switches. It's coming up on 2 years since making the booking and still no results. This seems ridiculous in that it is taking so long and there's still no anticipated delivery date.

My wife was driving out of our subdivision and stopped at the stop sign exiting our subdivision. All of the instrument cluster warning lights came on and the engine stopped. She turned the key (fobik) to the off position and then re-started the vehicle and promptly drove home and parked the vehicle and took our other vehicle to complete her errand. I talked to the Chrysler dealership and Chrysler customer service, and they said they have no parts for recall l25 (ignition switch). We received our notification last fall for the l25 ignition switch recall, now it is March of 2015 going into the 8th month after this recall was made official, and we still are waiting for a safe resolution. Now we view the operation of this vehicle as a safety liability.
For the third time in three months, and while driving, the vehicle lost electrical system, engine power, power brakes and power steering, plus loss of all panel & engine lights, and loss of radio. The latest incident happened in a residential area at 30-mph on 2 March 2015, odometer approx 126280. The previous two events like this occurred when vehicle was on highway at highway speeds and while accelerating, during November 2014 and January 2015. Please note that the ignition switch during this latest event remained in the on position. I am not sure whether in the previous two incidents whether the ignition switch had (or had not) slipped out of the on position. During this latest event on 2 March 2015, to restart engine while still coasting down the road, I had to carefully put trans in neutral position, then turn ignition switch to off, and then turn the ignition switch to start, to restart engine. The engine thus restarted normally in all three of these incidents.
