The down limit switch and its location on the machine allow the limit switch to be activated when it comes in contact with the boom arm, making it possible to raise the outriggers while the platform is elevated, increasing the risk of injury to the operator.

On certain trailer mounted aerial work platform booms, the outriggers (stabilizers) can function when the machine is not in a fully stowed position.

Genie will provide a limit switch replacement kit and installation instructions to owners of all affected machines. The recall began on January 11, 2007. Owners may contact genie at 1-877-738-7530.
