On Apr 11,2021 I was driving around 35-40 mph and my hood came flying up in front of me. I have call Chrysler and they sent out inspector ron marnese, who inspected the car and found the secondary latch was not working. Chrysler has informed me that they will not fix my car due to it being out of warranty and there is no recall. Inspector had told me that he thought that engineering would want the latch and thought this would get repaired by them due to the car being in excellent shape. Chrysler did not seem to care the this is a safety issue.

The interior drivers side door handle sliced my finger when I opened the door. . It looks like the metal is separating and is sharp as a knife. . . . My other issue is . . There is a clicking noise in my passenger side dash board. . On the driver side the vents blow hot air and the passenger side vent blows cold air.

Back in 2019 on thanksgiving we had a car accident driving straight on route 17 in essex county because the wheel bearings went out to quickly we replaced them a year later it did almost did the same thing but we catch it in time are mechanic said it shouldn't have to change your wheel your wheel bearing 10 months apart we went through 3 already and it's asking me to put a date from when it happen I'll put the first time and the next two the next date it happen 9/23/2020/10/20/20 it's also doing some weird sliding in the back end of the vehicle.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the upholstery on the front passenger door pulled back. The contact glued the fabric back by himself, but the failure recurred. The contact also stated that the three climate control buttons in the vehicle were about to detach. The contact noticed that the plastic around the buttons was melted and caused the buttons to become loose. The vehicle was taken to freeland Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (615-270-8499. Located at 5800 crossings blvd, antioch, TN 37013) where the technician stated that the upholstery failure was a known issue. The technician was unable to diagnose the cause of the failures and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and referred the contact to NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

When at the fuel pump getting gas it overfills every time. Safety hazard has a rough idle when sitting at a stop light without a check engine light and no check engine light has come up for it. Speedometer is off door handle sticks not allowing me to close my door while I'm in it have to push the handle towards the door to get it to close. Trunk doesn't close all the way. Also when opening after it rains it leaks all over my stuff.

As I was driving down the street the hood flew up into the windshield. I was able to get it down. Once parked, I pulled the latch inside the car to pop the hood. When I lifted, it came straight up. Normally I would have to press the piece to release the hood the rest of the way. There is something wrong with the latch and now my hood is bent.

On 3-31-19 me and my 2 daughters were driving on expressway, I started smelling burning and seen smoke coming from hood on driver side of car, it appeared to be coming from the engine under hood and pulled to side of road. I turned car off and I told kids to get out and we walked down expressway. I told kids to stay there and went to walk back to open hood and check it, on my way back to it, it had started on fire. I went back to my kids and called police. Within ten minutes the whole car was engulfed in flames.

Both of my front seat headrests deployed as passengers were getting out the car and pushed against the seats to get out the car. The car was never involved in a car accident so I don't understand why the headrests deployed like they did. Since the pins are no longer in the headrests, it appears I will have to order new ones to correct the issue. The upholstery on the right passenger door has lifted.

The front of the hood on the Avengers has corrosion. Chrysler replaced some of them but not mine even though it was still under the extended warranty. They said it had to be claimed the first year. I think Chrysler should recall all of the hoods because they're all corroded.

This cars hood has flown up and hit the windshield on multiple occasions, even after getting the safety latch replaced it is still flying up while driving at high to low speeds.

Air bag light on dealership says it has nothing to do with the orc recall that was repaired, brakes skip then pop before stopping took it to multiple mechanics to get inspected none of them could fine an issue including Dodge dealership. Front door can not be shut before back door or it will scratch back door. Oil leak from engine gasket and engine pan. Popping it steering column and shaking when going down hill. Again dealership and 4 other certified mechanics can not find any issues with the popping it the steering column and jumping and skip in the brakes before stopping. The brake issue happens at any speed and popping in the steering wheel happens mainly any slower speeds when letting go gas or brake no turning going straight.

Electrical system has critical internal errors where car will just shut-off completely. I've been on highway many times where my 2014 Dodge Avenger se v6 has lost power and completely idles. The battery is still working but car will no longer start. I have infant child and this defect has become a source of anxiety every time I drive this vehicle. Also, the nuts and bolts seem to come undone from the side frames below the driver and rear doors, as well as bolts under hood such as on the engine compartments. Finally, royalty auto informed me that the oil filter housing unit on this vehicle is stocked with plastic, when it should be made from alloy metal to ensure quality and safety.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Dodge Avenger. The contacgt stated that the engine cradle and subrame prematurely had rust and fractured while driving a low rate of speed. , the vehicle was coased to PA arking area. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine cradle needed to be replaced. The manufacturer had issued 1 recall on the engine, 3 TSB on the engine but provided no solution to provide a remedy with no recall for this failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. Dyd.

Climate control blows cold air on the passenger side and warm air on the drivers side when heat is on and driving. Engine temperature does not reach normal operating temperature when driving in cold weather. Took to my local trusted mechanic and he diagnosed the heater core is plugged with debris. Looked online and the Dodge Avenger have numerous complaints with that same issue. Called Chrysler group and made a complaint and got a case number. I have an appointment later this week to have it diagnosed by a Dodge dealership for the record.

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while in his driveway in a snow driift. He tried to rock back and forth to move his vehicle and the contact smelled smoke and fuel. He took the vehicle to an in dependent mechanic whos diagnosed on a lift that the insellation to protect the bottom of the vehicle had burnt off. The contact had not called a dealer of manufacturer because of the snowy conditions where he lives. The innsellation fire also burnt holes on the plastic gas tank. The VIN tool showed no current recalls. . The radiator fan had also shorted out since the snow on the ground blocked the fan from working. The failure mileage was 80,000. Tf.

I was not notified of this recall! I logged onto my credit karma (today 3/14/2018) and they notified me that 3 recalls were issued for this vehicle back in 2016. Additionally, my husband was in an accident on 11/29/2017 and the air bags did not deploy. He was a tboned from someone who ran a stop sign and is suffering from neck and back issues caused from this accident.

I have today owned this used 2013 Dodge Avenger and there are 3 problems that make me cringe. First somehow the back bushings are done on the control arm, it makes a very loud noise over bumps. Second the ac is leaking and now have to take it to Dodge because they make it so I cant do it myself and want me to pay 1000 because its a name your price kinda thing, jerks. Lastly after only 6 years I have rust everywhere. I wash my car every 2 weeks but Dodge has been known to use the cheapest metal to build their cars. Never gonna buy a Dodge again, they make America look bad with the garbage it puts out, how can anybody take pride in the car they own if its crap.

Door on driver side touches side bumber causing dent.

The vehicle was towed to the dealership where they diagnosed the sub frame was corroded and needed to be replaced . The vehicle was not repaired. "takata recall"my wife got in a accident rear ending another car that stomped on breaks as she was trying to switch lanes her brakes did not clamp properly and her airbag did not deploy she was going 45mph on hwy 70 in durham, nc. She suffered injuries to her neck, shoulders, knees, and right eye. And our car received damages to the front driver side not driveable. After hearing from a mechanic that the airbag should have deploy and Dodge has a recall going on I did some research it was true. And my car did have a recall for the airbags since September of 2016 but I was never notified by Dodge or takata. I have own this car since 2013 brand new and have been driving for over 3 years, at any point in time during that me and my wife could have gotten into a really bad accident and died because the airbags didn't work. I would not have bought the car if I knew this, I was lied to by Dodge and sport durst where I purchased the car from and I want justice.

Had hood replace 1st time for rust 7/2015. 2nd time hood flew open while driving,replaced at our cost of deductible 4/2016. Checked hood 8/2016, secondary latch failed,able to open hood with primary only. Dealer states now latch has failed. Went back for install, now told stryker studs failed, need another hood. Told ok to drive with both safety devices failed"just dont open hood, you'll be ok. Over three weeks waiting for hood,was told forgot to order. Don miller Dodge madison WI y .

I have continuosly been having problems with my brakes and rotors, engine stalling while driving, and the lock to my drivers side door isnt working properly. I have had my brakes and rotors repaired three times within a 4 month time frame. This is ridiculous. I dont know what kind of mechanical meltdown this vehicle is having. But some needs to provide some answers.

Hit a few deer head on it took out both sides and complete front end and air bags didn't deploy and it was a pretty hard impact ill be surprised if they don't total the vehicle out we were on hwy 45 in bloomington indiana.

I purchased my Dodge Avenger brand new in 2013. After two years of having my car, my car started to not want to turn on. I would continue to try and sometimes it would work and not other times. I went to get the battery checked and was told it was fine. I then went to a dealership and they said I probably needed to get a fuel injector done so I did this as well and my car still time to time will not start. 2nd my left side body panel one day just popped out of place and when I would go to shut my door it would make a clicking sound from me trying to shut it. I was not in a wreck, there is no explanation as to why my panel popped out of place. 3. My car is now not blowing heat out (and its winter right now) I only noticed this once it became cold out and needed to use it. First couple times I tried running the heat it would do so but only on the driver side. The passenger side was blowing out cold air. I had a auto shop look into this and they said they didn't see anything even wrong with any of it. But that they would need to do a diagnostic beforehand which is going to cost me $195 then I can go from there. . I keep seeing where a lot of Avengers are having the same problems with there heating system. . Could this be all from a manufacturing problem with the heater core??.

I was involved in an accident. My car had 21000 miles. Someone ran a light through an emergancy lane the front of our vehicles collided. No air bags deployed, my engine ended up on the ground as well as my radiator. It was a total loss. Shouldn't there have been airbags deployed?.

I was exiting out of a parking lot in town and traffic was back up and at a standstill. As I attempted to turn left a car tried passing the stopped traffic in a no passing zone. The vehicle hit the front of my car, totaling it. The bumper was on the ground , radiator sideways, hood crinkled, fenders destroyed. My airbags did not deploy. The car that hit me was going fast and caused major damage. Taylorville police department police report number 15-341.

I was traveling down a busy road when a truck pulled out in front of me with no time to stop and smashed my whole front end in mainly on the passenger side and I had no air bag depolyment.

While approaching a stop sign, I did hit the breaks, I felt a jolt however the car never stopped. The car did skid across a highway, and land in a ditch. There was extensive front end damage, however no air bags deployed. Bothe me and my minor child were removed from the vehicle by emergency response teams. We did both sustain injuries. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was towed.

I was coming into a turn and a dog ran in front of the car very fast and I jerked and hit the curb as I hit the curb the car went on top of it than back onto the street I tried to hit the brakes numerous of times but they went stiff and all steering went away it was locked I lost all control of the vehicle. The car hit another car, damaging it and my insurance totaled out the Avenger. Now we are without a vehicle due to this. I went to the hospital with my passenger who was injured as well, doctor diagnosed me with a cervical strain. Since this incident I am still having headaches. My mother is the owner of the vehicle and still is shaken up about this.

While I was driving, the hood of my car became unlatched and inverted onto my windshield and warping to my windshield, and denting the roof of my car. These cause the hinges, roof, hood and latches to be replaced. Nearly 4000$ in damage.

Driving home from work at 5:40 pm, 3 deer ran out and after slamming on brakes the last one was struck, head on. The hood buckled and the entire engine of the car imploded in flames. No airbags went off and the car immediately died. I was able to pull car over to the side of the road and get out of car however, the car burned completely. The car engulfed in flames and the engine, windows, entire inside, everything burned. There is no dash, no steering wheel, seats, front tires, etc are gone. There is very little left and the manufaturer had an investigation done and will not tell me why this happened. My husband has a 2014 Avenger and we want to know if it is safe. But were told my manufacturer representative they would not tell me because they would not want it out in the public.
