We hit a patch of slush and ice, the rear tires locked and the car slammed head-on into a concrete pillar. The car's bumper, grille, support bar etc were severely damaged and the car was deemed a total loss. The radiator was folded into a "v". The driver's head hit the steering wheel resulting in a concussion. The airbag never deployed. Before the accident, the instrument panel was flashing on/off when we used the turn signal. The car didn't start or shut off at times. There is something seriously wrong with the electrical system/airbag.

I replaced my car with new brakes last year and I am already having to replace them again. Also, it keeps dying out. I seen on here there was a recall with the electrical system. I think the issue is still at hand. I've spent money on trying to figure out what is wrong with my car and the mechanics here in my area cannot figure it out. This car has so many issues especially due to electrical issues. Also, my car will jerk sometimes when I am at a stop light. I can't figure out what is wrong with it. I am thinking of getting another car because there is so many issues with this one.

"takata recall" on 1/5/17 my wife rear ended another driver after they slammed on brakes and my wife's brakes skirted cause sever damaged to the driver side of the car leaving her at fault and at the time my insurance lapse on the car. But the airbag did not deploy and she suffered injuries to her knees neck, shoulders and eye. I found Dodge has a recall for my make and model for the airbags but never told me and refused to help in any way and takata does not have a recall for my car for the airbags but for other Dodge models.

"takata recall"my wife got in a accident rear ending another car that stomped on breaks as she was trying to switch lanes her brakes did not clamp properly and her airbag did not deploy she was going 45mph on hwy 70 in durham, nc. She suffered injuries to her neck, shoulders, knees, and right eye. And our car received damages to the front driver side not driveable. After hearing from a mechanic that the airbag should have deploy and Dodge has a recall going on I did some research it was true. And my car did have a recall for the airbags since September of 2016 but I was never notified by Dodge or takata. I have own this car since 2013 brand new and have been driving for over 3 years, at any point in time during that me and my wife could have gotten into a really bad accident and died because the airbags didn't work. I would not have bought the car if I knew this, I was lied to by Dodge and sport durst where I purchased the car from and I want justice.
Car will rev and accelerate on its own even with brake pedal being pressed due to malfunctions in the electronic stability control I've even replaced the throttle body after reading forums about this similar problem and car continues to sporadically accelerate on its own at times while I'm driving or parked.
I wrote previously on the brakes not working resulting in accident but I can't find where to update my previous complaint so I'll add to it here. We have since learned the speed at time of accident was 21 mph, red light came on when brakes were pressed and there were no brakes. This is the 3rd time it happened. The other 2 the brakes came right back. The accident did result in the vehicle being totaled. Thank goodness no injuries but what we have since learned is the airbags did indeed deploy, thank goodness, but the driver seatbelt did not hold. When they got him out of the driver seat, the seatbelt was across him but no longer buckled. It was just laying across him, between the airbag and the driver. I did receive a occupant restraint controller notification saying there is a recall but it says they don't have a fix yet. This is beyond scary. Especially since we own two of the same vehicles. We couldn't afford to park the vehicles until a fix was made available so driving the other Avenger is very scary. I sure hope there is a remedy soon. The recall is also for the airbags which I thank my lucky stars at least they did deploy. The accident happened 11/16/2016. Photos attached.

Takata recall. Also I would like the brakes and or the rotors be investiagated as well. I had to have the brakes repaired 3x times since 2016 for the same reason with in 3to 4 months of each other and the rotor replaced . I saw that I am not the only one have this complaint as well as the roofing material is coming off and the car seems to be having a slight electrical issue where we lose power.

I have continuosly been having problems with my brakes and rotors, engine stalling while driving, and the lock to my drivers side door isnt working properly. I have had my brakes and rotors repaired three times within a 4 month time frame. This is ridiculous. I dont know what kind of mechanical meltdown this vehicle is having. But some needs to provide some answers.

I went to put my car in park and when I took my foot off the brake the car continued forward. I looked to see if I didn't put the car in park fully and the gear shift is in park however, the gear indicator says the car is still in drive.
I was coming into a turn and a dog ran in front of the car very fast and I jerked and hit the curb as I hit the curb the car went on top of it than back onto the street I tried to hit the brakes numerous of times but they went stiff and all steering went away it was locked I lost all control of the vehicle. The car hit another car, damaging it and my insurance totaled out the Avenger. Now we are without a vehicle due to this. I went to the hospital with my passenger who was injured as well, doctor diagnosed me with a cervical strain. Since this incident I am still having headaches. My mother is the owner of the vehicle and still is shaken up about this.

While driving down the interstate this vehicle's power steering and anti lock brakes stopped working and the vehicles rpms were as high as could be measured by the vehicle. This issues made it very difficult to navigate the vehicle off the roadway safely. The vehicle had to be towed to the nearest dealership and the alternator was diagnosed as the primary issue. The concern with this vehicle is that it has the same size engine and amp alternator as the Chrysler vehicles that are already under recall for alternator failure 3. 6l engine with a 160 amp alternator and the dealership repairing this vehicle states it is the same type of failure. I am concerned that this vehicles alternator should also be recalled as it poses a danger to the people driving it and any other vehicles on the road near this vehicle when this failure occurs.

I purchase a 2014 Dodge Avenger sept of 2013. January 2014 we begin to hear grinding or constant squealing during backing up or braking. Took it back to the dealer and they stated they were waiting on the manufacture to making new parts for these brake ok, so every month I'm taking it back to the dealer and getting the same answer nothing yet. No I have to drive a least 2 1/2 hours some day for work and just this pass week, I had to push real hard on the brakes to get it to stop. And the nose is getting louder and louder and the dealer still telling me the manufacture has not sent replace for these brakes they are making new one for all these cars. In the mean time this is my only source to get back and forth to the and I am afraid those brake are going to give out while driving.
1st complaint is the seatbelt will randomly lock and restrain you and and take several seconds to release. 2nd complaint is my driver side floor is constantly drenched with a fluid when it rains. 3rd complaint is the car shudders and vibrates when driving above 40mph. 4th complaint I was involved in a car accident and my air bags failed to deploy.
Was driving down the highway and noticed a delayed response when pushing down on the accelerator, moments later I was unable to accelerator and the car's electronic throttle control light appeared, the car was unable to go more then 15mph. Took the car to a service station where they ran a diagnostic test and no defaults were found.

13400 miles on car when right rear tire went flat. When I took off flat inside shoulder of tire had worn thru cords. Took to Dodge dealer in covington, TN and they said alignment must be out. Noticed left rear tire also showing steel cords on inner shoulder. Tech said didn't look like car had alignment at factory. Did alignment and alignment was . 03 degrease off on one tire the rest were within spec. Dealership cant explain what happened, no one ive talked to can explain what happened. 2000 miles from home in a new car and have to spend 400. 00 on tires and alignment. . . . . Not happy.

They tried to give me 500. 00 dollars for my trouble then later they tried to buy the car back for msrp. Which I would lost money know I have attorney to handle this proble this car is unsafe myself and my family at risk everyday until something is done.
The car feels like it jumps a bit when going from accelerating to slowing to stopping. Feels like a vibration slowing down. Also there had been noises coming from the steering column area. And you could hear like a clicking noise. There was another different noise from that area as well. The noises are hard to describe. It has been in the shop and they are basically not finding anything wrong with it. The clicking/sounds are not normal and that vibration is not normal regardless of what they say. The car does not run as smooth as a brand new car should run. Will not purchase a Dodge again.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that when applying the brakes, the vehicle would exhibit an abnormal sound. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer but the dealer was unable to diagnose a failure. The contact had not experienced a failure with the brakes. The failure mileage was 4,600. Updated 05/11/lj.
When brakes are applied the front end shakes and the steering wheel shakes so bad that you have to hold it tightly with both hands to control the car. New brakes 3 times, rotors and wheels have been put on car in the past year. Nothing has fixed it. Dodge has not done anything to remedy the issue. Dodge case#20420793 and dealer has replaced and turned rotors several times nothing works.

We purchased a 2009 Dodge Avenger in April or may of last year and immediately had trouble with thumping when using brakes. Took to delearship and was told no problem found with brakes. Months later brake pedal started feeling spongy would go to floor with very little brakes. Took to dealership and told no problems found with brakes. .
I have a 2008 Dodge Avenger that brakes are bad. The vehicle has been taken to Dodge several times for service and the brakes only last 2 months before they go out again. Fortunate for me I have not had any accidents yet with this vehicle and the braking system going out. Dodge has replaced the entire braking system and still I have this problem and refuse to believe that their is a safety issue with this particular vehicle and I have tried to contact the service manager, gm of the waldorf Dodge and Chrysler but no one has resolved this problem or even has gotten back to me on this issue. I have several receipts for parts that were replaced on the car and can provide them upon request the receipts have the part numbers on them.
During the cold, wet winter months in michigan, I began to notice that my 2008 Dodge Avenger was having trouble running when the brakes were applied. In December while exiting the expressway and coming to a stop at a light my car stalled. Now it seems every time it rains or we get a drastic change in temp when the break is applied to come to a stop, to slow down for a turn or pulling into a parking space the call will stall and all control of the vehicle is lost so to loss of power steering. It was taken to the dealership in February and kept for 3 days and the dealership could not get the vehicle to stall. No repairs were done and it continues to stall daily.
