This is a huge safety issue!!!!!! the engine randomly shuts off, which also causes the brakes to stop working and to have no power steering. Anything connected to the battery is fine (lights, radio, dashboard, etc. ). Myself, any passenger, and those around me are put at risk by the car shutting off in the middle of the road. Someone could hit me because I am not moving, or I am trying to get out of the way. Or I might end up hitting someone else because the brakes don't work. This is a huge risk to life and limb. Noone other than myself has tried to see what is going on with my car, specifically. I have already put out a lot of money on parts that research says it could be. Other people have had the same complaint about their Dodge vehicles. They have even taken them to many repair shops, with no one finding a real answer as to why this is happening. I would just like a car the safe to drive with my kids in it. As it is I fear for their safety if they were to ride in it. They are no warning lights or messages. I fear for my safety, the safety of my children, and the safety of others on the road around me. This car should really not be on the road without a definite answer to the problem.

I bought the car pre-owned. I knew almost immediately that there was a electrical problem because the inside lights would come on when I would break. I've had non stop problems with the car and until now I didn't know it was a recall problem. My gear shift linkage has went out stuck in gear. My water pump has gone out . It's overheated on numberous occasions smells like a electrical fire happening. The car won't start it stalls out all the time at least two times a day. The website says that my car has already received the recalls but the exact problems they have listed are the exact problems I'm having and it's a safety hazard for real. They told me I was going to have to pay to get it fixed since my car already received the recalls. I don't think this is fair I think that if they "fixed" it then it shouldn't be a problem now but it is so it seems like the "fix" didn't work I need help being pointed in the right direction of who can look at this and really fix it please.

Engine stopped during a red light intersection, cranked up once and engine stopped again. After a dangerous intersection situation , car was towed by a pair of young boys to a safe spot. A serious accident may have resulted, if not for the quick help. Being an automotive teacher and passed shop owner inspected the situation and have come to a conclusion that the tpim failed. No warning lights appeared during situation. Scanner will not pick up any codes when hooked up to try to correct problem. 2008 Avenger with 88000 miles, will take to dealership for repairs.

Just bought the car, within a month the brakes were grinding. Took it to the dealership and there was a power train leak which they replaced. A few days later, I was at an intersection turning and my wheel completely locked, causing me to hit the car in front of me and the air bags deployed. An officer happened to be on the same road and saw that my car was also smoking as well which may have been due to the previous power train leak. I looked at other recalls and sure enough, there are some on the 2011-2013 regarding steering and brake systems as well. They definitely need to check the 2014 Dodge Avenger as well for similar issues. Now the front passenger area and my axel is ruined and needs to be replaced.

My car is a 2014 doge Avenger that has the occupancy restrain failure code. I have done some research and found out the gm put only a certain number of these cars on the recall list: however, my car was not placed on the list. Unfortunately for me, I am having that issue. I would like to ask if there is anything possible you could do to get my recall service by Dodge.

The dash board lights started flashing. My engine light came on and the car turned off the steering was not working and the brakes were pressed to the floorboard . I almost hit a mailbox . Thank goodness there was no child near the school zone this has happened several times now . The mechanic says it could be the abs.

I was driving down the highway this has happened I believe atleast 3 times now, all of a sudden while driving not sure if a specific speed but I was going atleast 50 mph each time, the steering wheel seems to lock up for a good second or two which is a long time when your going that speed. It's extremely scary and the first time it happened I didn't know if it happened or not than it happened again not sure how long after and that's when I was like ok maybe that steering wheel did lock up before than when it happened again I knew for sure it was really happening cause I had a friend in passenger seat who witnessed this . Now it's been a while and my car all of a sudden won't start and my steering wheels will not lock . I've replaced sensors tried deleting codes . The codes I got were wrong immobilizer key and low voltage . Doing as much research as I have for the last week buying and trying things I've seen a major problem with these cars is a security issue and it can shut your car off as your driving normally. Thia is dangerous and for as many complaints how is there no recall on this.

The horn has a electrical shortage, which continues to honk, while driving, or standing still. Your Dodge Jeep Chrysler dealer in glendale, now tells me, that there is a short, and he knows that the switch is bad, as it continues to honk when the horn is connected. Now this dealer is charging me another $900. , but not sure it will fix problems. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned, it is a death trap, waiting to happen.

My case# 11323410, shop was not able to fix the problem and there appears to be a short some where in the colum of the steering wheel. My horn had to be disconnected just so it doesn't continue to blow while I am driving. My nerves have gotten very bad, listen to this horn continually blowing, car can be parked, or moving.

The subframe / engine cradle of my 20008 Dodge Avenger is totally rusted out with big holes in it. It's so brittle you can easily put a screw driver through what's left. This was discovered by belle tire when I was getting my tires rotated. I am the original owner since it was new. This car was brought for an oil change and inspection every 3,000 miles since new at golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram bloomfield hills, mi. The car was also purchased from this same dealership.

I was driving the car down the road when all of a sudden the wheels locked up and pulled hard left and my steering wheel locked up as well and I crashed.

While driving the car will stall out; I was driving on 3 lane highway going about 70 mph and was barely able to get it off to the side due to no power steering. Another time I was at a stop light and when light turned green and I pressed on accelerator the car stalled and a trash truck nearly ran into the rear of the vehicle. While driving my vehicle at 60mph, my gas pedal simply stopped working. My rpms on the dashboard went to 0(zero) and my vehicle began slowing down. I became stranded in the middle of the freeway with cars honking at me. I could not do anything but turning off the vehicle, then turning it back on. When it started up, I began driving for about 1/2 of a mile and it stalled again. I was able to pull off to the shoulder, but the steering became difficult to turn, and so did the brake. It's as if I was forcing the car to come to a complete stop, and the brake was fighting against my foot. I sat for 10 minutes before starting the vehicle again and quickly exiting the freeway. I took it to a private mechanic, and he pulled a code stating it was a faulty throttle body. After inspecting it, he recommended a complete cleaning of it. So he cleaned it. I went to drive home and the car stalled again, this time as I was coming to a stop sign. With cars behind me honking, it became embarrassing, so I exited the vehicle and pushed it off the side of the road as my passenger steered the vehicle. They noticed the same difficulty in steering and the hard brake. The problem has not been resolved, due to my inability to do so due to financial reasons. Upon doing some research there are many other 2010 Dodge Avenger owners facing this same safety hazard. As well as this issue, my car will randomly �honk� on its own. Just the other day, while sitting at a red light, it started to aggressively honk. The vehicle in front of me started driving(though it was a red) and almost ran into oncoming traffic. A nearby officer saw this and pulled me over. I was given a verbal warning and told to get the issue resolved immediately. The officer was being kind, and told me, he could have had the vehicle towed away for not functioning properly. The vehicle only have 129,000 miles.

Dashboard lights up without warning; dealer failed to correct or report when first purchased vehicle in 2011. Now in 2019, dealer denies record despite having given us loaner Jeep and Chrysler 200 in separate occasions. In 2019, car lights up randomly, engine stops while driving on freeway or in regular street traffic or turning at an intersection, and dealer reports unable to correct. Extremely hazardous. Worth a lawsuit. Dash lights up, engine shuts off, steering wheel locks, car sometimes starts again but not always. We paid the dealer to fully replace the crank sensor but that isn't fixing it. Tpm sensor warning appeared and isn't going away despite dealer stating it should. Replacing psi sensor did not correct this system warning either. Dealer said warning appeared 518 miles before we took it in but the error occurred on 5/12/19 and we took it in on 5/14/19, only driving about 15 miles from 5/12 - 5/12/19. Either dealer lied or info isn't being held on computer's memory. Tired of almost getting crashed into because the car randomly dies.

The manufacturer was contacted and a voice message was left, but they failed to respond. The contact stated that she was terrified to drive the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Engine cooling and engine malfunction. Car stalled in the middle of driving and had to get it towed this happened approximately around Nov. 8 2018 and the car has not worked since. Wheel does not stay in alignment when I get it aligned.

Driving at 50-55 mph and check engine and other dashboard lights flashed and started losing power. Pulled off to side street a few feet away. I was lucky to be able to get in center turn lane where the car died completely. Power steering also was lost. We pushed car off road where it restarted about 1/2 hour later. Driving home less then 5 miles it died but started again.

On my 2012 Dodge Avenger, I have had problems with my alternator and had to replace it 3 times, 2 times in the last 2 yrs. I have gotten it checked and the warning was detected that it was the charging system, and wiring system. The first time I experienced this, my engine light came on and the car stalled immediately with almost no warning except the light pops on deceleration and stalled on the interstate. The next time I experienced it was when I was driving home from work battery light then check engine light then the next day I needed a battery but I was told at the Dodge dealership that the code was for the charging system not charging properly my VIN number is not one of the vins that is a recall for my car, how is this possible when I am having the same problems time after time. I see where several customers have reported for the same problems with the same make and model. Why is this not a recall for my VIN as well.

While driving my steering wheel locked up and the brake would not engage while the engine was still running. And this has happened about 4 times within a couple of months.

My airbag light constantly turning on and off when I turn left or right my car never been wrecked before.

6. 1. 17 at roughly 7:50am, my 2014 Dodge Avenger lx with rallye package completely shutoff while doing highway speeds - 70mph cruise, flat land. Power steering was gone and thankfully no other cars were on the road. I placed the car in neutral and was able to get it started to continue on my way to work. Over the past year, we've experienced numerous issues such random accelerations without cause, dummy lights flashing or coming on and then disappearing on their own, acceleration issues where car will not go over 40, etc. Issues have not been able to be replicated and has not been brought to the dealership for that purpose as I had a friend experience the same and the dealership told her they couldn't recreate so there was no issue. I have contacted my dealership and have an appointment for 6. 5. 17, and I have also contacted Chrysler regarding the issue so they can get a case manager assigned. I no longer feel safe driving myself or my children in this vehicle, as I have found several have experienced the issue without remedy.

When I make a sharp turn right it is as if there is no power steering. It has happened once before but the opposite and eventually started to work,. This is scary.

Vehicle brakes and steering froze up while attempting to go around another driver. This resulted in a total loss. This was on a dry city street. The driver in front of the vehicle was turning into a business, attempted to go around when the brakes and steering just stopped working. This vehicle was just service a few weeks prior to the incident.

I received email from NHTSA 16v273 for steering hose issue. I call dealership said no recall on my car. Also I still unable to know if my car is in danger for takata air bags no results for months on that too. What steps do I do get answer on steering and takata if my car and I are in jeopardy?.

While driving on the interstate doing about 65mph at 5am, I disengaged the cruise control on my vehicle, my car all the sudden turned off and lost complete power, including steering, brakes, and acceleration. The key was still in the on position. This is a major safety hazard! had I not been able to coast and engage the emergency break, I would have crashed and most likely suffered serious bodily injuries or death. This is the third time this has happened to me and I have read this has happened to others already as well. The entire electrical system failed because my engine turned off as well as the dashboard completely went dark to include headlights, turn signals, and the hazard lights. My vehicle has stopped in motion all the sudden for no apparent reason two times in one week. I made an appointment with the dealership to get the vehicle diagnosed but I am still afraid to drive to the dealership because it may happen again while driving either on the highway, interstate, or on any street. I am not 100% certain what caused the vehicle to turn off while in motion 3 times already in one week but it has created a major safety hazard for myself and other motorist on the highway/interstate. I believe it has something to do with the electrical system or engine because the lost of complete power is what occurs each time.
