2010 Dodge Caliber with headlight failures caused by faulty fuse box (tipm). I replace bulbs and one headlight will not light low beam or high beam. All the fuses are good. It has also affected how the car runs and has stalled on the road. This is the 4th or fifth incident I have had with the car, headlights, stalling, turn signals, air bag indicators. The headlights will not work moving or sitting still and turn signals.

I got my oil change done at 67,000 miles and since then my car jerks and feels weird when I drive it. I'm worried that it may stall on me when driving on the highway or city and that's dangerous for my kids and others on the road. Please investigate the transmission as it's made by Nissan and Nissan has a lot of problems with their cvts.

After making slight turn (either direction), and hitting small bump. Ie, transition between highway and side street. Vehicle stalls. Loose all steering and excelleration. Have to quickly put into nuetral while coasting and restart engine. No accidents yet. Maybe Dodge needs a few more deaths on their hands to consider fixing these issues. Has happened multiple times over last 2 months.

I can drive the car but can't speed up or engine light will flash. If I'm at a stop light too long my car will stall while engine light is flashing and can't turn over engine right away.
2007 Dodge Caliber stalls at a stoplight and when coming to a stop/ low speed. This stalling happens at all times during the day when operating the vehicle. It is extremely dangerous, and must be remedied immediately. I have taken my car to the dealership, to various mechanics/technicians, and still the problem persists. This is an ongoing issue with numerous Dodge Caliber owners, and has yet to be addressed by Dodge. Please act in good faith and provide a remedy.

I was driving my 2008 Dodge Caliber in February 2015 traveling roughly 45 mph when suddenly the battery light and all dash lights began to come on and flash. I was able (just barely) to avoid a head on collision with another vehicle and parked the car; in the previous 30 days I had several repairs made that included the alternator and batter, et cetera. Vehicle was towed to the repairing shop where a new alternator and battery were installed, then tonight 20150411 the batter light has again come on with fluctuating speeds. I have researched and read about multiple problems with the Dodge Caliber regarding the tipms system or such; the fact that the Chrysler corporation has been able to consistently fail to make the required repairs to these vehicles is atrocious. The lives of other vehicle operators are being put at risk; I'm certain that something more should be done.
The car while traveling the engine will suddenly race and loose power and will stall. The only solution is to sop the car put in park and restart the engine. Highly dangerous on a crowed road or making turns. I have taken the car to three different dealerships and now the car is at james brown Dodge in tampa, FL and I am renting a car until they fix this car again. The car has been fixed by this dealer and two other dealership with no solution.
This is the third time since I have had this car beginning in September 2014 with about 60k the car suddenly stalls making the car very difficult handle. I think the technition called is cvm modelual, or something simular, I was in north carolina at the time since my grandmother was passed away. I paid them over an hundred dollars so that I could then take the car to a deale near my home in tampa florida. I then took the car to courtsey Dodge in October with the same problem and sudden stall in dangerous traffic conditions. I am in a chapter 13 and courtsey was very rude and slow about returning the car to me with another hundred dollars out of pocket. Friday Nov 7 I spent a terrifying trip of about twenty miles stalling and restarting the car and brought the car to jim brown dealership who was more freindly to my poor financial condition.
I purchased this 2007 Dodge Caliber rt awd in Dec of 2012. The dealership grand Chrysler Dodge Jeep in lowell, michigan on main st, reported to me the consumer, before purchase, at my request, a vehicle history stating 1 owner vehicle with no accidents. Thank god I did get the warranty because less than 14 days fresh off the lot, the vehicle loss all power and barely driveable, the car, while I was driving it, on the highway around 55 to 60 mph, lost speed real quickly and and could barely drive it to get it off the road. The vehicle coded at service shop 02 censors and catillatic convertor, the vehicle was at the dealer service dept and back and forth from my home for more than a month, until finally the Caliber had to be seen by a service representative from Chrysler/Dodge and now pushing 2 months without the vehicle not only did the 02 sensors and catillatic convertor had to be replaced, but the computer too. Got the vehicle back drove it 3 months and the vehicle had grinding in the front end, electrical seat heating and blinkers systems were malfunctioning, each tim the engine light came on and the vehicle remained sluggish and unsafe to drive, but the dealership lacked concern and made me drive it in the unsafe condition from west olive michigan to lowell. Oct 2014 the vehicle almost caused me to get into a serious rear end accident. I was driving 60mph on the highway and it went from 60 mph to 10 mph just like that cars on the highway swirved to miss hitting me and I was almost rear ended. The car completely stalled. A gentleman stopped to help me push it off the road. . Vehicle and I sat for alomost an hour waiting for tow service. Service dept. Coded the vehicle with a crank shaft censor problem and a recall as well for the front end cross member rusts out and cause bad settling and excessive tire pressure from the errosion not supporting the sub frame.
I was stopped in traffic at a red light, train was coming so I was holding my brakes. It felt as if the car was jerking forward not with alot of power but enough for me to notice. I look at my dash and I noticed that a redlight that seem to be red lighting bolts was on. I immediately pull my car out of traffic. While trying to get the car out of the road I notice it was slowly accelarating my car didnt go pass 20mph. I parked the car and waited to see if I could just try to drive it home which was only 1. 5 miles at the most away. I had no issues besides the car wouldn't go pass 20mph and when it stalled it seemed as if it would jerk forward, while driving the car home. Before that day I had no issues.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Caliber. While driving 70 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 52,500.
I was driving and the car stalled out and a car almost hit me. I found out later that the throttle body messed up and shut may car down. . Dodge should really recall this.
Tl - the contact owns a 2008 Dodge Caliber. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. Just turned a corner, engine light came on, then stalled. Car would not restart. Had to wait about 15 minutes then car would start. Made it almost to destination and then stalled again. . . Had to coast downhill to make it to my destination.
After two recent gas fill ups, two separate times while driving at a very low speed and once more from a stop, the car stalled out. The second time that it stalled from a slow speed it stalled two or three times within a five minute timeframe. Car was purchased and built in 2006, the same time that other Dodge and Chrysler vehicles have been known to do this.
Car continues to stall at stoplights or in stop-and-go traffic. Complained to Dodge and dealer agreed to keep car for a week to test drive and replicate issue. The technician drove for several days but the car did not stall out. Dealer tested wiring, connections, and terminals. Nothing was found. I was told that the issue would need to be verified to properly diagnose and repair.
The vehicle stalls without warning as I am coming to a stop (such as a stop light or stop sign). There is no warning in the warning lights and this is very dangerous. I have had this happen numerous times. I bought the car used and have had the car under a year. I bought it with almost 39, 000 miles on it and only have 41, 800 on there now. It has been taken in for service at the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and they found nothing wrong. I am having the spark plugs replaced and having a maintenance check as they suggested for a fee. . . . And for a larger fee (nearly 400. 00) I can get the full service they think may alleviate the problem?? I find this problem to be a serious safety issue and have seen where other owners are complaining of the same problem. This can cause a serious accident and when will something be done about this? there should be a re-call on this as it poses a serious safety issue.
This vehicle has stalled twice and spuuters and jerks intermitently stopped at a light, railroad crossing or otherwise. When it stalls I am able to restart it. It has been seen on 5 differently occassions and the dealers state it does not code so there is nothing they can do about.
This vehicle has stalled twice and sputters and jerks intermittently stopped at a light, railroad crossing or otherwise. When it stalls I am able to restart it. It has been seen on 5 differently occasions and the dealers state it does not code so there is nothing they can do about. To date, (April 11-2013) the vehicle continues to sputter and stall and Dodge dealer says it does not code so they can not fix the problem. This is a very convenient excuse for not fixing a vehicle that is still under mfg warranty. Something has to be done! this is an accident waiting to happen and I hope its not a bad one.
I was driving to work going up a hill when the car shook a little and started to decelerate. I noticed there was a blinking symbol on the dash of a lightning bolt between two lines. I was not able to accelerate fast enough to keep my speed going up the hill, and decelerated very quickly. Anytime I was at a stop light it took about 5 seconds before I was even able to move forward. During the 5 seconds, the car seemed like it was going to stall at the intersection. Once I reached work I looked up the light in the owners manual and found it to be an electronic control light. I tried turning off the car and turning it back on only to realize that nothing had changed. This could easily cause an accident and from what I understand there is no fix, only theories.
Whenever I have the lights on, radio on, fan blower on, and I'm stopped at a light in drive mode (automatic transmission), the engine shakes and dies. It's almost as if the car is experiencing computer overload. Too many things going on for the car to handle so the computer crashes causing the car to die. The car always starts back up. No indicator lights go off on the dash. It only happens occasionally under the above mentioned circumstances. If you add on the front & rear wipers same thing happens. I've had it checked out at 3 different places, paying and for free, and they all tell me they could not find anything wrong with the car. This is a serious safety issue especially since I have a baby in the car. I have aaa and road side assistance through my insurance but they always take an hour to get to you. I've never had to use them because the car always starts back up again. This car needs to be recalled because other wise the car functions normally as long as I don't have the lights on, radio on, fan blower on, and I'm stopped at a light in drive mode. If you put it in neutral sometimes the car wants to stall but it doesn't always prevent the car from shutting down. Read lots of complaints about this model, similar issue.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Dodge Caliber. The contact stated that while driving through a large puddle of water at low speeds, the wheels locked up. The vehicle was later taken to the dealer for diagnosis. After diagnosis they advised him that they were unable to reenact the failure due to not having any water to drive the vehicle through. After the failure the vehicle has stalled on an intermittent basis while driving at various speeds. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. The current mileage was approximately 66,000. Tb.
While driving vehicle in the rain on the highway at about 45 miles per hour in rush-hour traffic, the car began to jerk this lasted for several seconds before the car completely stalled. It restarted immediately. Took to dealer who test drove and found no issues or codes.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Caliber. While traveling 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed and no repairs were performed. The current and the failure mileages were 75,000.
While at a stop and not during acceleration, the vehicle begins to sputter and chug as if it is going to stall; sometimes it stalls, but starts right back. Other times when accelerating, it jumps before catching and accelerating smoothly. Took car to the dealer and they were unable duplicate the complaint and no codes were found.
Vehicle stalls in traffic after filling tank with fuel. After stalling a couple of times condition clears. Have avoided filling tank but that does not always happen and stalling creates hazardous condition when wife drives car and has grand child in car.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Caliber. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to dealer where a diagnostic was performed but no failure was determined in the vehicle. The dealer updated the computer software but to no avail. The failure recurred sporadically and randomly. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The current mileage was 3,400. The failure mileage was not available.
Had come to a stop at an intersection for a red light. Green light making left hand turn, car stalled out in intersection, able to restart car. I am at 89k now ever since then the car has been randomly stalling out at stops. I keep up with my vehicle maintenance. By doing some research this problem is a cause for concern, multiple complaints about this problem around the internet. This a safety issue and I believe it should be looked into and corrected. These problems can be prevented.
