I purchase this vehicle from owner in Dec. 2013 and start having problem the owner I purchase it from purchase it from a bank back in 2006. They did know about an recall or etc. About this vehcle. The electric has problem and airbags, the fuel tank is leaking and fuel injection and etc,. Where can I can get help for these problems. Etc. ,.
Vehicle was experiencing the same defect and consequences as stated in recall 04v2800000 for the air bag clock spring. But this model year was not included in the recall.
I complained to the Chrysler's customer service department requesting that they fix a defective part free of charge. They refused to repair it for free and recommended that I fix it ASAP since its not safe to drive. It is a defect and I have even read it as a recall in other documents. The airbag and the horn does not work. Texas will not even safety approve my vehicle without this being fixed.
While traveling at 45 mph on sunny good weather the engine stalled whithout any warning, causing an accident. The car will not start again.
Clockspring mechanism.
We received a recall notice on the clockspring mechanism of our Dodge Caravan which affects the airbag, but when I took it back to the dealership we bought it at Dodge city in hermitage, PA, they refused to fix it unless we also paid for other repairs.
I submitted a request for reimbursement for the clock spring repair (safety recall) in my then 1996 Dodge Caravan on January 28, 2003. I have not heard from daimler Chrysler since. I have telephoned and sent them a second letter requesting reimbursement but again have not heard from them. I am disappointed and frustrated that they take this position. What can I do to get their attention.
The vehicles clockspring failed prior to recall notice. The consumer submitted the invoice for reimbursement but the consumer did not receive full reimbursement. The manufacturer did not reimburse the consumer for the diagnostic test.
While driving, the horn system failed. Prior to this happening, the air bag senor light had come on and stayed on. The dealership replaced the clock spring.
The clock spring was replaced per invoice to insure safety. Scc.
While driving the clock spring failed causing the vehicles horn to be inoperative. The dealer has been notified.

The clockspring assembly failed rendering airbag useless. The failed part was dismantled and it seems to me that this failure is a latent defect that is indeed safety related. I'd be happy to supply you the part since Chrysler seems uninterested in resolving this matter.
Consumer received a safety recall notice to replace minivan's clock spring assembly.
Front driver airbag is inoperable. Dealer has been notified. Provide further information.
The horn, speed control and airbag are all connected to the steering wheel through the clockspring. At this point, both the horn and airbag are completely disabled and the speed control rarely functions. I've called my local dealer about recalls or courtesy repairs and they state that none are allowed for this problem. Repairs have not yet been made.
With this out your air bags, horn and cruise control fail to operate.

Cruise control stopped working, and windshield wipers work intermittently. Dealership is aware of problem. Mechanic at the dealership told consumer she needed a clock spring.
Dealer would not replace clock spring under extended warranty. My cruise control is inoperative as well my air bag dash lite is on. Dodge has a problem with this and should be held accountable. . . . Thank you. . . . Jeff roberts.
Clockspring (located in the steering wheel) failure resulted in loss of use of both airbags, the cruise control and the horn.
Air bag, cruise control, horn, was not working. Clockspring was defective. Change clockspring myself.

Consumer states the electrical power for the horn, cruise control, and air bag were inoperable, abs light illuminated, local garage replaced an electrical ring assembly int the steering wheel assembly.

Dealer diagnosed that the clock spring had failed which in turn caused the failure of an electrical module resulting in disarming the air bag, horn, and cruise control. Total cost to repair was $644. 14.
