Automatic Transmission Cooler problems of the 1996 Dodge Caravan

Four problems related to automatic transmission cooler have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2003

While driving consumer heard a loud distributing noise coming from the transmission. Consumer pulled over to check and saw coolant fluid leaking. Consumer had the vehicle towed.

2 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2002

Transmission fluids were leaking from underneath transmission. Dealer was notified and made repairs. Feel free to provide any further information.

3 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem

Failure Date: 11/08/2001

When vehicle is parked transmission fluid would leak out and make it difficult to down shift or upshif. Vehicle had been at dealer four times for transmission fluid leaks. Mechanic will clean and check leakage coolant hose which had been replaced. Please provide more information.

4 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem

Failure Date: 06/25/1998

Had pulled into station. Restarted vehicle & was shifting into gear when vehicle jerked. The transmission fluid leaked out. Will be taking vehicle to dealer.
