Tl the contact owned a 1998 Dodge Caravan. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact's vehicle crashed into a second vehicle. The front end was severely damaged. The driver's side air bag did not deploy. The passenger side air bag deployed although no passenger was present in the vehicle. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The driver sustained a head laceration above the right eye, a concussion, a bruised heart and lung, left knee laceration, and chest bruises from the seat belts. Also, both wrists and elbows were injured. A police report was filed. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 135,000.

The contact's husband was driving the vehicle and he hit the steering wheel, and his coworker was the passenger, and he went into the windshield. Both occupants where wearing their seat belts and where properly restrained. The air bag warning light was on before recall repairs had been done in July 2005, and horn would not work. After the recall repairs were completed the light did not come back on. There was pre-impact braking to both occupants. This caused injuries to both occupants. The dealership and the manufacturer have been contacted, and they told her they would send her file off to special investigations, and she may hear from back from them, and she may not. This accident occurred on October 11, 2005. T a police report was taken. The accident caused property damage to the vehicle.
Contact stated on 3-20-05 another van veered into contact's vehicle lane and hit it and ran it into a cement pole. Vehicle was totaled. Upon impact, driver's side air bag did not deploy, but passenger's side air bag deployed. There was one injury. Contact not yet talked to dealer or manufacturer. Contact received a recall letter on 8-8-05 regarding the clock spring in the air bag. She did not think the air bag light illuminated on the dashboard before the accident. Contact owned the car for 14 days prior to the accident.

When the consumer applied brakes, the pedal went to the floor. The consumer was unable to maintain control of the vehicle and skidded into embankment and flipped twice. The light on the dash always indicated that the air bags were enabled.
I have had a recent problem where I just thought that the air bag light was on. I later learned that not only is the air bag light on but the air bag will not deploy if n accident occurs. In addition the horn and cruise control does not work. By searching on the web I have learned from the dealer that this is a common problem in their vehicles. It will cost me over 250 dollars to correct. How can Dodge know that this problem exists and does not tell anyone or have a recall. This is deplorable. In oct I rear ended another car and the airbags did not deployapx speed 30-35 , we got the reapirs done and 8 days after I got it back the airbags deployed which caused me to rear end onther car which caused injury to me and ithers asd well as major damage to both vehicles. And from what I have heard there has been some recalls on the Caravans airbags I am not sure if this is where I need to be to report this ans to also get more information on this problem or even where ans what do I do from here???.
While driving air bags deployed for no reason and unexpectedly. Took vehicle to dealer, and mechanic could not locate cause of problem. Manufacturer sent an inspector. Inspector indicated possible cause was accident from last year,and air bags did not deploy.
While driving 45mph another car hit consumer's vehicle from behind and air bags did not deploy.
My husband rear ended another vehicle between 40 - 45 mph and my airbags did not deploy. I am concerned that if I had been driving I would have hit the steering column as I drive closer to the wheel. I have spoken with numerous people who all state that at the speed he was going the bag should have deployed. The impact was all frontal, he did try to avoid hitting the vehicle, but the impact is from the center of the hood on the drivers side back to the windshield. The vehicle is a potential total.
Vehicle was hit on left front and right front at 25 mph+ and the air bags did not deploy. Substantial damage occurred to the vehicle front end, frame was bent, radiator was busted and the front of the vehilce was pushed back several inches. Photos and video of damage is available.
12/15/1999 accident at @ noon, I struck the rear of a leaf collection vehicle, resulting in @ $7000 worth of damage to my car majority of damage in front, air bag never deployed, after car was repaired I air bag light remained continuously on when car was on.

Consumer was traveling 50mph and rearended a vehicle that came to sudden stop. Driver's seat collapsed backwards. Upon impact, air bags failed to deploy. Driver suffered injuries in both cases. Vehicle was totaled after 12/14/00.
