Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 2000 Dodge Caravan

The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, another vehicle crashed into the passenger side of the contact. Upon impact, the air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained a contusion on the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the air bags were faulty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure and current mileage was 127,000.

The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Caravan. The contact was traveling 60 mph when the contact crashed into a deer. The air bags did not deploy and the vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was repaired or inspected for the air bag failure. The failure mileage was 196,000.

The airbag light was not illuminated prior to the accident. The vehicle sustained frontal damage and was deemed totaled by the insurance agency. The passenger and driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and both were wearing seatbelts. A police report was filed at the scene. The manufacturer was alerted.

2000 Dodge Caravan swerved to avoid a deer and went off the road at a speed over 55 mph, striking the front end and undercarriage as it careened down and then up a drainage ditch, to the extent that parts of the van were torn away from the vehicle and causing the transmission to disengaged. The van then went through a wooden fence striking one of the main posts within the angle outlined on the pamphlet Dodge sent in response to my complaint, and finally crashed into a pine tree. The Caravan was totaled. The airbags did not deploy resulting in multiple injuries: to the drivers left arm, head when it bounced off the steering wheel repeatedly knocking her unconscious, injuries to the neck and back, and right ribs from the seat belt. We contacted daimler Chrysler and were sent a form letter denying any fault in deployment. Subsequently we found that there was in fact a recall issued in October 2004 citing the airbag clock spring.

During a 35 mph frontal vehicle collision front air bags did not deploy. Consumer sustained neck injures. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. The consumer stated that the vehicle shifts out of the park position without the foot behing on the brake. 4 year old hit the shift lever and the vehicle rolled down the driveway and across the street.

While driving at 45 mph, the consumer's vehicle was two cars behind a stopped vehicle, making a u turn. The first vehicle was struck in the rear, and the second vehicle bounced back and collided with the front of the consumer's vehicle. The consumer and passenger were wearing seat belts, but the airbags did not deploy. One passenger sustained a bruised chest and abdomen. The vehicle was totaled.

While driving 40 mph vehicle was involved in a frontal collision. Traffic suddenly stopped, and consumer's vehicle hit another vehicle. Front air bags did not deploy. Driver sustained neck injury. Front passenger's chest was bruised from the seat belt. Four passengers in the rear sustained minor injuries. All passenger were wearing seat belts. Front passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment. There was no indication or warning that there was a problem with the air bags before the collision. Chrysler was sending a technician to inspect the vehicle.

Consumer states that while driving at 30 mph. Vehicle was in a head on collision. Consumer states that both of the front air bags did not deploy. Dealer notified.

Consumer was involved in an accident, and the airbags failed to deploy.

Consumer states while driving 55mph hit a car brodeside and air bag did not deploy. Causing serious injuries.

Consumer states another motorist ran a red light, consumer hit the vehicle and the airbags did not deploy, consumer suffered injuries.

Initial impact to front driver's side and air bag did not deploy) I had contacted a law firm which indicated they couldn't sue for at least a million dollars, so I contacted daimler Chrysler who indicated that they investigated the wreck and reported, "))) that due to the spinning type of accident)))" and it was not subjected to the necessary g forces required and that, "obviously, in reviewing the police report, this is not the type of impact your vehicle was involved in)" the police report indicates that I was doing 50 to 70 mph upon first impact with a guard rail, almost head on) they even indicated specifically that the driver's side air bag did not deploy) I am sure that this was not a valid analysis and wanted to officially inform you that, while I was not seriuosly injured and was alone in the accident, I am concerned that the air bag deployment is faulty in these vehicles) I have pictures of a severly dented steering wheel which happened upon impact) if that's not enough g force, then they need to reengineer the thing!.

Had just started to park vehicle when it suddenly accelerated. There was no warning prior to acceleration. Vehicle hit a tree, and air bags failed to deploy. Vehicle towed to garage where it was repaired. Owner believed accelerator became stuck.

Consumer was traveling about 25mph on a ramp. Applied brakes and the abs braking system didn't work, and pedal didn't go down to the floor. He hit vehicle in front. There were no injuries. Air bags did not deploy.

While driving at 65 mph consumer's vehicle hit another vehicle. Upon impact, third rear seat flew forward, and the children who were seated there, sustained knee injuries. Also, driver's and passenger's airbags did not deploy, and did not protect the occupants in the crash. Manufacturer was not willing to help. Please provide further information.

Consumer was driving at approximately 35 mph when another vehicle cut in frontof consumer, hitting vehicle in the front left side. Upon impact, dual airbags did not deploy, possibly due to a defective module within airbag. Consumer contacted manfacturer . Sent an inspecter who inspected vehicle. But, will not release information regarding inspection of vehicle to consumer.
