Failure Date: 03/21/2019

I bought a 2007 Dodge Caravan, the drivers side window switch seems to be burning out not allowing me to roll the window down on the electric switch and when it does, has a hard time trying to go back up. Then my drivers side passenger van door has a button on top in the front that you can hit it and its suppose to open that side of the van door, the van door also doesn't open from the inside it has to be opened on the outside posing a dangerous issue. But the other switch opens the passenger side van door fine. My 3rd row seats don't want to stay up , they want to lay down posing safety hazards. My bearings or something sound bad, and my passenger side door has to be opened on the inside and wo'nt open on the outside.

10 Suspension problem of the 1999 Dodge Caravan

Failure Date: 01/20/2014

Preparing to exit a parking lot, the gear shift was accidentally caught by my sleeve and pulled down to the "drive" position. The vehicle was not running, but it began to move forward. Being on somewhat of a slope, the vehicle pulled onto a busy street. I grabbed the wheel to turn the van away from traffic, but it hit and scraped against a high curb, flattening 2 tires, damaging the wheels/rims of those tires, bending a strut and other damage to the suspension (I got a repair estimate from firestone, which totaled over $1,900. 00). I didn't think it was possible for the gear shift to move without having my foot on the brake, but move it did and so did the van. Other than being frightened and shaken, we were fortunate that no physical injuries occurred. However, had I not had that split second reaction to turn the steering wheel, there would have been a very bad collision with at least two vehicles driving down the busy street. Wondering why the gear shift was able to move without the car running and without my foot on the brake, I did some research and found that Chrysler knows about this grievous omission and did not want to spend the extra $9. 00 per van to install a brake shift interlock. I'm incredulous! I intend to write to Chrysler in hopes of being reimbursed for the damages sustained to my vehicle, but first wanted to report this incident to the appropriate agency.

14 Suspension problem of the 2005 Dodge Caravan

Failure Date: 04/15/2013

I purchased monroe econo-matic strut assemblies in Feb 2013 from rock auto. I installed them in March on my 2005 Dodge grand Caravan. The right one started making a loud clunking noise about one month later. I found out the warranty is only 30 days through rock auto. When I checked monroe's sight, I found they don't have a warranty at all. I sent a email to their customer support but they never responded. I searched online for complaints about monroe struts and was stunned to find so many. I think this needs to be investigated. I would be glad to send my broken strut to be tested. I don't believe monroe struts are safe and the public needs to know.

15 Suspension problem of the 1998 Dodge Caravan

Failure Date: 04/11/2013

Major concern is about the strut housing roughing out been looking this up and from 97 to 2000 maybe a bit longer this has been a major issue that Chrysler need to address. I know they don't want the responsibility of the matter ,but some one could get hurt from this. I just found out about this and have been searching all the information I can find on this issue. This is faulty design of Chrysler, they made tons of money selling the vans, even after this started to happen they still didnt change the design. Well I have to have mine done but in the mean time I better not get hurt from one letting loose. I survived cancer not to die from a auto accident do to a so so good design.

The contact has taken the vehicle to the dealer a few times, but they stated that there was only a kit used to seal the shocks in place; however, it is a temporary remedy and the failure would most likely recur. 21 Suspension problem of the 1998 Dodge Caravan

Failure Date: 09/30/2004

On Thursday, September 30, 2004 I was informed by my dealer rouen Chrysler in woodville, ohio that my LS front power tower (housing for left strut, engine bracket, etc) was rusted through and would immediate repair or the strut would collapse, enginge bracket and entire front end of the car would collapse causing an accident and injury. The repair was exhorbitant initially. After discussion a service bulletin 23-044-02 was produced that indicated there was a defect for all Dodge Caravan's model years 1996-200. My vehicle is a 1998 Dodge Caravan. The service bulletin indicated a repair kit and I was given a more reasonable estimate by the rouen body shop. The service techs were seeking the problem with my horn which wasn't working on all decibles. If they had not been looking at the left front inside of the vehicle this condition would have continued until there was a fatality. My vehicle VIN#2b4fp253xwr842683 has been exclusively serviced by rouen technicians from its purcase in August 1996. There is no excuse for this oversight and I fear that left unnoticed as it had been for this amount of time a fatality would have occurred. I blame this dealership entirely for this negligence and doubt if I will ever buy another Chrysler product and certainly not at this dealership. The service department and warren are well aware of my concern. No action has been taken. I will need immediate transportation. My first vehicle purshased in April 1996 a Plymouth voyager had complete engine failure and could nto be fixed, now this. Is it any wonder I doubt the credibility of Chrysler products and the long-term reliability due to proven manufacturing defects which endanger my life.
