1 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 01/11/2021

Manual transmission gear shifter gets stuck in gear and will not shift out of gear while making gear shift change started happening at 19000 miles then at 25000 miles the clutch shattered into a 100 pieces makeing a loud bang and none stop chattering while driving in 3rd gear at 40mph on city street causing complete clutch failure an unable to shift into any gear after the clutch failure only leaving neutral available. Causing me to have to quickly coast and pull over 3 lanes and park before getting stuck in a moving lane. Dealer won't cover the faulty shattered clutch under its 36000 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. Saying it's normal wear and tear if it was normal wear and tear the clutch would be worn and intact and slipping not shattered in pieces due to the sever failure of the clutch the flywheel and release throw out bearings were also severely damaged and needed replacing as well.

3 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2012 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 09/29/2018

Takata recall. On my 2012 Dodge Challenger srt8 model with the automatic 6. 4l v8 engine the alternator just randomly short circuited while I was driving. Luckily I was driving very slowly at that momemt when it inicially occurred. I was on a residencial street then the vehicle just completely shut down. The dashboard lights all started to flash aswell as the stereo monitor was flashing very akwardly. The vehicle no longer turned on & had to be manually placed into neutral to be pushed home. The vehicle will not start even with a jump. If the battery gets charged up independently disconnected from the vehicle it will only give it enough power to start up for just a moment. It has be determined by the delearship that it is the alternator. I came across a public forum that some Dodge Challenger models from years 2011 to 2014 have had the alternator recalled, but this VIN has not been associated with that recall. I have a strong feeling that it should be. Especially since this happened just as described for the models that have had this recall. Alternator without warning has failed on the vehicle.

6 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2014 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 02/11/2014

I purchased my 2014 Dodge Challenger r/t 6 speed manual transmission on January 6th 2014. This was my dream car and I never thought I could afford one. So it saddens me to have to go to this extreame to get some involvment on a issue that is being ignored. My first service was on febuary 11th. I took the car in because of engine noise. The dealer replaced the catalytic converter thinking that was the noise. On may 31st at 5,000 miles the dealer replaced the lifters on the car. These did not solve the issue and it was getting louder. You can hear it inside the car while driving. I took the car to another dealer at around 10,000 miles with the same noise complaint on November 8th. I called Dodge customer service after no resolution. They reffered me back to the dealer to do a diagnoises on the car. I picked the car back up on November 11th and the dealer informed me that this noise is and I quote "agree that noise is louder than a 15 model but noise is still there in a 15 model. Common noise that differ slightly from vehicle to vehicle. Reviewed TSB and star case. Lifters had been changed by another dealership. Conducted procedure in star case s1309000013 and inspected components for failures listed in star case s1309000028. Contacted star and there reply was slight valve train noise/clatter is characteristic of hemis. If like vehicle has comparable noise level no repair to perform. Noise may increase slightly with mileage. I have been back to the dealer recently to have this looked into again with no luck. There are 60+ of this issue documented with VIN #s on a forum which I am a member of and we all would be more than ahppy to provide information for.
